Jim Parsons deserves a win.
Absolutely. He's so good. It's amazing how well he plays Sheldon.
I'm so pleased that Modern Family got so many nominations. But, did I miss something or did every adult on that show get nominated except Ed O'Neill? That's kind of awkward. If any of them win, it should be Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet, or Sofia Vergara. But, I'm hoping NPH wins in the supporting category.
Agreed with those wishing Craig would have been nominated. What's the deal? He's hilarious. Why no recognition?

I second that, he's great!

Couple of days late, but: I never thought I'd see the day *or* that I'd be so excited to hear the phrase "Mike O'Malley, Emmy Nominee". I'm so happy for him and Chris Colfer, the best father/son on television. I squealed a little bit at my desk when I read that Thursday morning. But, I was doing a lot of squealing, since most of the categories are stacked with people I love. Good year for me, as a fan. My only disappointments are no Craig Ferguson and a total shot out for "Community". I would obviously love for things like "The Big Bang Theory" to get some love, but I wasn't really expecting it so it's not a disappointment. Overall, totally psyched.
Craig Ferguson disappointment aside, I'm so happy to see Conan nominated and even if Craig was in there I would still be pulling for Conan. It would be a sweet way to go out and since he was nominated for the lovely, lovely final episode...well, come *on*.
And I'm pulling for Jim Parsons too. That would be the greatest "upset" possible. I'd love for Carell to win one before he leaves "The Office" but the unevenness of the show this year makes me content to accept that he'll probably get the consolation Emmy next year no matter how good the show actually is. Hopefully, at least.

I just hope so hard that Conan wins because the Emmy's are on NBC this year, the ultimate FU. I know if he wins he'll be delivering a speech worthy of the class act that he is. I haven't watched NBC since February and have no desire to do so in the future, I'm still too pissed off about what happened.
from Coco's Twitter:
Congrats to my staff on 4 Emmy nominations. This bodes well for the future of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.

I saw a very brief post-announcement interview with Don Mischer where they touched on the awkward that is Conan being up for an Emmy the year that the awards are back on NBC and how they will choose to handle it. They seemed to actually be taking it seriously, as if it's a huge issue and I'm amazed by that. Especially considering the fact that NBC likes to at least pretend that they're capable of making fun of themselves (while they clearly are not) *and* the nomination and win would both be filed away as a stat that NBC would be more than happy to trot out when needed. Plus, you know, the Emmys love Conan and *don't* love Jay so I can't imagine NBC was expecting anything different. Basically, I'm just confused by why anyone producing the Emmys would choose to give NBC some kind of "out" before they'd even begun production on the ceremony.
I hope he wins. I'll be watching that one with more interest and anticipation than any other category that night because even with all the Stewart/Colbert love, he's actually got a shot and it would be awesome to see it happen. And if not? Hearing Conan's name and the names of his writers all listed out in the reading of the nominations will be sweet.

If you haven't picked up this month's GQ comedy issue, here's the super, super, super awesome essay from Todd Levin about the last days of Conan's Tonight Show. It's really a compelling read. I wish it was twice as long as it is.

The entire issue is top notch this year. There's an incredible Bill Murray interview, a really long Garry Shandling interview/profile, a very funny interview with Paul Rudd, Zach Galifianakis and Tracy Morgan and lots, lots, lots more. Some of them are online, some of them aren't. I think the Murray interview has just been added.

I'm ridiculously in love with The Good Guys. What a fun show and it has fantastic music too. Bradley Whitford is hilarious and he works great with Colin Hanks.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Colin's dad to show up to guest star.
Chipmunk_love- 08-03-2010
Oh my goodness, I agree about The Good Guys. It is such a fun show. I really hope it doesn't lose any steam when it moves to Fridays this fall. That would be a shame.

Anyone seen Louis CK's new show "Louie"? It's bloody brilliant! Very well shot, music is great, it's hilarious but also very edgey and dark.

Just checking ... was that an hour of TV I just saw, or did "Glee" just hash together a bunch of Britney Spears for no reason other than doing Britney Spears? That was ... not so good from my perspective. (Except for watching Heather Morris dance.)
galaxygirl- 09-28-2010
Oh, I liked it a lot. Heather Morris is awesome, Lea Michele not so much. She needs to stay away from fast poppy songs. I also went from a love/hate relationship with Rachel to full on hate. And I don't think the final song fit the episode at all, I'm going to be annoyed if every episode ends with Rachel singing something.
I Floved Toxic.
In other comedy news, I'm relieved that HIMYM seems to be back on track. Two good episodes in a row, both better than the majority of last year's.
melly- 09-28-2010
I Floved Toxic.
Oh, that number was so freakin' wrong, it was right! I just about died laughing.
It wasn't my absolute favorite episode, but I didn't hate it either. I loved Toxic and loved getting to hear something other than Rachel singing ballads.
Besides, nexts weeks ep looks great.
galaxygirl- 10-04-2010
Please can I keep The Good Guys, pretty please FOX. I promise to be good all year if you guys by some kind of miracle don't cancel it. I just love that show so much and it's so doomed.

I'm going to totally admit to crying like a baby about 5 seconds into Kurt's song on Glee tonight. Chris Colfer needs to stop finding new ways to make me cry.
I was prepared for the "pull at your heartstrings" father/son stuff from the minute I saw the preview for this episode. I was not prepared for that song to turn me into a weepy mess.
galaxygirl- 10-06-2010
I didn't like this week's Glee as much as the previous two weeks. I didn't like Mercedes' attitude towards Kurt not believing in God(I mean that conversation in the hall about how she didn't know how to talk to him, honey, his father is in the hospital, how about just being a good friend and keep the religion out of it), I didn't really care about most of the songs and I hated Finn and his grilled cheese sandwich. Which he only used for selfish purposes, even after finding out about Burt and lashing out to Kurt about nobody telling him about it. AND THEN HE ATE IT! Which was really gross, because not only was it days old, he also took it to school, so it's been out of the fridge. Ew.
They did a magnificent job casting young Kurt, that boy looked so much like Chris Colfer, it's scary.
Also, I hope the Glee people know that Losing My Religion is not actually about religion.
