I thought I wouldn't like it, but I thought it was wonderful. You might be surprised. I am only bitter because I have to hear that wretched Leona Lewis song all awards season if it keeps winning! ;-)
Well, that's done then. I'm so ready to go to bed. G'night kids.
I know I am probably the only person who thinks this-but everything about Avatar turns me off. It's not a movie, it's a cartoon. The story is rehashed from a thousand other films.
I'm with you. I did see it but only because I wanted to see the visuals (and they were beautiful), but I feel like I've seen the story a dozen times before. I think it's incredibly overrated. I will say that I was impressed with most of the actors.
Jeff Bridges seems like a really good guy. He might not be, but he's a good enough actor to seem like it, anyway.
Among other things, he founded the charity in the 80s called "End Hunger Now" to end hunger in the U.S.
And I love that for all the Bridges, family is everything. When he was offered The Big Lebowski, he sat down with his 3 daughters to discuss it because he wanted to make sure they were comfortable with his creating a character who was such a bad role model. (Patrick McGoohan turned down James Bond because he had 3 young children and didn't approve of all the guns. So Sean Connery got the role.)
The Dude is a bad role model? Why did no one tell me this before? Maybe that's why I'm unemployed! All the Caucasians and my tendency to roam around in my robe all the time!
Huh. Now that's something to think about.
I've been checking getty images
here.
There's watermark, but Hugh seems to have a new golden(?) ring, in one photo. Have anybody noticed it watching TV?
I noticed the ring on TV when the panned to him for best actor.
How bizarre to put a picture of someone's hand with a ring on it when the ring or lack thereof has been a discussion lately? He has no ring on tonight.
It's totally not his hand in that close up. Different buttons on the cuff and different stripe on the tux pants.
