Title from S4, I don't actually remember the episode.... :S. Pre Wilson/Amber I actually had some hope that this pairing would come true. Does anyone else think this could work? Does anyone else think this could work? Seeing as how she's dead, I don't see it working out. :wink: But seriously, I never really thought about it because pre-W/A, I hated Amber. But I think she's too much like House for that to ever have worked. A lot of people have tried to argue that House really did have a thing for her and that he only tried to save her because he was really in love with her and I have no idea where they're getting that. I think they respected each other but I don't think they could have ever really loved each other. Some "pairings" I just find instantly platonic and this was always one of them.

I can’t agree that House thought Amber was hot there’s no real indication of this. If it’s a reference to his thoughts and comments in H’s H and W’s H those were reactions to House’s deep seated knowledge that he had some reason to be thinking about Amber but not being able to remembering what it was. Later when its established they were together and in the bus accident but he can’t explain why, he feels guilt regarding her, Taub plants the affair seed and House considers the possibility. In the scene where he hallucinates Amber in his office House is trying to make the idea of an affair fit but it doesn't. The guilt is not connected to an affair or even an attraction but the fact that he'll eventually remember that it was answering his call that brought her to the bar and his refusal to just accept her ride and go home led them on the way to the rest of the night’s tragedies. “Amber” (who is really House) speaks of the qualities they share and someone coming between them. Which were the worries House had about Amber's relationship with Wilson being able to take hold. They were not about any real feelings H & A had for each other. They are also qualities that later in the white bus seem to have played a part in his feeling pain, miserable and fearing his best friend's hatred so perhaps no to be so admired.

It's interesting how the qualities listed are the qualities that House admires about himself, he even mentions his eyes, if I'm not mistaken. Very narcissistic! I also don't think he found her hot, particularly - though I believe that House can find pretty much anyone hot in general - but he was fascinated and a little shocked with the similarities he saw on her, even before he knew about she and Wilson - their scene in Games, when she explains to him why she likes to win is a good example of that.

Although your right it doesn’t have anything to do with them being attracted to each other instead it was to show why Wilson was attracted to Amber, because she is like House. Yes he does mention his eyes and calls her beautiful. Exactly why House considers them, what he sees as their good qualities, because you would have to think there would be some appreciation of things like that between the two of them if an affair was even a distant possibility but in fact no such appreciation actually existed. Yeah if he had any thoughts in that regard to Amber at some point he would have said or shown it somehow. House is pretty flexible in the who's hot department :) or at least in the who's intriguing deptartment but he's also fairly up front about it. House may have somewhat recognized how he and Amber were alike pre-Wilson and I think he did appreciate some of those qualities while she was competing. But once she is involved with Wilson than those similarities, especially the ones House claims to admire about himself but that really cause him trouble, became so much more clear and worrisome. If those qualities helped Amber to make Wilson happy, as House definitely had especially in the past, then she would be more successful in being with Wilson and cutting into House's time with Wilson. If they caused her to eventually make Wilson unhappy, as House also had done, House doesn’t want to see that happen to Wilson. House sees it as a lose, lose situation all around.

I can't quite ship Thirteen with anyone because her personality still seems blank. To me. But I definitely can't see her with Wilson. Of course, some of that's due to the fact that I can't ship Wilson with anyone (except for House) now that Amber is gone.

I have decided to ship House/13 based on the theory that any woman who has a romance with House will use up her "usefulness" on the show and disappear a la Stacy. So, bring on House/13. Let's get this over with as quickly as possible. Someone needs to write a Chase/Enid fic. She was the Mom in The Jerk. They had a lovely chemistry and since House told Chase to find a way ot keep her occupied...

Personally I'm all for a Thirteen/ Grim reaper ship, but if brief affair with House would get her the hell off my screen then I'd suffer through. However, with my luck TPTB would decide that she's the love of House's life and give her as much screen time as House as he discovers the cure for Huntington's. I really like the new character, the private investigator. Not enough to actually remember his name, though (does he even have one?). I can see why Cuddy likes him. He's kinda scruffy and not exactly handsome, but he's smart and interesting and sorta cute. So, any Cuddy/P.I. shippers on this thread? Or even House/P.I.? (of course I'm a House/Wilson shipper so the latter is sacrilege, but I'm just curious if anyone sees slashy vibes between them).
