Well, damn! The realistic nature of my story: That Time Wilson Was Exploded Whilst Setting Off Fireworks Outside of House's Apartment just plummeted. LMAO! You can write it as a crack!coda for Namaste's Fourth of July *g* Seriously. Someone needs to go to the Darwin Awards website and write a five things of cracky (and tried, tested and true!) ways for Wilson to kick it.

hwshipper- 08-10-2007

hwshipper - I loved your fic (: Did you take the idea of them meeting when House ran over Wilson from the fake scripts? Ooh, thank-you so much for letting me know, Jouse! I hope you keep reading it when it continues - I'm patiently waiting to get the next two parts back from my new beta at the moment... Yes the fake script gave me the plot bunny (I'd be surprised if I was the only one!) though its also true I was already playing around with something v similar. Also I only took the bike bit of it (I wasn't going to have any Wilson!girlfriends around to screw things up at this point). BTW I hope these aren't spoilers - do we know the scripts were fake?

Seriously. Someone needs to go to the Darwin Awards website and write a five things of cracky (and tried, tested and true!) ways for Wilson to kick it. Nightdog wrote a "five ways Wilson dies," although it's not very cracky: http://community.livejournal.com/house_wilson/536888.html

Seriously. Someone needs to go to the Darwin Awards website and write a five things of cracky (and tried, tested and true!) ways for Wilson to kick it. That is very very tempting Asynca. Wilson's death by frog gigging is already formulating itself in my mind. So that's 2 stupid deaths. Hmmm. Poor, stupid Wilson.

Lully- 08-10-2007

The cliches really don't bother me. Once I asked Nightdog (Hi, Nightdog!) about the cliches and she said that pretty much all the stories had already been told, it's how the writer chose to tell the story that makes the difference. It's true. If they are IC, there aren't too many mistakes and the plot it's interesting enough, the story will be good. I'm not a writer, but I'm a very good reader (or so I hope!), so this point of view maybe won't be accurate. But works for me...

TrooperCam- 08-10-2007

Oh, Dee... You're going to kill him in a realistic car accident, aren't you? Personally, i don't have a problem with using a car accident to hurt Wilson. I think when people reach for a way to describe a horrific incident, they will go immediately with what they know. People can imagine war, they can imagine illness, they can imagine a plane crash, but I would wager that nearly everyone has been in a car accident at some point in their life. It makes it easier to write when you know what the feelings and sensations will be. Fandom peeve, for the love of Jeebus, if you are going to write military stuff ASK SOMEONE IN THE MILITARY FOR HELP. Seriously, I can't tell you how many times I have read a fic and had to stop to tell teh person that no, it really doesn't work that way. Hollywood has done more to screw up the perception of the military than the war in Iraq.

MissViolet - So happy to see you here. I just re-read no boundaries an hour ago and still wearing a goofy smile. hwshipper - I believe the moment Chase put on his wizard hat and tried to cast a spell on Cameron, it pretty much lost all credibility (; For writers and general info - yesterday I went out with a bunch of my gay friends, and we talked about first time anal penetration. Although most of them remember it as awkward and painful (and for two of them even unsuccessful), they all agreed it can be an overall good experience if done right.

misanthropicobs- 08-10-2007

I'll agree with Trooper's comment about military stuff. This really gripes me. I'm retired Navy & have gotten so angry about this stuff that I've come close to throwing something coffee cup at monitor. Marines and Army are not the same service. Find a Marine, ask them about the Army and you'll very probably get an extremely obscene response. Don't confuse the two.

I believe the moment Chase put on his wizard hat and tried to cast a spell on Cameron, it pretty much lost all credibility (; Though it would have been a nice explanation for why Cameron falls for Chase at the end of HE "he really is British & studied at Hogwarts too!" Psst - some little new spoilers on the spoiler thread!

TrooperCam- 08-10-2007

Find a Marine, ask them about the Army and you'll very probably get an extremely obscene response. Don't confuse the two. Word, that actually goes both ways. Soldiers don't like Marines, we REALLY don't like Sailors and REALLY REALLY don't like Zoomies..I mean Air Force. Hey Orbs I didn't know you are retired Navy, thought the family was. Cool, does explain the LJ comments :) To get back on topic, for the continued love of Jeebus, if House et all HAS to have a kid, don't go using the most exotic name in the baby book. The fandom and kids, that is a whole damn thread by itself

TrooperCam- 08-10-2007

Bad Mac Bad Mac, no Apples for you

misanthropicobs- 08-10-2007

Yeah Trooper, retired a while back, 1992. As far as Zoomies go, they rank right down there with sand crabs (civilians) and the lightweight Navy (Coast Guard). I guess in downward ranking structure after the Navy its Marines (jarheads), then Army (ground pounders), then the others. I always noticed that in bar fights (er - congenial discussion) it tended to be the Navy and jarheads versus Army. Of course Zoomies always thought they were too elevated to engage in such barbarism. We won't even get into the internal Navy ranking structure, bubbleheads, skimmers, etc.

Ranee- 08-10-2007

don't go using the most exotic name in the baby book. What's the most exotic you've seen? I've only seen a few kid fics, I recall David, Church, and a couple of daughters, both with Cuddy - Io was one, which is pretty unusual, & maybe Isabelle (from perspi recently) ?

RNwannabe- 08-10-2007

Wilson's death by frog gigging Ha,ha, radiosweetheart! That is the first thing I thought of! http://www.darwinawards.com/legends/legends1998-04.html

Lully- 08-10-2007

Usually the exotic names come from H/Cam spawn, I guess - but I try to forget everything about that pair, so I don't remember any... Church is very unusual, even for a nickname... There's also Jack, from "My fathers son" verse.
