I'd suggest that promos aired on TV shouldn't be considered spoilers for this thread. I respect this board's definition of spoiler, but for this thread maybe that would be okay? Even the most committed spoiler-phobe would see those in commercials anyway OT, but this is about one Lost fan I know and he never ever watches the promo for the following week after the just aired episode and avoided all promo's. He's dedicated lol.

This thread was set up with the initial intention of being completely spoiler-free - if folks prefer, & are comfortable with that, its not a problem to keep it that way. Anyone have any particularly strong feelings on this? I'm hoping as well that this situation with the flood of spoilers for a given episode is a one shot (or maybe two shot) deal & we can maybe ride this out without too much difficulty & things will return to normalcy on the other thread soon.

Taiga- 09-12-2007

I haven't been in the other thread, is that what's happening? I figured they were talking about the TV promos and TV Guide stuff!

saara_zaara- 09-12-2007

No, someone at the other place did a mammoth post (actually more than one it turns out) with pretty much a complete play-by-play of ep one, including the all details of the PotW & the H/W/Cu/newbies/CCF etc etc. The same other place poster has the ep 2 tape & intends posting the same level of detail probably tomorrow for that ep. Plus someone posted leaked clips from ep 1 on youtube, probably from the same screener tapes. Everyone's a bit freaked out at the level of spoilerage, which is very out of the ordinary IMO - some are enjoying it, some are not.

Taiga- 09-12-2007

See, that's why I went spoiler free. That's just no fun. Even the spoilers I saw in TV Guide, wrongly assuming it was safe for me, left me disappointed that I know what's going to happen and can't wonder any more.

Lully- 09-12-2007

I don't mind about the spoilers - if I do I'd not be here. I like to know what's going to happen and it's only the wild speculation that I try to avoid. Usually, a spoiler free thread works for me because it's just a place where people can wonder about what's going to happen and they won't freak out with some personal interpretation of a script or scene. But I think it would be okay to talk about something that has already been released, like promos aired on tv.

Namaste- 09-13-2007

I figured that the "clips" up on YouTube weren't the usual 30 second bits that Fox posts, but were full scenes, so I intentionally didn't click. From what I saw of that first post, the spoiler person got her hands on the first two episodes via DVD that are sent out to TV reviewers for their use in promoting an episode -- the "what to watch" segments and such. For people who are avoiding all spoilers, even the advertisements and promos, I wonder if they even bother getting on the 'net. As for me, since I'll be in Central and Eastern Europe on vacation when the first two episodes air, I figure it's a good thing I won't have available 'net access. That would just be too hard.

The clips that are up are actually extensions of the promo scenes - I doubt they're the full scenes. They are, however, spoilery (and you won't understand the humour in them if you haven't read the big play-by-play recap of episode one), so I'd advise you all to not click. I admire you all for being so strong...

I read the super-detailed spoiler -- it was practically a treatise on the episode -- and I was sad that I did. In particular I was disturbed to find out the resolution of the medical case. Maybe I am mis-remembering, but I thought that last season, our spoiler suppliers were kind enough to not give away all of the mystery of the episode, just strategic scenes. I have not clicked on the clips and don't intend to do so -- I love discovering for myself in their true context the nuances of delivery, tone, body language and silences that make the interactions between House, Cuddy, and Wilson so meaningful. I used to read all the spoilers last season, so I feel as if I am a virgin all over again... let's see if my resolve lasts!

marykir- 09-13-2007

If you don't want to know the resolution of the medical case, you need to be careful about reading the listing details posted on Futon Critic. Some of those last year gave more away than I really wanted to know.

vitawash99- 09-13-2007

No, the people writing spoiler treatises last season also gave away the ending several times. Which totally ruins the fun for me, since I like to try to figure out the medical mystery now and then - I didn't spend all that time as a child reading the disease section of the encyclopedia for nothing! So I'm now avoiding the spoiler discussion threads, since I figure folks will be discussing the treatise, and probably the second episode whenever the poster gets around to watching it.

Silja- 09-13-2007

Hi. My name is Silja. I'm a spoiler phobe. Can I :hang: here? Great! *moves in*

Lully- 09-13-2007

You know what's really making me curious? The opening credits. Silly I know, but I want to know if they'll change it

Jouse- 09-14-2007

To this?

Lully- 09-14-2007

 You start to know me too well! And I suspect we are dangerously OT right now...
