Fingers, toes and eyes crossed! Go, Hugh!

Here's hoping we don't need a consolatory recitation of Kipling's "If" as quoted by Mr L. recently.

I don't watch any of the other shows with lead actor nominees. Does anyone who does watch the other shows thinks Hugh has a good chance against the competition?

A lot of people are picking him to win, but then again, I'm always a sucker for underdogs, so this isn't necessarily the waving checkered flag :?

I'm with RSH. If I had my way MCH would finally win. One thing seems to be sure, NPH won't win tonight after winning 2 Emmy's last week. I still have a hard time deciding if I want MEmerson to win or Terry O'Quinn, it's like choosing between my left arm and my right arm.

I'm thinking HL's best chance will be if a lot of the vote is split between Michael C. Hall and Bryan Cranston. The video discussion at The Gold Derby had two of the guys listing HL in second place on the non-official "ballots", so if there's enough a split otherwise, that should work better for him. (I was amused that their first reaction was that the academy would just bring all the guys on stage and throw a dart to declare the winner, since it was so hard to pick between any of them.) In terms of NPH ... all the voting was at the same time, so I doubt that his two earlier wins will make a difference. It may indicate that everyone has a favorable view of him at this time. In that category, I'm good with everyone except Jon Cryer ...'cuz that show makes me ranty.

Blasphemy!!! Actually I think it is a highly competitive category and genuinely it is an honor to be nominated. I've tried to watch the other shows because these same actors keep getting nominated so I'll assume they do great work, but none of them draws me in on so many levels the way Hugh does. House is the most interesting character ever, thanks to him and the writers (but mostly him, I think). I do think he's the best, should have a row of Emmys in his son's bedroom and believe he will win at long last today. If I am proved wrong, I shall be writing a stiff letter to the Emmy folks. On cardboard. ETA: The "Blasphemy" comment refers not your post Namaste, one of the ones above you. :-)

MEmerson is so friggin' adorable, all I want to do is hug him and mrs MEmerson is ridiculously adorable too. They are such a cute couple. Jon Hamm shaking his bootie made my night.
