the fic that described House & Cameron's son as a "blue eye." That was it! Just an eyeball, apparently. lmfao. The Eye of Hameron.

RNwannabe- 08-08-2007

The Eye of Hameron. Is that the little round bone thingy that is left on my plate after I finish a nice breakfast of ham and eggs? I usually give mine to the dog.

The Eye of Hameron Bwah! Is that the little round bone thingy that is left on my plate after I finish a nice breakfast of ham and eggs? I usually give mine to the dog. I have to say it is taking all my restraint to not subtitle the House/Cameron shipper thread either "Do I smell bacon?" or "Trayf" (Non-kosher) We're trying to be inclusive here!

The Eye of Hameron :raps table: topic please! - clearly a House/SGA cross-over fic. The thing that really bothers me is when one of the male characters is feminised. If I'm reading about two men getting it on, I want those men to be men, damn it. Very true - I read a moderate amount of other slash fic & it seems to me that House fic seems to be particularly prone to the feminisation problem. Which seems really odd, partic. wrt House of all characters, he's one of the most masculine characters out there. With Wilson & poor woobie Chase its just outrageous. Foreman seems to me to be the only male House character who hasn't been treated in this way (though there's not a lot of Foreman slash out there). Unless I've missed it?

It could be worse. It could be the fic that described House & Cameron's son as a "blue eye." That was it! Just an eyeball, apparently. Maybe that was his name? They sound like a wonderful family: Greg, Allison and little Blue Eye.

fffaw- 08-08-2007

They sound like a wonderful family: Greg, Allison and little Blue Eye. Maybe they are Sinatra fans and named him that as an homage?

sautomne- 08-08-2007

I have to say it is taking all my restraint to not subtitle the House/Cameron shipper thread either "Do I smell bacon?" or "Trayf" (Non-kosher) Oh how I wish you would do that! But, yes, we have to be niiice. I loathe the whole Greg/James. I think the worst thing I came across was a fanfic meta discussion where the writers were referring to them as Greg and James instead of H/W. WTF?! Boy Wonder Oncologist, Wombat - These epithets were only used once. Why are they used in fanfic all the time?

407- 08-08-2007

And Chase wasn't even directly called a wombat - I believe the quote was that he'd "run like a scared wombat." Yeesh.

ticcy- 08-08-2007

I believe the quote was that he'd "run like a scared wombat." Yeesh. Yeah, in Honeymoon: "So what's your plan? You take the big, dark one, I've got the little girl and the Aussie will run like a scared wombat if things turn rough."

Poeia- 08-08-2007

And also: Additional pet peeve? The word "cerulean" I never had anything against this word until the 800th fanfic that used it to describe House's eyes. I've never understood the need to describe House's eyes in the first place. We all know what they look like! It could be worse. It could be the fic that described House & Cameron's son as a "blue eye." That was it! Just an eyeball, apparently. That was Ethan. I MSTed that fic! Other highlight in that work of art include Ethan asking House who his first love was. (It was Cameron.) And the revelation that both House and Cameron were virgins the first time they slept together.

Lully- 08-09-2007

Ok, now I want to read that MST Poeia... I'd like to ask something to the writers here: why is so fun hurt Wilson - or House, or Chase? And what about the car accidents? Seriously, Wilson must be the worst driver in NJ. Why so many writers like that scenario?

RNwannabe- 08-09-2007

House and Cameron were virgins the first time they slept together. I got milk in my nose over that one! Do you have the link, Poeia? That must have been one crappy sex scene. Virginal sex usually is. Especially with two noobs!

deelaundry- 08-09-2007

And what about the car accidents? Seriously, Wilson must be the worst driver in NJ. Why so many writers like that scenario? Hee, "worst driver in NJ" - funny. The one defense I have for the car accident scenario is that is the number one cause of accidental death. In fact, for Americans age 35-44, it is the #3 cause of death overall (8% of deaths), behind only cardiovascular and cancer (18% each). Deaths by age group: http://www.the-eggman.com/writings/death_stats.html Chart for odds of dying of different causes, all ages (US statistics): http://www.nsc.org/lrs/statinfo/odds_dying.jpg

Asynca- 08-09-2007

Dee, it causes me great distress that you've been researching realistic ways for Wilson to die.

radiosweetheart- 08-09-2007

Chart for odds of dying of different causes, all ages (US statistics): http://www.nsc.org/lrs/statinfo/odds_dying.jpg Well, damn! The realistic nature of my story: That Time Wilson Was Exploded Whilst Setting Off Fireworks Outside of House's Apartment just plummeted. Now, I am distraught.
