Amen! to your entire post, sweetfern! I've always found the phrase 'sloppy seconds' to be crude and demeaning.

But I can't see them falling into a romantic relationship, any more than I can see it with Cuddy, for the simple reason that IMO Stacy's the big love of his life & its always going to be there in the background (I'm happy to be proven wrong, but I don't see that House has any real interest in anything beyond sex with any woman other than Stacy). Ranee, I agree with you completely. If House wasn't willing to give things another try with Stacy, whom he clearly still loves, he isn't going to be interested in a relationship with anyone else. Also, as Namaste has pointed out many times, House seems to think of sex as either an act of love or purely physical. This is why I don't think he'd never sleep with Cameron. Cuddy I can see (though I'd rather not) because they have a history and friendship and could seek comfort in one another from time to time. I can honestly say that a House/Cameron romance is probably the one singular thing that might make me stop watching - because I just couldn't stomach it. To me (just my opinion, of course) it's a tired old cliche in which I have less than zero interest, and I would never believe that Cameron could be interesting enough to hold House's attention outside the bedroom. Finally, we've already seen the kind of women (strong, self-possessed, mature, classy, brunette, etc.) House goes for in Stacy and, apparently one time, Cuddy, and Cameron is the complete opposite.

I can't believe this is so low down, where are all the House/Cameron fans, i know theres fans in the closet out there!.... *Suddenly feels alone in the Hameron world* :(

I can't believe this is so low down, where are all the House/Cameron fans, i know theres fans in the closet out there!.... *Suddenly feels alone in the Hameron world* :( Without a doubt, the largest ship at HHOW is House/Wilson. And we have a lot of Chasers. But I think most of the people here are willing to discuss any ship as long as it's not on the "if House would just admit his true love for 'x' the two of them could finally live happily ever after" level. The fact that House is a dysfunctional person is going to be a factor in any pairing.

And props to the mods and members for making and keeping this a respectful, tolerant, mature board. We've all been around the Net enough to know such boards are rare. ::waves from aboard the Good Ship Hameron at LaurieIsLush, whose screen name, btw, rocks:: We're in the room, LIL! I've counted four of us so far who have at least spoken up and admitted we're Hameron fans. And there may be others still in the closet. We're safe here. Only downside to being a Ham shipper at HHoW is that my fics will probably never be mentioned on the rec thread (sigh). I can't speak for any other posters but I think that it's pretty much accepted among this bunch that there's no such thing as happily ever after where House is concerned. Heck, I don't believe in the OTP and happily ever after in real life. No, I'm not a bitter old Hamster; I've been in a wonderful relationship for 15 years and counting. But I've also been around the block enough times to realize people are complicated, IRL and on this particular show. And House is the King of Complicated. And yeah, dysfunctional. That doesn't mean we can't indulge our fantasies and write our fics and imagine a happy House/Whoever pairing. It's a harmless little addiction -- safer than Vicodin. Check your PM; I'll send you a link to a site infested with happy Hamsters.

We do sometimes fall of the "all are welcome" track. But you can either fight back for your ship or take a step back for a day -- we'll get it right as quickly as it can. You never know about the fanfics. Snark-Bait's "Five Years" was certainly popular. It it's well written with interesting observations, someone will find them eventually and they'll get recced. By the same token, if you're looking for Cameron fics to read, ask at the "Let Me Get My Baba" thread. We have some of the most voracious and well-connected readers here. They'll point you toward lots of good stuff. Finally, you could even post the link if you wanted. We aim to keep no fan a prisoner at HHOW. We even have a thread in the Caf devoted to links.

I can't believe this is so low down, where are all the House/Cameron fans, i know theres fans in the closet out there!.... *Suddenly feels alone in the Hameron world* :( IM A HAMERON FAN! i think -young ingregue doctor falling in love with gruff older mentor to find out the full extent of his lonely heart- hameron would be amazing. i wish it would happen!

MaryIsobel- 10-24-2007

Ingenue? Would you care to elaborate on what would be so amazing about it #Thirteen? Because I can think of a number of reactions to that scenario but amazement is not one of them.

DIY Sheep- 10-24-2007

Ingregue! I love it - what a brilliant Freudian slip. And a lesson - never try to write ingenue (young innocent woman type literary character) while thinking about Greg House. Although Cameron must be getting on a bit - or is it just that the blonde hair makes her look older? How old is she meant to be in the show. I thought it was about thirty, so that would make her about 33/34, even though Jennifer M is quite young.

the_xarlster- 10-24-2007

Ingregue? brilliant. 'specially as you could pronounce it as In-Greg-You. I always imagined her to be a couple of years younger than Chase, who I believe gave his age as 30 in an episode, and I think she suits being around 27 or 28- not just out of schooling but still pretty young.

He gave his age as 30 in Autopsy -- the second episode of S2. There are people who dispute this as House said he was 26 in S1, but even if Chase was telling the truth rather than rounding up to discourage Andie, he would be 32 now.

blacktop- 10-24-2007

I found it jarring that in "Guardian Angel," while Cameron continued to act quite young, her appearance seemed much older.

MeganFaye- 10-24-2007

It wasn't that she was acting young, its that she was standing up to house, and acting her age. I feel she was acting young and immature in the first seasons; too naive to be a doctor. Now she got in his face, and bet against him, while plotting against him, and then stole a sip of his iced coffee (too cute!!) I see her now as acting like a late 20's who finally found herself and found her voice. Now he knows she can dish it out as well as he can, and perhaps even better. (A MORMON HIT HIM!!! I'm Mormon. Its hard to do!!) To me, they seem totally right for each other. She's finally relaxed, not working for him, and he's finally less of an ass to her. He was :::gasp::: civil!! Did anyone else notice that?

DIY Sheep- 10-25-2007

But what was it with that whole 'you want to control me' line - that would put a whole new spin on their relationship...

the_xarlster- 10-25-2007

See, I rely on you people. Living in England means I haven't seen Guardian Angels as such yet - I have to wait for my American friends to email me them as attachments. Actually it should be arriving tomorrow sometime. -squee- Would anyone be willing to transcribe the main H/C moments? I know clinic_duty should be up soon, but I can't wait that long ;>
