OK, random question time! When Time Lords get new shoes, do they look really small because the shoes are bigger on the inside? Can you wear your clothes forever because they are bigger on the inside? Or do we just mark these ideas as "totally ridiculous" and leave it alone?

I'm finally finding time to catch up with Season 4 and watched the first 3 episodes. I loathed Catherine Tate in The Runaway Bride but I really enjoyed her in these epsiodes. They've given her character more depth and made her much more likable, IMHO. I thought she did a great job and at times was very touching. I'm looking forward to the next few episodes. Also, I don't care if they're made of fat, I really want an Adipose doll. They were adorable. :-)

I also hated THe Runaway Bride, but Donna's much better now. And I also really want an Adipose plushie, because they are just so cute!

Well, if you have any knitting skills, google cache around and you may find a pattern out there to knit one. The BBC apparently made them take down the pattern, but nothing really disappears on the 'net, does it?

http://io9.com/393538/neil-gaiman-to-write-who Oh boy, did this get me excited. I also squeed over the fact that Stephen Fry was supposed to write a Season 3 episode but had to back out over scheduling issues because that means its a possibility that he could write something at a later date. That would be magnificent. Grant Morrison would be ace too. I was worried about RTD stepping down, but I think Steven Moffat will be a pretty good choice.

Anyone see Silence in the Library on Saturday? I'm really interested to hear more about Dr. River Song and how she features in the Doctor's future. I really like Alex Kingston and was happy to see her.

arizonamyrie- 06-03-2008

Me too. I stayed up half the night waiting to watch it too, and I'm left with questions, but in the good way. I've been reading the thread at TWoP about it, and there is so much speculation as to the girl, the library, Dr. Moon, River Song, etc... it makes you dizzy thinking about it. As for Stephen Fry, they've been trying to get him in for awhile now, and life keeps bringing him more commitments, including when he was on Bones. But, I was hooked to the screen by Moffat's Jekyll, even helped me study this semester for ab-psych. So, I'm looking forward to 2010.

So, Midnight and Turn Left have left me freaked out. Thoughts?

arizonamyrie- 06-23-2008

Yes. And I'm highly impressed with how both actors did on their own (of course, they're pretty much the best in the UK in their age groups). Both have me nervous for our DW friends. But, being a Ten/Rose shipper, I'm also excited to see Billie back on the show. As an awesome version of Rose who can stand on her own two feet (I just didn't know what was going on with her newly discovered lisp).

Ok it wasn't just me then thinking her enunciation was different.

HTR, Cindylouwho, another site I read for DW has a large discussion (or had, I lost track of where they were) going trying to figure out what/why she sounded different. We know that BP says that she forgot how to play Rose at first, and she went out and watched her seasons. But, what's odd, is the way she speaks in Secret Diary of a Call Girl is almost exactly like the way I remember Rose sounding. And I think she sounds normal again at the end of TL when she's finally smiling. But it's like Rose really turned into some version of the Doctor at some point after they were separated, much like Jackie anticipated would happen (though it happened more with them being separated).

(Spoilers for 4.12 if you haven't seen it yet) Anybody else curious about why Ianto and Gwen didn't go to the weapons room despite the fact that they know regular guns won't work on the Daleks? That just seems stupid to me, as did the whole 'run toward each other in a place where we can't see all the nooks and crannies where bad guys are probably hiding'. I understand high emotions, but seriously, Doctor and Rose, not smart. Which isn't to say I didn't like the episode. A sort-of double dose of two of my favorite shows. But still. Lots of stupidity. Also, Harriette wins everything forever. You'll be missed if you don't end up coming back to life.

Well, that was depressing. Must go watch again. Although, I have to say that I loved everyone(except Jackie) driving the TARDIS. That was awesome. :D
