Mary Isobel: Ahhh, yes indeed. I totally get your real life objections to the age and boss issues - but this is House. And he is a lecherous character - He was all hot for the CIA chick and she was about the same age. Didn't Cuddy warn the candidates that sexual harrassment charges went to HR? How many posts have their been about the pursuit of Cuddy's thong and him staring down CTB about the presence or absence of hers. Can we all say "inappropriate" behavior? And I love that about him. And besides it's only TV - I just think it would make for a great subplot. Can't you see Cameron barging into House's appartment one night only to find 13 in his bed...ooo the drama, the tears! Good stuff!

He was all hot for the CIA chick and she was about the same age. Michael Michele is in her early forties (according to IMDB so let's say mid-forties instead). Olivia Wilson is what? 23-24? Actually, it's not so much the age difference that squicks me but that he's her boss and that it's such a bloody cliché.

Lully- 11-23-2007

Olivia Wilson I just love your Freudian slip... :D I'm sure you don't mean it, but it was cute!

Silja- 11-23-2007

Ah crap, and now I can't edit it....LeSigh. Well, I was looking for a good Sick!Wilson prompt at the time.

I think we need some sort of Kutner Appreciation thread for all those who think Kumar (whoops, Kutner) is cute. I don't think he's pudgy! Something about him is just very appealing to me; I guess it's his enthusiasm, the way his eyes light up when House tells him to have the paddles ready. I also like his deadpan comic style. I never thought he was that cute in Harold and Kumar but maybe it's the lab coat - he's quickly becoming my #3 cutey right behind Wilson and House. Sorry, Chase, you've been edged out of the running. Any chemistry between House and 13 is only because of Hugh Laurie's terrific acting skills, IMO. 13 is a dull as a box of rocks. Although she was right about the Lyme disease so at least she's not stupid. Just not interesting.

I'm sure we'll make character threads for whichever of them stick around. We'll just wait until the dust has settled. That is to say, if anyone does become a permanent cast member with their name in the credits and all, I guess we would make a character thread for that person. I'm sure my enthusiasm about the idea of new cast members is shining through. :thumb down:

I think we need some sort of Kutner Appreciation thread for all those who think Kumar (whoops, Kutner) is cute. I second *looks back over thread*, er, third that motion. He's adorable! I didn't think that way before either, not until I learned that that was him in "The Namesake" and not just my imagination. I guess Kal Penn just grows on people. In other news, I've decided that I would love to see a spin-off about Amber and Cameron. Kinda like "The Odd Couple", only with a cutthroat bitch and a girl who still seems to me like she farts rainbows and hearts. It could totally be fun.

I posted this in the "YDWTK" ep. thread, but since it's being specifically asked for here: Kutner and Amber. Kutner because he makes me smile. There was something about the way he delivered the line "She had polio. We cured it with Vitamin C" in "Whatever It Takes" that I adored. Just kind of deadpan, matter-of-fact and guileless, like the Beav telling Ward what happened at school that day. Amber because it would be a nice change to see House interacting with a woman with whom he has no sexual tension or history. She is resourceful and willing to break the rules (or make her own), and while she's doing that now in the name of winning the competition, it would be interesting to see what she does with that in the name of patient care, when the competition is out of the way.

Am I the only one in love with Kal Penn's voice? It's smooth like buttah. Ahemn, I'm about to impart an embarrassing personal preference. I have a thing for Peter Jacobson's voice. It's all low and gravel-y and manly. It helps to close one's eyes when listening.

melly- 11-26-2007

I picked Taub. He's the only one who doesn't seem like a complete caricature to me. I think I picked Kutner as well (I was waffling between him and Amber). He did show some emotion when the Mormon guy picked him to be axed, so I gave him points for that. Maybe I should have picked Amber, however. She seems to hate Thirteen almost as much I do (that's reason enough to like her) and she'd be an amusing contrast to Cameron.

Ahemn, I'm about to impart an embarrassing personal preference. I have a thing for Peter Jacobson's voice. It's all low and gravel-y and manly. It helps to close one's eyes when listening. Oh wow. That had all the recommendation of "hey baby, put this bag over your head and talk to me!" :-) None of the new guys are doing much for me, I'm afraid. Then again, if things kept up, I'm sure I would have eventually fallen head over heels with ROF. I think TPTB should have kept him to just to test whether or not it really is possible to manufacture a sex symbol out of the most unlikely material.

I think TPTB should have kept him to just to test whether or not it really is possible to manufacture a sex symbol out of the most unlikely material. Lol. ROF was kinda hot in a Sean Connery sort of way.

jonne- 11-27-2007

I voted for the guys. Kutner I really like, and Taub because I just don't trust TPTB with women.

Namaste- 11-27-2007

So I don't really know who's going to "win" with House but I'm going to speculate that it won't be Amber for one reason: So far she's never made a move on the patient's behalf. Kutner, Taub and, to a lesser degree Thirteen, have all advocated for their patient. So far, Amber hasn't. But maybe that'll change.
