About NCIS, (do we really have to spoiler for an ep. that's already aired?) Oh, well. Spoilers for last week Abby has been bugging me more and more lately. I used to adore her but now I find her to be a spoiled brat. I hate that she can get away with murder just because she's Gibbs' favorite. I still like her, I just hate how much of a spoiled child she is. You can bet that Gibbs wouldn't let anybody else get away with running off with that dog. I was also disappointed in McGee for caving to her twice by giving the dog money for flowers and taking it in. He's come so far but he still can't deny Abby anything.

My favorite guilty pleasure Gossip Girl is back! Last night's episode didn't disappoint. Chock full of evil and scandal. Jenny Humphrey is a bad, bad girl.
And Best. Chuck. Bass. Line. Ever.
Scene: The van der Woodsen/Bass blended family is sitting around the living room. Serena has just received a mysterious package.
Lily (to Serena): Don't put your dirty package on the table.
Chuck: If I had a dime for every time someone said that to me...
Ah, I love Chuck Bass so damn much.
It's such a fun show!
Chuck is awesome. I felt so sorry for him during most of the episode :( I loved Lily for believing him.
Jenny kinda sucks at being a bad girl. and I know we were supposed to feel sorry for her but the brown paper bag speech? didn't really do it for me.

Hooray! Thanks, Ikilledkenny! I was thinking I was the only one with the GG love.
I was glad Lily believed him too. I rather like her when she's not being snooty. I can believe she was a wild rock chick in her rebellious younger days.
And Jenny? I've always loathed her. I thought she was a whiny brat from the word go. The brown paper bag speech didn't do anything but make me roll my eyes. She's a brat.
The other great (gross) Chuck line:
Serena: I don't want your DNA anywhere near me!
Chuck: Then you're going to want to get new hand towels.
The look Serena gave him was priceless.
The show is so friggin' camp. What's not to love? :-)
ikilledkenny- 04-23-2008
I know! I love it. I hope the show will never ever change.
I used to think Jenny was kinda ok. She didn't bother me a lot before but now I'm hoping she hokes on her yogurt.
I wasn't expecting to enjoy Chuck/Serena as much as I did. Chuck torturing Serena and Erik becoming a "blond mini!chuck" was really fun to watch.
And I have to say that I also loved Blair's eww during the Breakfast at Tiffany's dream  as well as her scenes with Rufus. And how Rufus didn't believe Jenny when she said he got played by Blair.

The only thing that takes me out of the good, cheeseball fun of this show is my weird over protective feelings for Rufus. I don't know what it is, but I don't like him getting played. That's not to say that I don't love Blair and didn't enjoy her and Jenny's chess game, but I just have this whole "dude, back off from Rufus" attitude for some reason. The rest of them can destroy each other again and again, but lay off Dad.
fffaw- 04-23-2008
I kinda see what you mean, amysusanne. Rufus is rather befuddled at times and sweet. He tries so hard to be a good dad. No one should pick on him.
Blair's "ew" was classic.

I didn't realize there were so many GG fans here - that being so slashy tonsil hockey spoiler here

I think that's it...he tries really hard and just wants to do right by his kids and yet he keeps getting taken advantage of or passed over. He seems more grounded in reality (at least my reality) so seeing him catch a break would be nice.

I think most of the GG talk has taken place in the "other roles" thread, actually.
I have no idea if this needs to be spoilered or not given that it has little to do with the show or the spoiler and is, in fact, in a book that has probably already been read by everyone who's going to read it/them, but...
I thought Chuck was the gay character in the books, but I keep seeing people talking about Dan being the gay guy. Which is which? Or were there questions about both of their sexualities and both answers are correct to a certain extent?
As for the show spoiler
(and I hope Kristen, who I've actually grown to like in a weird way, doesn't think she broke that story...although to be fair, I hadn't heard the part about Jenny), I've never found E to be the least bit interesting, so hopefully this will turn him into a character that I don't mind seeing on the screen. Honestly, he and Nate are the only two that tend to make me zone out when they're on the screen. Hopefully that'll change in the last couple of eps.
ikilledkenny- 04-23-2008
from what I've been told about the books
Chuck was gay and Dan was experimenting.
and about the show spoiler
The Jenny part is definitely new and kind of amusing I have to say. I wonder if the outing is part of the Blair-Jenny war.
fffaw- 04-23-2008
I had heard the spoiler about Eric VDW being gay but not the Jenny part. I wonder who Jenny's new man will be?
Is Crazy!StalkerVanessa, oops, I mean Dan'sBestFriend!Vanessa ever going to be on the show again? For someone who always shows up at the wrong time and climbs through windows unannounced, I was surprised she wasn't around. I mean, if Rufus knew Jenny was having a surprise birthday party (even if Blair planned it), why wouldn't he call Vanessa? Or did he just expect her to show up like she normally does?
amysusanne- 04-23-2008
Now that you mention it, it probably was a little out of character for her to not be at Jenny's party.
I haven't taken too much time to read actual plot synopses or waste too much time on Vanessa at all (in fact, when I said that Nate and E were the least interesting that's simply because I forgot Vanessa existed), but here is a pretty spoilery photo from next week's episode.

And thanks for the clarification, ikilledkenny. That makes sense.
fffaw- 04-23-2008
Vanessa is creepy. And as for that photo won't V & N together create some sort of great black hole of nothingness? Will they bore us to death? Can they go off on vacation somewhere and take Eric with them? I guess the fun of that pairing will be everyone else's reaction to it. Hmmm.....
amysusanne- 04-24-2008
A black hole. What a completely depressing and yet probably totally accurate thought. I think this whole G thing will make up for the boring, though, at least based on both Serena and Chuck's reactions at the end of this week's ep. And if it doesn't then at least Vanessa is wearing a pretty dress and awesome shoes in most of the promo pics for next week's episode. When all else fails, there's always fashion...
fffaw- 04-24-2008
Anyone who invokes that much terror in Chuck and Serena, I gotta see. I think it will be far from boring.
Yes, and there's always fashion. :-)
GG is the front cover of New York magazine this week and the whole article is a love letter to the show. I was on the subway this morning and it seemed like everyone was reading the article. Hee!
ikilledkenny- 04-24-2008
The cover creeps me out, though. Mostly because Taylor is 14 and she's in her underwear there.
There's a spoilery sneak peek hereif you want to see some Nate/Vanessa action.
I have to admit they're kinda cute but he's still a loser and the part about her taking SAT classes for Dan is...weird.
I really can't wait for the G/Serena stuff.
