The hissy fit I would throw if I didn't get tickets would be epic. You'd probably be able to hear my screams of rage all the way across the country.

No one's talking about How I Met Your Mother? Am I the only NPH fan on this board? Come ON people! There were major revelations last night. We should talk about those instead of *WAH!!!* House.
Apparently, I'm the only person who watches comedies. Y'all are too serious.
galaxygirl- 05-20-2008
RSH, I want to watch it and it's high on the Netflix list.
The only comedy I watch on TV is 30 Rock.
amysusanne- 05-20-2008
I haven't gotten to HIMYM yet. The dramas took precedent last night, so the comedies get their play tonight. I sort of can't wait but at the same time I don't know how I'll survive my HIMYM drought. Though at least we only have to wait a few months for it...it could very well have been cancelled. I didn't realize just how much I needed NPH and Segel on my television every week until there existed a very real chance that they would cease being on my television every week.

I've got HIMYM in my Netflix cue as well. I adore 30 Rock and that's pretty much the only sitcom I've kept up with in recent times.

If HIMYM had been cancelled I would have been a very angry individual. I need resolution! And regular doses of NPH's comedic stylings!
Besides, that Bob Saget voice over brings much gravitas to the program.

What doesn't Bob Saget bring gravitas to?

Um...*nothing*?
Just watched it. Loved it. Love Ted loving Barney and Barney loving Robin. It wasn't really as perfect as last season's finale, but I think that was probably just because last year's finale played like a series finale. This one, otoh, makes me mad that it's not going to be on next week.
If HIMYM had been cancelled I would have been a very angry individual.
Of everything on the bubble, that's the only thing I think I would have mourned. Actually, of everything on television period, that's one of the very, very, very, very short list of things I would mourn. Bless those Britney Spears rubberneckers for sticking around and giving CBS the ratings boost they needed to renew.

The only part that didn't ring quite true to me was Ted's proposal to Stella. At first, I wanted her to be the mother. I still want her to hang around for awhile, but I don't get how it makes sense if they get married soon and then don't have kids for 5-10 years.
Barney's realization that he loves Robin was perfect. NPH needs an Emmy right now. Marshall's miracles were so not miraculous. It wasn't the best episode-but it ended the season well.
Now can someone please tell me I read wrong and Britney won't be back next season.

The only part that didn't ring quite true to me was Ted's proposal to Stella.
The proposal seemed a little bit much, but I suppose that Stella could always channel Robin and both tell him no *and* get back together with him at a later date.

I want her to hang around, too. I guess Sarah Chalke's schedule could be worked around a tiny bit, but "Scrubs" means we probably won't see her again in any real capacity until midseason...if at all. I'm still drawn to that letter behind the kids and in Stella's house. I suppose there are any number of explanations for that, but it seemed like a real clue and not just a mindfuck from the producers.
Barney's realization that he loves Robin was perfect. NPH needs an Emmy right now.
He totally does. Maybe all the attention the show's gotten in the past few months will make him fresh on the voters minds and he'll get another nomination. After that there are a dozen different things he could submit.
Marshall's miracles were so not miraculous.
I'm willing to give Marshall the pencil in the nose. Myabe the Pope wouldn't, but I will. That was beautiful.
Now can someone please tell me I read wrong and Britney won't be back next season.
I'm probably jinxing it, but I can't see her back for more than one episode. Her first episode was cute and even though the rest of the cast and Sarah did the heavy lifting, she still made me laugh a couple of times. The second episode, though...blah. Not awful, had a few laughs, but not as funny as they probably thought it was when they wrote it. It didn't work. The weird thing, though, is that I *like* Abby as a character. But, it's done. Over. They don't need to go back to that well again and I hope they resist the urge.
That ad is awesome. I love me some Neil Patrick Harris.

I did not know this before about 2 weeks ago, but I have actually met the NPH. Turns out that way back in the day, we were in Santa Fe at the same time as a celebrity ski tournament. Kirk Cameron was also there. Why my parents chose to hide this from me for almost two decades is beyond me, it is the epitome of awesome.
sautomne- 07-07-2008
Doogie Howser was two decades ago?
Oh fuck. I'm old.

When I was in middle school he was here in Georgia filming "Cold Sassy Tree". A friend's brother was an extra in it and spent days and days telling us what a dick NPH was. He was supposedly soooooo arrogant. I think the irony of this guy bragging about his big movie (extra) role calling an actual actor in the film arrogant was lost on most. The dude wound up going to prison for trying to frame someone for murder so I think my stubborn solidarity with NPH paid off.
