How about: Countdown until Steven Tyler falls off the stage again? or Love In An Elevator Music? or I Don't Want To Miss A Thing Except For This Show? or Janie's Got A Remote And She's Gonna Change The Channel (AKA Run Away)

I'm not sure what to make of all the changes I'm hearing about. Not just JLo and Steven Tyler as the new judges, which I see as pure ratings and total trainwreck material but changes to the show itself. It sounds like they want to get rid of the instruments, no more theme weeks(it seems that they just want their contestants to stay in their assigned box) and that's a shame because one of my favorite Kelly Clarkson performances was during big band week, the whole lowering the age limit to 15 still rubs me wrong and it sounds like people older than 25 should just not even bother, there will only be one mentor for the entire season who's going to make sure that things happen exactly the way. A lot of it sounds very X-factor like, which I think is what's the real problem. I think they are really worried about X-factor/Simon. Also, the other Aerosmith band members are pissed, mainly because they found out through the press.

The show sounds unwatchable to me. I can't imagine choosing to listen to J-Lo's opinion on anything. Add in the 15 yr olds and the way they're going to let the performers stay right where they started, genre wise, is just a formula for TV I don't want to watch. I'm not even morbidly curious. I just don't want to see it.

Okay. I don't watch Idol. I do read the news. Was JLo's meltdown the real thing or acting?

I'm a big old cynic, the first thing I thought of was ratings.

I saw it, but it didn't really strike me as that big of a deal. After Paula's histrionics all those years, I expect some irrational behavior or it just isn't Idol.
