The Oncoming Storm: Doctor Who (UK Pace)

Ok all I can says is ROSE! I was so shocked and happy to see her. She looked kind off menacing and it wasnt until they mentioned it on Dr Who Confidential that I noticed that she dissapered when she was walking away. I think we are going to continue to see glimpses of her turning up around the Doctor. The Adipose were really cute - I hope they bring them out as merchandise - but really it was a silly story more for children. Next weeks looks great though - I love the historic episodes. And Donna wasnt as grating as I thought she would be - the mating thing was funny.

The Adipose were adorable. I want one in plushie form. :) Donna. Argh. Donna. That's all I'm saying. And I was surprised to see Rose, too, just randomly THERE. (My parents and I watched Last of the Time Lords today(again). They were very surprised to find out who the Face of Boe was.) I dont know if it was a joke or whether its cannon that Jack is the Face of Boe no one can say for sure- but it makes sense. Catherine Tate in the commentary for the episode said she hoped there would be Adipose merchandise too- who knows could be a xmas bestseller!

This is an odd question, but does anyone know if the Doctor Who board on TWoP still exists, or is it gone? Looks like they revamped the boards and if you're not on one of the main American channels or one of its subsidies, it doesn't count. GRRR. Anyway. The Adipose were adorable, and Donna made just the right expression when that one waved, said something that sounded suspiciously like "See you" and jumped out the window. That's exactly what I would have done. After freaking out, of course. ;)

It still exists, but when it was PHed it was moved to the SciFi thread - it's one of the stickies at the top over there. It's the only thread I ever use over there anymore. I guess I've been trying to figure out what to say about this ep so far that I haven't exhausted myself saying elsewhere. The squee of seeing Rose is starting to wear off, and as much as I loved seeing her already (the press-launch DVDs had the scene without Billie Piper, so it was a real surprise - they had filmed the scene with her scenes for later episodes). But I have to agree with, okay no one said it yet I guess, the only thing I didn't like is that I really loved all the stuff that Catherine Tate did, but having Billie Piper return in her first episode back overshadowed Tate. And Tate is an extraordinary woman IMO, and the show has so many high points to it already, but it became almost too much "squee" by then.

I found the second episode much better and at last showing what a good addition Donna is. Wonder what is on her back? And another forshadowing of Rose coming back. Did they change history but saving the family though - because now the Doctor and Donna are worship like Gods and this could have started a cult or something for generations or was it meant to be anyway? More mentions of the Shadow proclomation and something about Medusa which apparently The Master referenced last series.

ETA - David Tennant refers to "Dobby Doctor" as "Yoda." Oh boy. What I want to know is why did the Master happen to have a Dobby-sized Doctor suit on hand for him? And a Dobby-sized bird cage? You *know* the Master didn't let the Doctor run around in his Dobby-birthday-suit. And by *know* I mean pray and hope.

My first thought on the suit thing was "The Master went to Build-a-Bear!" It think it was more of Dobby!Doctor refusing to run around in his Dobby-birthday-suit. Or sit in a cage in it. Whatever. The Doctor wouldn't have done it in any condition*. *Subject to fanfic and other such things.

I can see the Master taking over the chain at some point just for the sake of having Dobby-Doctor clothes at the ready. I can see him taking over Disney as well, but that's a whole nother story... (can you imagine torture on the "It's a Small-World" ride? Which of course the Master would ride over and over, while the Doctor would demand to ride on "Pirates of the Caribbean.")
