So far Ed McMahon, Jerri Nielsen, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Billy Mays, Gale Storm and Fred Travelena.
It might be easier if we just made a list of famous people who didn't die in June 2009. This is getting seriously depressing.

Walter Cronkite is still alive, isn't he? *Hopes*
Tim Krekel, Louisville native and guitarist in the Coral Reefer band died on Thursday, too. He's not someone I'm specifically familiar with--but Jimmy Buffett's been the soundtrack to many summers.
ETA: Might've phrased that wrong--I've heard Cronkite is very sick, but haven't heard any further news.

Another June death, on the 30th:
Jan Rubes, at age 89. He was most well known for his role as the grandfather in Witness with Harrison Ford but he was in a lot of TV shows and movies including 6 episodes of Due South as Dr. Mort Gustafson as well as The X-Files and even Lassie. He was an opera singer in his first career and possibly the best Baron Zeta (the Merry Widow) that I remember seeing.

According to Ausiello, Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting the Emmy's on Sept. 20th.

Aw, no! He also played Lois Lane's father on Lois & Clark, the show that defined my early years. :(

He had a good voice. He played J.J. Brown in The Unsinkable Molly Brown.

And he was also in Paint Your Wagon, now that I think about it.

And he was the father-in-law in "Fargo," though I'm not sure that belongs in the TV comedy category.

Yeah, I mentioned it 4 posts upthread and I should have put it in the movies thread, but everyone was talking deaths here, so I thought I'd throw it in.

Not sure if this technically counts as a "comedy", but I'm not sure where else it would go, but my dad recently made me watch Top Gear. I love it! Even though I have an sadly lacking knowledge of cars, I thinks it's hilarious.
ETA: For A Bit of Fry and Laurie fans, Stephen Fry was a Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.

I adore Top Gear, and laugh more at it than nearly all other "comedies" out there.
The new season starts on BBC America (or the most recent season, if you're a Brit) tonight.

I just watched "Community" for the third time in as many weeks and I think I love it.

OK, so anyone else watching Glee? That show is busting me up. And I never knew Josh Groban could rock so hard. Not in the music sense, but in mocking himself. "Teenage groupies just don't do it for me anymore. Give me a blowsy alcoholic housewife anyday."
galaxygirl- 09-16-2009
I flove that show so much. I loved the Josh Groban thing because of what's his name, the mohawk kid, was talking about how hs girls didn't do it for him anymore.
I loved both of the songs the Acafella's did.
I don't think I have loved a new show, that I have actually watched from the start, so much from the get go since Lost.
