The commercial with David A. is funnier. He's wearing boxers that come half-way down his thigh. It kinda ruins the effect.
But imagine the fan reaction to future marketing had Archie won.

The Archie one is sooo wrong. One poster over at the other place said that she was expecting Chris Hansen to show up at her door because she watched it
that the producers were scared that David A. would win -- because they knew they couldn't control or package him as they wished. And that was added to conspiracy theory that Simon's compliments to David A. were merely to fuel David C. votes in opposition to Simon.
The way they pimped that kid all season long I was certain they wanted him to win. (Although Simon did look suspiciously pleased that Cook won, despite being hard on him the night of the finale).
LOL. I'm sure the judges comments did motivate some Cook supporters to vote, but I also think that as contestants like Michael , Jason and Carly were eliminated their voters were much more likely to move to Cook than Archie.
I was glad to see Cook win. Poor guy looked so truly moved, it was sweet.
l
Why? Did they think Daddy Dearest would be a problem? David A. isn't a songwriter. He just sings what Daddy tells him to, so I find it odd that the producers would fear his winning. He's as ready as anyone that's ever floated through their doors to be packaged and sold. It's not as if David A. has a strong will or clear artistic vision of who he is.
I wish I could find the article now, but yeah, it's a Daddy issue. The last thing they want to deal with is another Joe Simpson.

It helped, I was pissed enough to vote even harder. I also heard from Jason, Michael, Carly ect. fans who were pissed about it that they votes and I've heard of people who never vote, who picked up the phone and voted. If this was the plan all along, it was a risky one, and well played tptb.
I'm still not watching next year.
I'm sure I'll watch next year. I doubt I'll ever be as won over by a contestant as I have been by David Cook though. I thought I loved Chris Daughtry... but I love Cook much more. Last year I didn't really care much one way or another who won or lost.

Remember--he'll be on Larry King again tonight.
Have you seen any comments from the judges about the outcome? I wonder what they had to say.
Larry King tonight, Ellen tomorrow and the Regis and Kelly show tomorrow as well I believe. I was supposed to be off tomorrow, but nooooo *grumble grumble*
I can't get enough of Sharp Dressed Man. I need to find a better mp3 of that.
That's about 18 different levels of confusing.
In other Idol news... Congrats to Cookie for OWNING the Billboard Top 100 this week--11 debut songs on the Top 100; 14 debut songs on the Top 100 Digital Downloads; a #3 entry for his first single if I remember it all correctly.

I think I read that the all his single/AI performance sales combined for this week tallied up to almost a million downloads  He's going to be so huge.
The magic rainbow line in Time of my Life still makes me giggle, but he makes it sound somewhat convincing. I really like the song the way he's been performing it on all those shows he's done. Just him singing and a piano accompanying him.
