Simon pimped Archie to high heavens. He's been saying for weeks that Cook is his favorite. Which is why I'm beyond pissed and so done with this show after tomorrow's result show. Simon is actually a really nice guy off show.

For the life of me I don't get how DA's second song was supposedly better than Cook's. In reality it probably doesn't matter who wins, since they'll both wind up with contracts. David Cook, imho, has the potential to be one of the best artists to ever come out of this circus of a show. I think he'll sell many records win or lose.

I know this will be an unpopular opinion but I don't want David Cook to win. I think he will win but I think musically it would be better for him not to win. David A will be marketed and sold on his youth much the same way that Jordin Sparks was. If you look the most successful people coming out of American Idol were those who had control over their own destinioes. Daughtery, Kelly third album. I think DC has a good idea where he wants to be musically and how he wants to sound and I don't see the tag of American Idol winner helping him with that.

Second placers never get the marketing the winner gets. That's why I want David to win. I don't want him to end up with an album like Bo or treated like Blake. Let's face it, the only second placer to do well for himself was Clay and that's because I'm convinced he was the actual winner that season.

It's the people who've never bothered to vote before that could sway it. I mean, Cook could have stopped singing and thrown up and I still would have voted for him until I fell asleep (literally, holding my cell phone). LOL I really think Simon WANTS Cook to win and I wonder if he was hard on him because he wanted to light a fire under the collective asses of the Cook fans so they wouldn't think he was too safe to beat.

I wondered that, but I have come to the conclusion that that is giving the show too much credit and a very risky thing to do. Simon was way too harsh and his reaction on the coronation songs shows that he has shitty taste in music. If it was reverse psychology or not, it backfired immensely, because no matter the outcome, I'm so disgusted by the show I'm never coming back. I thought they were mean to Blake last year, that was nothing compared to what they did to David. If it was a set up I wish they would have told him because you could see him slowly breaking through the show. I think Simon's main problem was that David refused to play the game the way Simon wanted it and didn't reprise. David did it his way and more power to him.

Since I won't be home tonight (Kids in the Hall at the Ryman--WOOT!!!) I have cheated by checking DialIdol and zabasearch rankings. Now I can enjoy the KitH show with a mind at ease. It would be SO tacky to be browsing the interwebs for breaking news stories during the Head Crusher skit.

Zaba is notoriously unreliable and DI doesn't count text votes. I'm going in expecting an Archie win, makes it much easier to deal with the nerves. If by any chance David did pull off the win, I probably cry for the rest of the week.

For every Kelly, Leona and Carrie you have a Reuben, Fantasia and Taylor. I think losing this competion is better for artists who know what they want to do, your Chris Daughtery and Jennifer Hudson. You have the exposure of being ont eh show but none of the stigma that is attached to winning. JMHO

But there's only been one 2nd place person to have a decent career: Clay. Who remembers Katherine McPhee, Blake Lewis, Justin Guarini.... I don't even know who was 2nd to Fantasia. Bo Bice seemed like he would have a good career either way, but he didn't. I think you either have to win or get out earlier than the Top 2. So I shamelessly want him to win! :)

So... do you think that 56% vs 44% goes hand in hand with DialIdol's estimates?

I hope so, because if it doesn't, DI was very very off. I'm sure Archie has to give that free car to his Daddy. Amanda looks like she doesn't want to be there lol. All three of the Stooges back tracked what they said last night during the pre-show on TV Guide channel.
