The first Doctor Who Adventure Game has been released! Do you know how people in the US can get it?

fffaw- 06-06-2010

The original version didn't do a location check so people outside of the UK could use it - however, they've put up another version now that blocks anyone outside the UK. Apparently, they will release an international version in July, so we're just going to have to wait. I wish I had jumped on the download as soon as I heard about. :-( I loved last night's episode. The scene with Vincent at the end made me cry. Tony Curran did a brilliant job. Did the crack show up in this episode? If so, they didn't draw attention to it.

Did anyone watch The Lodger? Thoughts?

Naked Doctor! Doctor wearing shorts and playing football! Cooking Doctor doing matchmaking and filling in shifts @ Craig's work! Amy managing to run the TARDIS for days and days while stuck in a time loop. It was fun. It was a lot of fun. That's my take on it. Not a very good review, but...Doctor playing soccer!

I love James Corden who played Craig - he was adorable. The Doctor was also adorable running around the pitch. And naked! I also loved the "Space Scientist" on Confidential. I'm sure her title is much more specific than that, but hey, let's not confuse the kiddies (or the adults). ;-) It was an awesome visit to the Royal Observatory though. And seeing Saturn! How cool is that?!

This episode was a lot of fun. I laughed so hard at the Doctor's plan to shout, "I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS!" I hope that its events (e.g., the creature building a TARDIS) play a role in the next two episodes, because otherwise I would be led to believe that "The Lodger" was just an excuse to get Matt Smith naked. Not that I mind, now, but where was this kind of story during the era of the Ten Inch?

Not that I mind, now, but where was this kind of story during the era of the Ten Inch? I know, right? Kinda unfair! But I certainly did enjoy seeing Matt Smith in the all together. I loved the whole game commentary in Confidential as well. It was perfect with all the footy/footy analysis that I watched all weekend.

All your Doctors, in one convenient package

The Crack is now NASA official. Also, I would get into so much trouble with 11 Doctors to play with.

radiosweetheart- 06-16-2010

That's just unnerving. I don't want to be swallowed by the crack in the universe and to have never existed!

Okay, I'm re-watching The Eleventh Hour, and I've had a bit of a thought. So in The Lodger, the stairway upstairs wasn't real and there was a perception filter on it. In The Eleventh Hour, Amy's house looks to have a stairway going to the third floor, but from the outside of the house there are clearly only two floors. I used to think that this was something of a production error, but now I'm not so sure...

Interesting....

OK Chippers You made me look. :-) Yes, you are right about the house: there's even a kid's drawing of it as a two-story house. I suppose the second flight of stairs could go to the attic but it does look a lot like the one in The Lodger. Wheels within wheels... Some other odd things: what is the deal with ponds? The Doctor makes a big deal about a duck pond with no ducks, then Amelia Pond becomes Amy Pond and has this crazy kissogram job with all the uniforms. Why disguise herself? Also Amelia Pond is an anagram for "A Plaid Omen." Nudge, nudge, wink, wink... And where is her aunt and what happened to her parents and why is she so composed when the Doctor first showed up... What did she do in the two years between the Doctor leaving the second time and his return? She got engaged to Rory, but what else? Oh there are a lot of questions this season. I bet we don't get many of them answered in the finale Saturday. Also, a truly odd thing is that Rory says when Prisoner Zero is first mentioned (and he'd been talking about the Doctor being the Raggedy Doctor), he says "So there's a Prisoner Zero, too?" like Prisoner Zero had been another imaginary friend. Or I suppose she might have told Rory about the crack and hearing the calls for Prisoner Zero. It's a puzzle inside a conundrum wrapped in an enigma!

A very good finale episode, though it doesn't really make sense it sort of appears that there was some effort at an internal logic that went through the whole season so huzzah for that. I am a huge fan of Rory/Arthur. He is just perfectly spot on and very quietly woebegonely hilarious. Smith has grown into the role and showed a bit deeper Doctor here and I wasn't as annoyed with Amy's shouting, mostly because of the way the character is drawn. The little girl who played Amelia is a gem. I'd love to see her as a companion in about ten years. I guess it really isn't about plot even though this was fairly tightly plotted, season-wise. The device of having Amy remember all of reality back into existence was about on a par with Martha getting the whole world to chant the Doctor's name to bring him back to his proper appearance: pretty dang silly, but you feel yourself going along with it because you so want it all to go well. But what the hey. It's about how you feel about the characters at the end after all they've been through. Which is pretty wonderful. (The previous post is a dream, pay it no mind. :-> )

For those who enjoy the musical side of the show, the 2010 Doctor Who Prom is up on the BBC iPlayer, open to international audiences because it's a radio program.
