Oh, holy crap. I missed this as well: The show submissions for House: "Lines in the Sand" "Que Sera Sera" "Son of Coma Guy" "Half-Wit" "Merry Little Christmas" "Top Secret" Top Secret? Really? I'm thrilled, however, because they submitted two of my favourite episodes - LitS and SoaCG. Outstanding episodes, truly. I'm not entirely sure which episodes they put on which tapes, however. Did anyone else miss this, or am I just plain behind on these things.

amysusanne- 09-16-2007

amysusanne - I agree. As much as I complain about The Sopranos, I saw all of the tape submissions in the Best Actor category - as much as it pains me to say it, if I were being subjective I would vote for JG as well. That's not to say that HL doesn't deserve it, or that I don't want him to win. He was an incredibly close second. It's just that Gandolfini seriously tore my heart out. I hate The Sopranos, but he was just incredible. Seriously...it's tough trying to be unbiased because then you wind up voting for the other guy. {g} Back to top Thank you That was the season 'finale'. He was pretty damn good in that one as well. Yeah...I mean, he kind of had it all there. The absurd, the genuinely funny, the serious, the *rage*. That episode wasn't one of my favorites, but his performance was kind of text book "bringing a little bit of everything". He nailed it. Top Secret? Really? I think they like including their "alternative" episodes for submission and that was the closest they had this season. There was no "Three Stories" or "No Reason" or "The Mistake" this year. I *liked* "Top Secret", but it's clearly not as good as any of those three episodes...what it is is slightly outside the usual formula.

407 - I did see which episodes they put on which tapes, but I can't find it now. It's somewhere on goldderby. The Drama Analysis thread maybe - I'm too lazy to wade through 23 pages of it! And regarding Martin Sheen never winning an Emmy, that was an outrage. He does have one for a guest appearance he did on Murphy Brown, but that's it. Oh, and just an interesting note...over at the other place, I noticed that the awards thread hasn't been posted on since Sept 8th. I think that speaks volumes.

DIY Sheep- 09-16-2007

For Emmy fans: 407 has started an Emmy thread down in the RL section for those of us who want the goss on the Emmy's asap and you can chat about any snubbing of anyone or who did who in the bathroom. I'm not sure, but I think William Shatner is hosting. Should be hilarious.

407- 09-16-2007

Found it - The House tapes: TAPE A: "Lines in the Sand", "Que Sera Sera" TAPE B: "Son of Coma Guy", "Merry Little Christmas" TAPE C: "Half-Wit", "Top Secret" Tape B is a damn strong tape, in my obviously very biased opinion.

iamdaffodils- 09-16-2007

Yep, lotsa love for tape B. I would have preferred something else paired with Lits for tape A though - either Informed Consent or Finding Judas. But we're not biased, we're insightful :)

*cough* Ok, to avoid this thread from getting cluttered up with Emmys talk (which I will most certainly be involved in, I'm sure), I'm going to mod this thread closely. Basically, this place is for all House- and Hugh-related discussion. If you want to talk about the Emmys as a whole, I'm re-directing you guys to our EMMY'S THREAD. You can go insane over there. I'm sure that at some point, I'll also end up wandering completely off topic and my mods will have to come here, intervene and tell me off. So, I'm thinking you guys are going to have to stay on topic, because if you go OT, I'll go OT and then I'll get told off and I'm not quite sure I can take that kind of public humiliation. You wouldn't do that to me, would you? :crying: So, carry on with your completely and absolutely on topic postings. And send me cookies.

407- 09-16-2007

Two things I'm wondering: 1. Who Hugh will be presenting with 2. How it'll top the Zach Braff or Helen Mirren skits Hmm.

iamdaffodils- 09-16-2007

407 - I would love to see him present with RSL. Seriously.

hughsblues- 09-16-2007

I thought this was kinda cute...Lisa on "standing in" for Hugh at the Bafta Pre-Emmy party where there was a psychic that Emmy hopefuls could drop in on to get a feel for their chances: "I’m here tonight as Hugh Laurie in drag and he’d go crazy if I went to a psychic to see if he or House are going to win an Emmy," said House co-star Edelstein. "What if it’s bad news and she’s wrong? Or what if it’s good news and she’s wrong? I’ll let things unfold naturally." I know she was just being funny...and it's a great quote but knowing how Hugh feels about psychics and how nervous he sometimes looks at awards shows...I can actually see a conversation like that between those two!! Got that quote from here...http://www.hollywood.com/feature/Emmys_07_Pre_Emmy_Party_BAFTA_Nominees/4856495

407- 09-16-2007

God. If only. Dammit, iamdaffodils. Now I'm sad that RSL isn't on the presenters list  Hughsblues - that's seriously cute. I always find it so sweet that he gets nervous about these things. Now I want to hug him. Oh.

galaxygirl- 09-16-2007

407 - I would love to see him present with RSL. Seriously. I would be sooooo happy if they could get RSL to do that. He presented at the Tony's.

iamdaffodils- 09-16-2007

Yeah, that would be my dream partner for Hugh to present with (or Stephen of course). I wonder if RSL will be there - when the show is nominated does the whole cast usually attend? Thanks for posting that hughsblues! I love LE.

Thanks for posting that hughsblues! I love LE. He was there last year when the show was nominated. IIRC we didn't know for sure if he was really there until pictures appeared days later lol.

euphrosyna- 09-16-2007

That LE quote is adorable. I've come over all fangirlish. RSL would be great to present with Hugh. Who is it likely to be, though? I can't remember who else is on the presenters list.
