Who Should Make the Cut? Pick House's New Team
Foreman has taken one of the positions, so theoretically two are left. Why do you want House to choose for his team?

MarchingTwinkie3- 11-22-2007

I picked Kutner and Thirteen. Thirteen because 1) I'm shallow and 2) even though she reminded me a bit of Cameron in the beginning I like her, like, infinity times more than Cam. Kutner because I think his character is adorable and it would be amusing to see week after week how he (almost) creates a firey inferno of death. Although seeing him makes me sad and, after what happened this week, he'll probably just make me more sad. Hmm... Maybe I need to rethink this... Definitly not Amber, though. I want to jump through my TV and throttle her.

Boffle- 11-22-2007

Basically, no Thirteen, please. Not enamored of Kutner. Amber and Taub, I suppose, though they may be too cute together, but they do have a bit of chemistry whereas Thirteen has zero chemistry with anyone and no reason to stay. Kutner is too broad a character and too predictable. Throttle Amber? I don't hate her that much and I'm wondering if she can show other dimensions once she actually has the job. Taub is interesting because he has both less to lose (he's got money) and more to lose (he's running out of medical career options), plus he clearly knows his own weaknesses and has empathy and is kind of bent. Not a Chaser by any stretch, but I like the character and his newly grown stones. "I'm there," he says to House so one hopes he gets the call sometime soon. Cameron, meh. Foreman in tiny, tiny doses is ok. Wilson's great, give him some strong arguments that are not manipulative.

I voted for Kutner and Thirteen, but really, none of the options are that appealing. Maybe that's how we'll get Chase and Cameron back in the fold -- whichever ones he hires will get fired for insipidness a few weeks later. I don't understand why Volakis wasn't fired weeks ago. She consistently puts advancing her career ahead of patient care, which is exactly the opposite of House (and not in the good, provide-a-different-angle-of-thought way). Taub impressed me with his ideas in the astronaut episode, but hasn't impressed me medically since, and personally I find him boring and immoral in ways I don't have sympathy for (as opposed to the characters who are immoral in ways I do have sympathy for *rolls eyes*). Thirteen, on the other hand... well, she could be interesting if TPTB handled her well. I've no reason to believe that they're going to do so, but the potential is there. And the biggest point in Kutner's favor is the lack of bad points; he hasn't done anything to impress me, but nothing to annoy me either. He'd make an amusing minion, but I haven't seen any evidence he'd make a good doctor. With these as the options, is it any wonder that I want Chase back, and that even Foreman and Cameron seem good by comparison?

MissViolet- 11-22-2007

Kutner's my favorite because he reminds me of House with his derring-do. I also like the aspect of his personality that is fascinated with new experiences. I like Taub, too, because I love the actor, he's just a terrific character actor and he was great in The Lost Room. If I had to pick a third, I'd say Amber, at least she's interesting, whereas Thirteen is just a bore. But my top two are Kutner and Taub. I usually prefer the best actors and I happen to like those two. The sad thing is I don't like any of the female docs - Amber is okay but not sure I'd be entertained by her week after week. I wouldn't miss Foreman if he left; could do with even less Cameron, too. Chase is the only ex-fellow I miss. Chase, Kutner, and Taub would be a good team. Though kind of heartless - they probably need someone compassionate to fill Cameron's role. Kutner is actually my favorite of all the ex-fellows and candidates. I think he's got the right attitude for diagnostics even though, as House once explained to Foreman, he'll end up killing more patients than he would in another field of medicine, but he may end up saving more, too.

I really needed an option that said "Chase and Cameron"....but since it wasn't available, I voted for Kutner and Taub.

extra_cat- 11-22-2007

Since FIRE THEM ALL wasn't an option, I picked Amber and... oh, hell, I forget. Taub and Kutner are interchangeably boring. I think I picked Taub.

Since FIRE THEM ALL wasn't an option, I picked Amber and... oh, hell, I forget. Taub and Kutner are interchangeably boring. I think I picked Taub. Idem. I picked Amber and Kutner I think. I like Amber. If they had to add a female character I would prefer her to 13. At least, Amber is different from the old ducklings.

