You Read It. I Just Get So Nervous at These Things: Awards
I believe the next award show is the Emmys on September 8. ETA: Ooops. That's what I get for copying it really fast this morning. September 16

Ahh, I love the Emmys. Seriously, love. Go House, let's get 3 for 3! Although I'm not expecting the House team to take away any awards. Damn that far-too-deserving James Gandolfini.

Actually the Creative Arts Emmy Awards are on the 8th, the 'Real' Primetime Emmy's are a week later on Sept. 16th. I'm a big award show whore, it's my not so guilty pleasure. The Emmy's are up there, it's no Oscars though. Back when I lived in Europe I stayed up all night to watch them. I try not to have too high expectations, it helps with the disappointment if it doesn't turn out the way you want it to turn out lol. At least two of my top 3 favorite shows managed to get nominated for best drama and both have several acting nominations.

I thought this was a worthwhile way to spend what's left of my evening. Straight from IMDB. Hopefully I copied it down right. Let me know of any errors. galaxygirl- 08-20-2007

Barely on topic, but Ryan Seacrest is hosting the Emmy's. I'm going to need a lot of alcohol to be able to survive three hours of Seacrest.

sautomne- 08-20-2007

The only way I could enjoy that would be if Blake Lewis was the co-host and he and Ryan got all handsy with each other.

iamdaffodils- 08-25-2007

Poeia - there's one more Emmy nomination for 2007 - Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for a Series, Mini-Series, Movie or Special for Que Sera Sera. And I really need to quit going to that goldderby site, cause every time I do I leave depressed reading the predictions - Gandolfini, Sopranos, Gandolfini, Gandolfini, Gandolfini, Sopranos. According to most, House has no chance to win the series award and HL has only a very slight chance to win. I know hardly anyone there thought Hugh would win a second Golden Globe either, so I'm trying to think positive thoughts. :)

galaxygirl- 08-25-2007

I don't think I'll be able to make a prediction in the best actor category. Honestly, I can live with any of the nominees winning, they are all outstanding actors doing fantastic acting on the shows they are on. For best Drama, I'm leaning towards The Soprano's, but am not ruling out Heroes yet. I was one of those people who wanted Lost to win in it's first year but never thought it actually would. I would love to see Boston Legal win, not just because I love the show but mainly for the reaction of those so called critics who all seem to hate the show. If anyone but William Shatner wins best supporting actor, I'm going to be pissed. He was so brilliant in the episode he submitted, he totally deserves his third Emmy for that.

misanthropicobs- 08-27-2007

Brought this over from Hugh Laurie thread - He won best actor in a TV drama Teen Choice Award List

Namaste- 09-05-2007

The TWoP awards are open for those of you interested. There are several House related nominations. It's the first round of voting to cut the nominations down to the top 10 (So if you want to avoid RSL under the "worst actor" category or House as the "least favorite" character, now's the time to cull the herd.)

misere- 09-08-2007

House won the Best Prosthetic Makeup award at the Creative Arts Emmys this evening. They submitted Que Sera, Sera.

galaxygirl- 09-08-2007

Not House related, but it made me giggle really loud: Dick in a Box won the Emmy for best Music and Lyrics

himmelblau- 09-08-2007

David Morse did not win the Guest Actor in a Drama Series Emmy. John Goodman did.
