Yay what great news to wake up to this morning! You can watch HL's acceptance speeches here on the People's Choice awards website. Thanks. I wasn't able to give their speeches my full attention last night (kids running around yelling watch this! watch this!).

Yay what great news to wake up to this morning! You can watch HL's acceptance speeches here on the People's Choice awards website. Thanks. I wasn't able to give their speeches my full attention last night (kids running around yelling watch this! watch this!). Why can't kids learn priorities? :)

Speeches are up on YT. And on the PCA site there's an unlabeled video showing HL and DS, but I can't get those to play. Anyone?

Who was the guy sitting between Lisa and RSL? I've been calling him Lisa's boyfriend, but he went on stage with the cast, so... probably not. Are you sure? I can't see him on stage....

Manu- 01-08-2009

He's there, behind RSL, I believe.

starbuck77- 01-08-2009

He's there, behind RSL, I believe. I see someone who looks like this man but with a white shirt instead of the grey one he wears.... :(

He's there, behind RSL, I believe. I see someone who looks like this man but with a white shirt instead of the grey one he wears.... :( I don't think he was her date. Everytime the camera panned their way, it seemed it was Hugh that was chatting it up with Lisa. She never seemed to acknowledge the other guy. What was a little different is it seemed the ones that attended this event came without a date or spouse. I know Jesse came with his girlfriend so he is the exception. And I'm not just talking about the House gang but the audience in general.

TJRX- 01-09-2009

At one point, I think it was when Hugh was on stage accepting his award, they panned to the cast and the young lady sitting beside JMo looked very much like her sister that I've seen pictures of. Or maybe it was Jesse's girlfriend who looked different from that angle.

By the way, Hugh said he didn't know who won 8 years ago (but that it must not have seemed like a good omen in terms of the people's choosing track record those days). I just looked it up -- Drew Carey.

Drew Carey won favorite actor in a drama?

vitawash99- 01-09-2009

I think it's just Favorite Television Actor. No TV category attached.

radiosweetheart- 01-09-2009

Drew Carey may be kinda douchey, he may have questionable politics, and he might have done terrible things to the Price is Right--but no one better bad mouth him. He's from Cleveland! He really, really likes Cleveland! He says nice things about Cleveland! He put popular Cleveland celebrities on a national TV show! No one else has really done any of those things, and for that, Drew Carey is eternally alright in my book.

By the way, Hugh said he didn't know who won 8 years ago (but that it must not have seemed like a good omen in terms of the people's choosing track record those days). I just looked it up -- Drew Carey. Actually that choice fits just fine considering who The People chose to put in the White House 8 years ago.

I think it's just Favorite Television Actor. No TV category attached. Ah, it is. "Favorite Male TV Star." Hugh added "Drama" in his acceptance speech, so that's what I remembered. :D

No one else has really done any of those things, and for that, Drew Carey is eternally alright in my book. I would replace "douchey" with "desperate for approval no matter how much self respect it costs" and add "by most accounts he's an all around decent person" and yeah...agree with the above. Drew's always good in my book regardless of his flip floppy politics and average level of non-standup talent just based on the fact that he's supposedly a really good guy and he's got that whole angsty back story that makes me pull for him. I like Drew. He seems like good people. On the subject of awards (sort of), though not related to "House", "Scrubs" had a funny bit at the end of the season premiere lamenting how the doctors never do well at the medical awards, cursing "Dr. Shalhoub" for winning year after year. Nice. Another awards related note of which I have no idea what it's about, this appeared on the GG website: HOLLYWOOD, CA, January 8, 2009 – In the process of preparing for Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association web team inadvertently marked a nominee as a winner. The mistake was immediately corrected. The winners of the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be announced on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at The Beverly Hilton with a live telecast airing on NBC at 8 p.m. Anybody know who they listed as a winner?
