My guilty pleasure viewing has been "The Family Guy" Stewie and Brian are bizarrely hysterical. And "Everybody Loves Raymond" makes me laugh - something about the familiarity of the family dynamics....

My guilty pleasure viewing has been "The Family Guy" Stewie and Brian are bizarrely hysterical. Me too. I do think it has declined in quality but Stewie and Brian keep me tuned in. My one complaint about Brian is that when he gets into one of his speeches, it seems like it's just Seth McFarlane taking the opportunity to spread his views, there's no joke or anything, just him spouting off about whatever he wants to. It can get annoying and kind of preachy. I do like That 70's show, mainly because of Red. He's hilarious. You know you're obsessed with DPS when you harbor a slight, irrational resentment towards Red Foreman. I do love That 70's Show.

Some of the songs are cute but you're right, it does get old after a while, but I doubt that I'll ever stop watching, I love it too much. For some reason, I love Joe. Outside of the family, he's my favorite character. Patrick Warburton has the perfect voice for animation.

I love the Jolly Farm episode. (I really can't stand all of the show's pointless asides, but Stewie and Brian make it worth it. ELR just makes me laugh. I identify a lot with Robert and Raymond's relationship and am starting to identify with the in-laws situation, but thank goodness we don't live next door.

I think I read somewhere that Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle decided together to play their parts straight as if they were in a drama that had funny moments instead of a sitcom. I think that worked well.

Raymond's parents are by far my favorite characters on the show, followed by poor Robert.

Raymond's parents are by far my favorite characters on the show, followed by poor Robert. Absolutely! One of my favorite episodes is when Robert gets an interview with the FBI. Marie and Robert made me laugh until I cried.

I like ELR a lot, but I quit watching it about halfway through. I still see episodes in syndication that I've never seen before. The funny thing about that show is that it was so cookie cutter. It was just a typical, classic sitcom that embraced all the cliches, but it was also occasionally weird and subversive and it was definitely mean. It was a nice, cute, family sitcom on the surface, but there was probably more pent up hostility and cruelty in a handful of episodes than in the entire run of something like "The Larry Sanders Show". I enjoy that.

I enjoy that. Well said! Its meanness and drama comes out of the blue sometime. For example, in that same FBI episode I talk about above, Marie breaks down crying in the FBI guy's office and you actually realize how much she cares about Robert.

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are back. Lots of strike comments. Stewart showed some of the speechless vids, shouted a lot, was pretty funny. Colbert can't believe it's the writers who put the words in his teleprompter. He points to the Word, but, of course, there's no word. I'm glad to see them back on the air, especially in an election year.

He points to the Word, but, of course, there's no word. I missed the show last night - I completely forgot about it - but just watched the segments on the website. The Word part was hilarious! Still my favorite part of the show, even with no word.

I liked Jon Stewart referring to the "American Motion Picture and Television Producers ... or NAMBLA," then says that joke is grandfathered in. Oh NAMBLA how I've missed you -- and how I feel awkward about whether I should laugh about it or not.

I laughed. Yep. the National Man Boy Love Association - and a long-running joke for TDS in which every organization is also known as NAMBLA. (Dang, now I have to go see if You Tube has a copy of the compilation of NAMBLA jokes that they did earlier this year. ETA: Found it! (though the actual clip is only about half the length. The rest is rambling by some random dude.)
