I felt so bad for Jackie when the Doctor said that. I wanted there to be a picnic at the end with Ianto, Gwen, Donna, and Jackie hanging off Jack, Rose and the Doctor making out in the corner, and Jake appearing out of nowhere and having it off with Mickey. It would've been nice. And not-depressing. Like the actual episode was. DONNA. *sobs*

And as much as she annoyed me sometimes, for it to end like that was just sad. Also not happy about pseudo!10/Rose. :(

I never really gave a crap about the whole Doctor/Rose love story, mostly because it was only ever going to end in tragedy and emo. The only person I've ever shipped the Doctor with was Jack and that was only after we found out he can't die. But I *loved* Donna to pieces, I really did. I shall miss her.

arizonamyrie- 07-16-2008

The Moff needs to find a way to bring back Donna. I was a shipper, then I saw Donna as just a friend and loved it! The Doctor can be all emo about losing someone, but Donna needs to be there to slap him silly and bring him back to his senses.

I was actually looking forward to seeing the Doctor travel with the Doctor. That would have been fun.

I was actually looking forward to seeing the Doctor travel with the Doctor. That would have been fun. It just makes me think of a very naughty version of the Doublemint Gum commercial. With two David Tennants and a John Barrowman. Speaking of Jack, I'm surprised the Doctor (any of them) didn't have a quip back to him about what he was thinking.

Hail the Random- 07-16-2008

If they had two David tennants and a John Barrowman, I think they might need to move it over to Torchwood. ;) And try to avoid bits of brain matter as fangirls' heads explode.

I loved the finale and thought it was sweet that they found a way to allow Rose and the Doctor to be together, even if it was half!Doctor and they were stuck on the parallel world. I'm not a Doctor/Rose shipper, just a romantic at heart. Also, this leaves the door open for (real?)Doctor to rediscover his sexuality and get together with Jack, which doesn't exactly fit into any sort of plot line but hey, it's hot. Although I do prefer Jack and Ianto, they're great together. Anyway, Donna will be missed, and I wouldn't mind either Sally Sparrow or River Song as the new companion, or even the doctor's daughter, I forgot her name, but Georgia Moffet plays her as well, which I guess means Sally Sparrow is history and we'll probably see the daughter again. I loved the finale and the Torchwood crossover. I'm very excited about Steve Moffet taking the reins, as he wrote my favorite episodes - Silence in the Library, Blink, and The Girl in the Fireplace. I think his episodes are always unique and stand apart from all the others. I'm sad that I have to wait till Christmas for the new Who episode, and then we're just going to have 4 episodes in 2009. But maybe Torchwood will fill the gap. Altogether I thought it was a great season and David Tennant was absolutely brilliant.

Tenna- 08-04-2008

Unfortunately, no, Torchwood won't fill the gap. I dunno if it's considered spoilers or not, but TW's only getting a five episode season this year. *sigh* River Song's gonna have to pop up eventually. I liked her. And Jenny should come back, I actually ended up liking her. Jenny also needs to come back so we'll have another compainion who isn't Donna that didn't fall in love with the Doctor (depends on your opinion, of course). One of my friends thinks that RTD did all this because he wanted to take everybody of his out of play before Moffat took over. I say he should let Moffat play with his toys, Moffat let him play with Jack. This is mostly because I've loved Donna since The Runaway Bride and want her to stay around forever. (No companion is ever allowed to say 'forever' again, by the way. As in 'I was going to stay with you forever'. It's no longer allowed.)

At least Tennant's hiatus time is well spent. Review: David Tennant in Hamlet http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7540819.stm With Patrick Stewart too. Here's hoping this production could find it's way to New York.. Perhaps they could take the Tardis.

arizonamyrie- 08-06-2008

From what I heard third-hand of the TW and DW panels at Comic Con (eg: reading online): Moffat doesn't really intend to continue with River Song's or Jenny's storylines. He might just to surprise us, but I believe he stated that he didn't intend to continue. However, EPs in the past have told bold-faced lies just to trick the audience. Meanwhile, casting rumors for TW were neither confirmed nor denied. And remember, we still have from three to five one-off dramas of DW next year, being produced by RTD.<----

sautomne- 08-06-2008

Freema Agyeman has joined the cast of the British version of Law and Order. So it seems unlikely that she would have time for TW. Also, that's not a really a spoiler, since it's been all over the news.

arizonamyrie- 08-06-2008

Wasn't sure what we were qualifying as spoilers yet. I was assuming even the promos were considered spoilers. But, JB has time to do a few other shows, and Tennant is even starring in Hamlet, so it seems it's still possible.

MissViolet- 08-06-2008

I don't believe that we'll never see River Song or the Doctor's daughter again. They left those plot lines hanging wide-open, and I can't help but think they'll make an appearance again someday, or at least be mentioned in the plot lines. I just hope that the new Torchwood and Doctor Who episodes are interspersed as much as possible so I don't go into withdrawal or run up my Netflix fees renting the DVDs. I still haven't seen one Torchwood episode - Reset. I have no idea how I missed that one and I keep waiting for it to be in reruns but for some reason, it's only been aired once. I am happy about converting my mom and her boyfriend to be Who fans. It wasn't easy because some episodes are a bit silly and for a younger audience. But after showing them Blink and Silence in the Library and the GameStation episode, they are now converts. My mom innocently asked why Captain Jack hits on both men and women and I had to explain it's the same guy from Torchwood - she didn't recognize him. He looks a bit different in the old DW episodes... something about his hair, I think. She doesn't like him on Torchwood but thought he was great in the GameStation episode. He was pretty awesome in the What Not To Wear scenes. Too bad the BBC cut out his butt, I wouldn't have minded getting an eyeful of that! For some odd reason, I can't get the rest of my family to watch Torchwood but they have taken a fancy to Doctor Who.
