I loved Jon Stewart's remarks about Viacom suing YouTube. "Hey, Viacom. Why don't you sue them for a real number?" Awww, and Jon couldn't scribble on his script, so he ended up scribbling on air. Double awww.

Ipp-odds are TV cheese! (I'm going to have to say that to everyone now.)

So who wants to talk about QI? I was musing over my favorite panelists the other day. Aside from Alan, of course, I think I'd rank them in order of preference: Bill Bailey, Dara O'Briain, Rich Hall, Phil Jupitus, Sean Locke, Jonathan Ross and Jo Brand. I think Jeremy Clarkson is big jerk but he'll always gets points from me for the polar bear episode: Stephen: "Do you know how to stop a polar bear if it's charging at you?" Jeremy: "Shoot it in the face." And when Stephen and Alan explain that you take off your clothes (the bear will then become so distracted and start sniffing your clothes) Jeremy says, "And then the bear will eat you and think, 'Great. That one didn't have a wrapper.'"

I love Rich Hall. He's so grumpy and adorable. Have you ever seen the bit about The Moon and Cruithne?

Favorite panelists: Alan, of course, Bill Bailey, Rich Hall, Phil Jupitus, Jimmy Carr*, Sean Locke, John Sessions, Dara O'Briain, Jo Brand, a woman whose name I don't remember (Mia, Mila?)and on wh Phil Jupitus had a totally crush, and Jonathan Ross (what episode was he on?). There were a couple of others, but I'll have to look them up  I always wondered what I would say if I were to hve to opportunity to speak to Stephen. QI gave me my aanswer. If I were to meet Stephen on the street, I would say, "Excuse me, Mr Fry, but could you tell me what do they say of the Acropolis where the Parthenon is?" PS: Dr Spaceman, I'm a little surprised that you don't mention Jimmy Carr who was the author of the first icon I remember you using.

DrSpaceman- 01-10-2008

Ah yes, I forgot about Jimmy! I do adore him, I'd rate him probably above Phil Jupitus. Although it's close, because I love when Phil rips on Stephen's background. "FRY! CAMBRIDGE!" But Jimmy did Smarties tube-robots-cats legs, and he also of course started, "What do they say of the Acropolis where the Parthenon is?" I love Rich Hall. He's so grumpy and adorable. Rich says maybe one joke in an episode, but he always just kills Stephen which is awesome to see. They were discussing the Ku Klux Klan once and a photo of a cross burning appeared on the screen. Rich: "God, that's awful." Everyone agreed and was all serious faced. Rich: "No, I mean, that's awful. ::points at one of the KKK guys:: That's my uncle." Dara on how to pour Guinness. One of my favorite Alan moments, his Peter Cushing song.

Here is one of my favorite clips with Rich Hall, Alan Davies, Bill Bailey, and Jeremy Hardy. Alligators and The Earth's Moon And no one has mentioned Rob Brydon. I love him!

sautomne- 01-11-2008

Here's a clip with Rob Brydon talking about Jesus walking on custard. Here you go!

houserocket7- 01-11-2008

Here's a clip with Rob Brydon talking about Jesus walking on custard. Here you go! Oh, yes. I like him very much. I'll have to renumber my favorite QI panelists. Alan: Are all stars round. Stephen: I don't know. I suppose... Alan: And yet you claim to know what everyone thought 500 years ago. Stephen: Can I read books? Yes. Have I visited every star in the Universe? No. Is there something you find difficult to understand?" Love it!

DrSpaceman- 01-11-2008

Ha ha! And I love that Alan was then like, "Whoa. The follow-up question is, 'Is there something else bothering you, Mr. Fry?'" My favorite Stephen voice, BTW, is his Eton. "Come on now. Seriously. This is serious toast. No, really. I'm serious. Really senior toast."

Not to change the subject but has anyone ever watched "Spaced?" I heard that they are making an American version of it, which only ticks me off because apparently Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg weren't informed or involved or something to that effect.

That has to be one of my favorite comedies of all time. And that's horrible that Pegg/Wright didn't know about it. I tried looking it up on imdb, but got the "join imdb pro" thing instead. Jessica Hynes is such a doll too.
