I think the last songs were very telling: Cook did something DIFFERENT and took a RISK. Archie did the same old-same old. It showed that he hasn't gotten any better since the beginning and he's just a nice karaoke singer. They should have made them sing together last night--can you imagine if they'd done Hero? Cook really outshone Archie on that tonight. Even if they'd picked a whiney ballad for them to sing together I think a duet would have shown that Cook really has the stronger/more versatile voice.

David sounded awesome on Hero.

Have I missed something or are the judges practically mute tonight?

galaxygirl- 05-21-2008

What the fuck is Randy wearing? Bryan Adams!!! I missed stripper David. He's pretty. OMFG, did you all see that Guitar Hero commercial?? I fucking died.

extra_cat- 05-21-2008

No I must've missed it.... who was in it?

galaxygirl- 05-21-2008

Remember Tom Cruise in Risky Business? That dance he does in his tighty whities? It was David Cook. I died. Screencaps I died again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfieqankw2c

FUCK YEAH!!

Poeia- 05-21-2008

I guess he didn't need my 50 or so votes.

galaxygirl- 05-21-2008

It was only by 12 million :)

arizonamyrie- 05-21-2008

Hooray! They didn't happen to say how many votes there were?

galaxygirl- 05-21-2008

Over 97 million. It was 56% for Cookie and 44% for Archie.

extra_cat- 05-21-2008

YES!!!!!!! Okay, I've stopped screaming and jumping up and down now. I've been on the phone with my two best friends. One called me for moral support and the other just called to squeal in my ear since our guy won!

arizonamyrie- 05-21-2008

That's awesome! So many times in the past it's been 50/50 - or at least it was with Clay/Reuben. But 56%? Awesome!

Namaste- 05-21-2008

OK, I'll admit that I didn't really give a crap, but it was interesting to see a story in ... I think it was on MSNBC.com today ... that the producers were scared that David A. would win -- because they knew they couldn't control or package him as they wished. And that was added to conspiracy theory that Simon's compliments to David A. were merely to fuel David C. votes in opposition to Simon.

extra_cat- 05-21-2008

Why? Did they think Daddy Dearest would be a problem? David A. isn't a songwriter. He just sings what Daddy tells him to, so I find it odd that the producers would fear his winning. He's as ready as anyone that's ever floated through their doors to be packaged and sold. It's not as if David A. has a strong will or clear artistic vision of who he is.
