Why Didn't Hugh Win the Emmy? I'm pissed, you're pissed, he, she, and it are pissed that Hugh didn't win the Emmy AGAIN. Now it is up to us to figure out why.

Yeah, you're right, Chippers, I'm bummed that Hugh didn't win. BUt gladd HH was recognized for directing. That is something.
You know, I think perhaps it takes at least four emmy noms before you win, so next year is clearly Hugh's year. Or possibly his next series. Check this out:

I'm happy HL gets nominated every year, he absolutely deserves it and I hope he gets nominated and wins next year.
I will not stoop to saying Bite Me, Emmy Judges, because that would be unbecoming and crude. Not untrue, just u. and c.
So why do I hve the stupid Emmy show on? Just to see the one House win and the shot of the cast. Hope Hugh is having a lovely evening with his family and recovers soon.

Bryan Cranston spent a lot of years overshadowed by Jane Kazmarek. It's kind of cool that he found a vehicle that let him shine. I've never seen Breaking Bad, but based on what I remember from him on Malcolm in the Middle he's a fantastic actor and it is not a travesty of justice that he won instead of Hugh.
There, I said it.
ETA: Yes, he won before, but this is a KNOWN major career shift. Most Americans still don't know Hugh Laurie outside of House.

Is it bad to say that I thought Monica made the wrong choice when she picked Chandler over Richard! She should have so picked Richard hands down.
Back to the topic at hand: Clearly, Hugh didn't win because the voters knew the show was going to suck and they didn't want his win tarnished and overshadowed by that.

PS - I liked the Monica-Chandler match, but the writers made a huge mistake. They gave her a choice between a god and a goofball....

See, I believe it is always better in the long run to choose the goofball. I'd rather be with someone I'm on the same level as. That's why my affair with George Clooney was so short-lived. He couldn't handle my goddess-ness.

I'm not either. I don't watch any of the other nominated programs, but I find it hard to believe that none of them would have had better material for their nominated actor to work with and better material gives the actor room for a better performance.
