I'll read the long lost hamster in a heartbeat! :D
I think the Sheep could write an absolutely BRILLIANT "House meets his long-lost hamster" fic.
I'd totally read it.

I guess if I have a peeve about the erotic House/Wilson stories (I mean, aside from bad writing), it's when the writer just kinda throws the two of them together for sex and doesn't go into even a little of the emotional aspects
MissViolet, I agree with you--but I think that, for a lot of fandom, they consider that the work (the emotional set-up) has already been done by countless authors before them. There's a certain fanon shorthand that most readers agree on, and authors who don't take the time to draw it out again think that folk will easily follow them when they leap from A to Q. Me, I think that's lazy writing; I like to see A to B to C and so on. But it's pretty understandable in fandom's main pairing when it gets glossed over.

For a while, Asynca was thinking through/researching how a medically feasible mpreg could be done. It was very, very interesting to contemplate, although I don't know where she ended up with it.
Or you could go the Cuddy-proxy, really-means-something-else route that nevertheless ends with Wilson in stirrups... Not that I've ever done that... 8)
Lully- 08-10-2007
Mare, we must start a campaign! The hamster deserves be with House again!
I could read a MPreg depending who would write it.

Still thinking about doing it. I've mapped 40,000 words and a nice, solid GEN plot (though with House/Cuddy and House/Wilson UST. Oh! And lots of Chase. Because I love Chase). Hmm.

Guh, you people talk fast.
Mpreg is something I just avoid like the plague. Honestly, it scares me. Just...why?
Asynca- 08-10-2007
Honestly, I decided to write mpreg because it would be a massive challenge to make it believable and enjoyable for a general audience.
I took all the typical mpreg cliches - either House or Wilson gets the other pregnant, they they have a happily family together, that one comforts the other through morning sickness etc - and turned it on its head and fucked around with it. Plus, the storyline is reasonably canon-esque and based in real world medical science.
Okay, you see? By telling me you'd never read it, you're practically double-daring me.

I'm really interested now, I'll read it Asynca

I would read a hamster fic as well
*waves to Wih* Wih, Sheep and Priority are people I have come to count on for grammer and story flow. I used to never really let anyone read anything I have written(I'm like this at work too, I hate the QC process) but they have helped clean up some of my horrible spelling and grammar.
KAYGREG I forgot about her, we need an update of the Adventures of KayGreg House
blackmare- 08-10-2007
TrooperCam, please don't kill me. Please, please don't kill me ... but it's ... grammar. No 'e.'
Here, have some of this lovely Shiraz wine I've been drinking. It's Australian, so it has an earthy bouquet with just a hint of wool and a clever, snarky finish.
I propose a toast to the Sheep who brought me here.
And I request, again, a fic involving House (or Doctor Scruffy; he's so deeeeliciously evil!) and his long-lost hamster.
TrooperCam- 08-10-2007
Mare- I don't kill people for pointing out mistakes. I have atroc...err...really bad spelling and grammar skills(ironic, considering what I do for a living no?)
Bus is here, got to go claim a seat before all the little brats get one.

And the Number One Reason I Won't Read Your Fanfic is ...
1. Mpreg.
Oy Vey! I remember the day when I realized what those four letters stood for. I was scarred for life.
I think the Sheep could write an absolutely BRILLIANT "House meets his long-lost hamster" fic.
Yeah! I'd like to see that.
I just don't want to read any H/W fic that contains gerbils.
:P

English spelling and grammar is a real bitch when it's not your native language. I know some Spanish and it was much easier for me to pick up even though I communicate, watch and read much more regularly in English. I guess it's because the flow of the Spanish language is similar to Hebrew.
Back on topic - Mpreg is a big turn off for me, though I wish it would be possible in RL (smash those damn gender-based social structures! :P). I think pregnancy as a concept puts me off, regardless of who's carrying it.

I always tought it was a crazy impression of mine. See, I speak Portuguese and everytime I heard someone talking Hebrew I felt a rhythm very similar to my own language. When I asked about that impression to my collegues they didn't get it. Funny thing is I can speak an almost reasonable Spanish, but I can't read it well.
Back on topic:
I started to read a MPreg sometime ago. It's was a romantic H/W MPreg fic. But I couldn't stop laughing, so I had to stop reading.

Wasn't it Richard Gere who was rumored... Never mind.
Sheep doesn't go for that kind of H/W anyway, so I think a hamster fic would be safe. Except maybe for the hamster. Or House, somehow.
PS. There's an absolutely hysterical mpreg called, appropriately enough, "What the hell?" NO SLASH, but it's a House/Wilson baby. One Author's Note says: "Also this takes place during season two. But it’s an AU b/c I haven’t seen season two." (Hint: That's not why it's AU.)
Fine I’m pregnant. Not some chick. The other father is no other then Wilson,” House said looking right at Wilson.
“I think I’m going to be sick,” Chase said.
“I didn’t bang him. He got cursed by some old woman and I just happened to be the one that touched him. So now it’s my child he gets to have,” Wilson said.
“What?” Wilson asked when he saw everyone including House looking at him.
“How could he be pregnant? Let alone with your child in less you two were having sex,” Cameron said.
---
“So it’s true? You and Wilson are a item?” Cameron asked.
“Hell no,” Wilson said removing his hand from wiping off House’s stomach.
“Then explain how he could be pregnant with your baby,” Cameron said pointing in the general direction of House and the machine.
“Let’s just say crazy that came into my room. It’s her fault,” House said starting to wheel out of the room.
“Ok I’ll get started on the abortion papers,” Stacy said following House out of the room.
“No need for that,” House said stopping so quickly that Stacy ran into the back of his chair.
“What? You’re actually thinking of going through with this?” Stacy asked.
“Yeah,” House said looking up at her.
“Why?” Stacy asked.
“Because he liked weird stuff and this fits in his book nicely,” Chase said.
“The brit boy is correct,” House said heading towards his office again.
“Australian,” Chase said.
“Same thing,” House said.
“Not even,” Chase said.
