Namaste- 09-16-2009

The moment that Acafella began singing "Poison" I completely lost it. I think this episode worked better because Terri wasn't just a shrew, you could really see that she cared (if she felt guilty). And Quinn, the cheerleader, completely redeemed herself with her final line, so both of those characters really became much more rounded. (I don't want Sue to become rounded though. She's perfect just the twisted way she is.)

"The way you use your mental illness to help these kids is really inspiring." Oh Sue, don't ever change :haha:

fffaw- 09-17-2009

Sue is brilliant. And I never thought these words would leave my mouth but "I love Josh Groban" I agree Namaste - I was happy to see Terri & Quinn get some soul. I think that was something Popular also did extremely well - the characters were cartoony but they really threw in moments that made them beautifully, fallibly human. Who couldn't love a New Jack Swing acapella group? I laughed my ass off. Love this show. I'm starting to have a massive Matthew Morrison crush. One question - does anyone else have issues with the synch on this show? Not just during the singing but also during the talking - it just looks...off to me. I have a rather new tv (6 months old) and I don't have this problem with other shows, just Glee. Is it only me?

I'm starting to have a massive Matthew Morrison crush. After watching the pilot about fifty times this summer I just went ahead and scheduled a Matthew Morrison crush throughout at *least* the fall. He's too adorable in this role. I agree Namaste - I was happy to see Terri & Quinn get some soul. I haven't watched last night's (I'm kind of skimming these posts) so I don't yet know about any Quinn redemption, but I've been happy that they've tried to show us that Terri's selfish and nutty, but she's not a total monster. I would have hated her at the end of the last episode had it not been clear that she wanted to tell him and just chickened out. She's not evil, she's just really effed up. I'd like to see highschool Terri and see what it is that Will saw in her back then that I'm clearly not seeing in present day Terri.

I need to stop buying Glee songs from iTunes. Matthew Morrison is super cute.

Walmart (unfortunately it's an exclusive) has DVDs of the director's cut of the "Glee" pilot for 5$ a pop. It's the director's cut as aired a couple of weeks ago (with only "Leaving on a Jet Plane" added), not the cut that was circulating pre-first airing with the other bonus footage. The extras are very cute, but I think they're all online as well. But, it's 5$ and it's nice to watch the extras on tv rather than an ipod *and* you get a passcode for a cute and *free* "Glee" tshirt. If you can force yourself to set foot into Walmart, then it's worth picking up. It's certainly cheaper and more entertaining than the end cap crap that you *usually* wind up buying when you go into Walmart for one thing and come out with everything but that item.

The moment that Acafella began singing "Poison" I completely lost it. A tv show has not caused me to laugh so hard in a long time. Both "Acafellas" numbers were a blast to watch. (Whew! That kid with the mohawk can move.) Kurt coming out to Mercedes was really sweet and well done, too.

galaxygirl- 09-21-2009

FOX has ordered a full season of Glee!! Must be a relief for the people involved.

Another great episode of Glee. Loved Kurt joining the football team. Loved the Single Ladies dance, especially the one done by the football team. Rachel annoyed me a bit last episode.

Namaste- 09-24-2009

I like the fact that Rachel is a spoiled diva, actually, although I get her point about how she's still getting her lipstick flushed down the toilet and having drinks splashed on her. (Though obviously a lot of that goes back to the spoiled diva attitude.) Kurt's storyline was great, and I love his Dad. Also digging the subtle differences in the school through the show choir: Kurt's backup dancers at the start were Tina from original glee and one of the Cheerios who joined to "bring down" glee; the rest of the school (per the TV station owner) recognizes that Sue is losing some of her best people; the football team actually has three players voluntarily joining glee -- after winning. Oh, and how I loved Puck's trash talk. "I slept with your Mama, after I cleaned your pool. In your bed. Nice Star Wars sheets, by the way."

For those of you who download the Glee songs from iTunes, run, not walk, to iTunes and get Somebody to Love. It's amazing. Big Queen fan here and I'm very picky about covers. Spoiler barred, because the episode with this song hasn't aired yet.

fffaw- 10-01-2009

Did no one else watch Glee last night? Kristin Chenoweth was awesome as were all the songs. Somebody to Love was incredible.

galaxygirl- 10-01-2009

All the songs were fantastic, Kristin C deserves another Emmy for her performance. The full version of Somebody to Love is even more awesome.

radiosweetheart- 10-01-2009

So many great quotes. "I just cracked open some boxed wine." "I adore her." "I was aroused. Then I was furious." "I believe that's what's called the full Silkwood." Someone on my Facebook was upset because "Last Name" isn't appropriate for high schoolers. To each her own, of course, but I didn't know some of the people I went to high school with are older than my dear, departed Gran.

galaxygirl- 10-01-2009

So high schoolers don't listen to Carrie Underwood?