MaryIsobel- 11-23-2007

Chase, Kutner, and Taub would be a good team. Though kind of heartless - they probably need someone compassionate to fill Cameron's role. I don't have a feel yet for whether Kutner (I kinda miss the days when we had to call him 6/9) would be compassionate but I think Chase and Taub both have the potential to feel compassion for the patients (remember when Chase insisted on fixing that boy's eye and couldn't say no to kissing Andi though he really didn't want to or directed another patient to look at Cameron's "necklace" to distract him from distress?) and I think Taub could be a bit of an idealist--looking at patients and seeing what they could be (in a good way)--and seems to have some struggles wrt medical ethics v self-interest. And I got the feel too that with his adultery, at least he seemed to know on some level it was wrong and he was willing to go through a lot to protect his wife because he loves her. So I don't think a Chase, Kutner Taub team would be entirely without compassion. I see Taub as having some of Foreman's scruples (I know I might be the only one who sees him that way...) but without the arrogant, egotistical ass-hattery. Why do we need Foreman again???

Silja- 11-23-2007

I vote Kutner and Taub - for much the same reasons as MissViolet although I don't have Kutner as a favourite. I just like his exuberant energy (and I have a thing for slightly pudgy Indian men *shrugs*)

piepeloe- 11-23-2007

I voted Amber and Kutner. I do like Taub, but there's already a 'cheater' in the ensemble. The same goes for Thirteen, except that I don't really like her that much. Cameron's AIDS was pretty mucht the same thing. Fine, so TPTB seem to realise there's more to explore in both situations, but they should have thought of that before. I want to know why Amber is a CTB and if she'll stay that way once she's hired. From what we found out in Mirror, Mirror I think Kutner's pretty twisted too and that's always interesting. Also: Thirteen might not be a genuine love interest for House, but it hasn't stopped the weird flirting and sort of forced UST-type moments. Taub is older, more experienced, more sure of himself, and I think this would mean he's more likely to stand up to House/go to Cuddy and we already have Foreman for that.

SarahWoolfe- 11-23-2007

I voted for 13 and Taub. Taub because he's an accomplished actor and his more mature, experienced character will be an interesting contrast to what House has previously mentored. And he's really short and that's cool to see next the 6'2" House. I REALLY like 13 - She's gorgeous and has already demonstrated more acting ability than JM managed to display in 3 seasons. She's no Cameron lite - this gal has balls. There's undeniable chemistry between her and House. So what if she killed a patient - my money is on shallow horny Gregory getting past those objections real fast if she seems remotely interested in him. And then whoa!...look out. The long awaited sex scenes Katie Jacobs promised will fly. Yeah, 13 is a keeper - she's staying. Can NOT STAND CTB - I think It would be brilliant if she and Foreman got peeled off into their own little spin off show where I'd never have to see either of their characters ever again.

Silja- 11-23-2007

And he's really short and that's cool to see next the 6'2" House. Yes! I've said it before: Those two next to each other is comic gold.

The long awaited sex scenes Katie Jacobs promised will fly. Oh, SarahWoolfe, I couldn't disagree more on this! That's just ....eugh... to me--though of course I'm not suggesting you don't have a right to think that way! But to me, ugh, no. Cameron was too young for him three years ago and now he's three years older and 13 is three years younger (presumably) than Cam was then.....shudder..... I know it's inconsistent because I have myself always been attracted to older men myself and especially was at that age but it just squicks me out. Maybe it has something to do with me having a daughter not much younger than Olivia Wilde or something but it's just wrong to me....Which doesn't even get into the fact that he's her boss....

Lully- 11-23-2007

Kutner is my favorite since this "game" began (like Silja said: he is exuberant and cute!), and I picked Taub because I'm one of that awful, awful women who seems don't like other women... I'd never guess this before I started to see this show... But, really, could you blame me? 13 or Amber, plus Cameron? Just no!
