You Kissed Back!: House/Cameron Because HHOW is nothing, if not fair and inclusive. Here's the place to discuss the House/Cameron relationship. Think they have an awesome mentor/mentee relationship? Believe that they could have a truly plausible relationship on the show? Or maybe you feel that they shouldn't be touching each other with a ten foot pole? Whatever your viewpoint, share it here.

Oh man, this lonely thread just makes me sad, sitting there by itself, neglected. It's like the love that dare not speak its name. It seems like even House/Foreman has sparked more curiosity on these boards.
So let's make some noise! Let's give the boy a HAM!
House + Cameron = 2 gether 4 ever!
Whooooooo! Raise the roof ya'll.
Proper!

This is awesome!!!
Really, I always found ham sandwiches disgusting. So no HAM to me!

You know what I really appreciate about House/Cameron? The fact that it has become more plausible, rather than less, with the passage of time. In season one, and to a lesser extent in season two, I thought the thing needed to write a really good House/Cameron fic would be to age Cameron, show her becoming more mature. And that's happened. She's no longer quite so idealistic. In season three, she did her best to change--and maybe it didn't always work out for the best, but she tried. She made House proud of her. She went for what she wanted, and got a canon kiss out of him. That's more than any other character can say. I think, as time goes on, she'll settle more into her adult, mature role, and then House/Cameron will be even more believable.

*posts as Mod* Peeps, lets respect each others' differences.
*posts as self* I was actually working on a fanfic where it was the end of their relationship and they were at counseling per Wilson's insistence. And, I can actually see where this could be plausible (I'm not a shipper on House), but if it were, Cameron would have to be absolutely miserable for it to last, and I actually like her as a person. I don't want to see Cammy miserable.

I don't want to see House/Cameron (translation: it would make my eyeballs bleed) not because I don't like Cameron, but because I do.

That is pretty funny. Of course it would not be pleasant to be involved with House IRL.

zulu, thank you for working so hard to get us back on track.
And actually, the fact that Cammy is made out to be such a "nice" person and then corrupted throughout the series is the harsh reality of what House/Cam seems to be. Of course Cameron had issues to work out - we all do - and it was tough that those issues had to "interfere" with the way she was perceived at work by her coworkers and superiors. Had House handled himself differently around her, she would have become a different person, and the means to House/Cameron could have happened.

Okay guys, I'm going to out myself.
I like House/Cameron. Just a little. And only when in certain moods. I like it because it's a damned train wreck. It's just so... painful to watch onscreen and that's the way I like it. Yes, I may be sick. I like it because the H/Cam moments are often ones where we get to see House pushed to emotional extremes. I love watching him try to deal with Cameron's touchy-feelyness.
Also, the kiss was hot.
There. I said it.

You're allowed to like them, especially on this thread. While I don't really ship any combination (except in fan!fic), I think you're right that the train wreck that would be House/Cameron would be interesting to watch.
One of my biggest problems with House getting it off with any of the fellow cast members is "what do they do when it's over." I can't imagine House in a long-term physical/emotional* relationship with any of them. It's bound to end and end badly. And then what?
If, for example, he gets together with Cameron, they will not end up on good terms. Do TPTB wait until JM's contract is ending and have her leave? Do they have her continue to work for or with him? How? Maybe Jesse and Jennifer are capable of ending their relationship and remaining friends, but I don't see House and Cameron as being able to do that. In fact, after the split, I can imagine House going out of his way to make every minute she is in the hospital as awful and humiliating as possible.
*emotional only, of course, he has with Wilson.

I completely agree. And in their case, I would love to see how it ends and the little pieces unravelling, and how the two would manipulate each other back and forth (because you know that they would). There'd always be one little thing they'd out-do to each other until one of them just gave up, but neither would be willing to be the first to call it quits. Yet at the same time, Cammy wouldn't want to hurt House, and House would take advantage of that.
And Wilson would be involved somehow.
But, I do have to say that I like Cameron, and at first, she was my favorite character because she was nice and naive. I always have liked Cameron on the show, despite the rep she's gotten and how many problems the writers have had writing her. And I always secretly hoped that she'd steer clear of House when it came to romance, because she'd just get hurt in the end.

I'm OK with Ham in small doses. I was OK with the kiss and the date made me laugh, because it was just so BAD. But other than that, no so much.
LightMyCandle- 08-30-2007
Cammy wouldn't want to hurt House, and House would take advantage of that.
See, she may not want to but I think she would, assuming he had those kind of feelings for her. One of the reasons I don't like them (and there are a lot) is that when it inevitably ended she would come out like the victim no matter what and she knows it. She knows that everyone would automatically blame House and she wouldn't have to take any. I'm not saying she wouldn't get hurt but I don't think that she's ever realized her ability to hurt others, the apology to Chase aside.
"what do they do when it's over."
I agree.
