I may be the only one who watched but I wanted to say kudos to Scrubs for last nights season/series finale. I loved how they managed to remind us of certain events throughout the show and then ended the episode with JD having a flash forward on their lives. By the end I was crying my eyes out but in a totally good way.
I know ABC is still deciding on whether or not to renew the show but I'm not sure if it would be the same without JD. Besides, I thought that was a perfect ending to a great show.

Esp the fact that interest dwindled after the 'Cecilia' chart. How do you live up to that?
I know, right? There's no topping that. He should have taken the win and retired gracefully.

I just got to it this afternoon. It was pretty wonderful. Exactly what a finale should be. It hit all the right notes, referenced some (though obviously not all) of the greatest moments, gave us a look back at some of the best guests of the hospital and reminded us that Hooch is, indeed, crazy. And Dr. Mickhead maintains his innocence!!!
I got all sappy at the end, too. It was sweet and nice up until the moment I saw Nurse Roberts and Jill Tracy and Mrs. Wilk and then I was a goner. The flash forward with the option to view it as another JD fantasy or a believable future was really lovely. Based on the fact that none of it really seems that out of left field (Of *course* the kids would get married!), I choose to go with "real".
I always loved that "Scrubs" could be deadly serious and obnoxiously wacky and (with the exception of a rough patch in the middle) always keep it balanced.

With half the cast already having new jobs (though most won't get picked up) and half the interns that they were going to build a new show around already gone it would be weird. It would be a whole new show. Of course I'd probably still watch it, but this was the perfect way for "Scrubs" itself to end. Anything else will just be a new, different model. I would definitely enjoy a show written around Jo, though...

Justin once again killed on SNL. I don't know what it is that makes him such a great host, but he's currently the best host there is and I don't even care much for him outside of SNL. He always delivers.

The Mom Translator cracked me up. And the great-great-grandson skit was pretty damn funny, too. I have much love for JT. His music is a'ight, but he's hilarious.
galaxygirl- 05-10-2009
Those were funny, the mom translator was hysterical. I'm currently on my third viewing of the Barry Gibb talk show, just because I love the opening song. And I'm probably the only person in the world who likes Jimmy Fallon on SNL.
amysusanne- 05-10-2009
I like Jimmy, too. Post-SNL I'm finding that a lot more people loved him than hated him, the haters were just much, much louder. I think those people are now spending their time loudly calling Kristin Wiig "overrated" and whining about how it's not fair that Jason Sudeikis gets more screentime than Andy Samberg. Everyone's mileage varies obviously, but the loudest isn't necessarily the majority.
Justin is always so awesome. And he's the only person with totally absurd recurring characters that you look forward to. I can't figure out why no other host has managed to pull that off lately. I can't be sure because certain periods in the nineties are a bit of a blur, but I'd guess the last to do that was Hanks.
I loved most of what everyone else seemed to love, but the one thing I haven't really seen anybody talking about this morning that I really enjoyed was the Disney sketch. The bit with Wiig shooting tourists was very, very funny. It's also the one most likely to require an apology at some point in the future.
I also enjoyed the "Star Trek" Update bit. Aside from the fact that Quinto and Pine are just so, so pretty to look at, the bit about "you're scraching my windows" killed me.

I'd have to say that JT and Alec Baldwin are always my fave hosts. Lots of fun last night. JT always knocks it out of the ballpark and the cast obviously adores him.

Celebrity Jeopardy rocked so damn hard this week. Tom Hanks was fantastic and NORM!!! made me squeal out loud. This might have been one of my all-time favorite CJ skits.
amysusanne- 05-18-2009
That definitely ranks up there with "I'll take the rapist...". It was genius. Hanks with a pickle jar on his hand, Hanks trapped in a dry cleaning bag, Kathie Lee drinking wine out of a baggie, Reynolds appearing out of nowhere and disappearing as quickly...and Connery. Poor Trebek. Lucy's never gonna let you kick the football, Charlie Brown...
galaxygirl- 05-18-2009
I loved Tom Hanks getting stuck in the dry cleaning bag and the way he kept talking into the pen was funny as well. I have no idea how Ferrell manages to keep a straight face during those skits.
Loved the HIMYM season finale. I'm not sure yet how I feel about Ted ending up with one of his students, right now it feels a little too Ross Geller to me, but hopefully she's a mid-twenties student and not a not even twenty one. It annoys me that CBS hasn't officially renewed the show yet. Sure it will be renewed, but they haven't bothered to let us know like they did with the Big Bang Theory.

I loved the premiere of Glee - reminds me of Popular - one of my all time favorite shows.
sautomne- 05-20-2009
I just watched Glee! This is me during the whole show ---> :D
I can't wait for this show. I should know by now that anything with Jane Lynch is going to be good!
And I laughed at the first scene with Stephen Toblowsky and the student. They were singing Where Is Love, which is one of the many show tunes my mom used sing to me when I was a kid.
amysusanne- 05-20-2009
Dude! I totally thought "this show reminds me of Popular" every single time I saw an ad for it. Totally the same level of camp and absurd and heart. I really liked it a lot. Though as much as I really, really, really enjoyed most of the first episode I really can't wait for the fall so I can see them do "Gold Digger". That's even better than the competing school doing "Rehab" and *that* was so awesome that I'm very close to heading over to itunes for both that and "Don't Stop Believing".
And I know that it's a show about a glee club and, thus, you have to have a lot of music, but I was really, really impressed with how they didn't skimp on the music. They must have shelled out some serious coin to cram that soundtrack as full as they did. It was excellent.
Namaste- 05-20-2009
It does look like it'll be fun. (And the new previews look like they'll be able to carry over for more than the pilot. "I'm Kurt, and I'll be auditioning for the role of kicker." Hee.
fffaw- 05-20-2009
Well. figured out why its so like Popular - same guy created it. :-)
I love, love, love that they're using two Broadway stars on the show: Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele.
LM was awesome in Spring Awakening. I heard that they may be adding Kristen Chenoweth & Victor Garber to the cast but I'm not sure if that is the truth or just wishful thinking on someone's part. It would be pretty ace though.
