I thought it was the fact that Wilson couldn't do his work because House didn't help him, and Wilson was in that position because of House, that made Wilson angry in 'Whack-A-Mole'. I think we are reading the scene very similarly--Wilson did feel that this situation was different in that he was in such a horrible position due to House's actions and House should care, regardless of what was happening on his case. It's not an unreasonable position :D . But I don't think House would ever react differently, not because he doesn't love Wilson or know at some level he owed Wilson, but because his wiring makes him obsessive and the definition of obsessiveness includes not being able to turn it off at will. I think Wilson understood very well in that scene what Stacy meant when she said she loved House but she felt lonely in a relationship with him. It's hard knowing that you will always come second to a work obsessed man. I know House doesn't present as the usual portrait of a work-a-holic, but when he does work, he has blinders on.

New to posting, but not so new to the site. Am a House/HL fanatic {"I'm an addict.">. Just want to say that I think Season Two is my favorite overall, perhaps because of the mix of episodes and types of patients, and styles of episodes. For instance, I recently rewatched The Mistake. I'd forgotten how complex the story telling is - the story progresses and back tracks and rewinds - as Chase, Stacy and House work out a version of the truth while they and we learn what actually happened. (And there's the moment when House is watching House in the surgeon's office - a touch of sheer genius!) And the complex interiorality (sorry for the made up word) of No Reason - on first viewing we don't realize it's House's mind we're watching, although certainly we know something is not quite right and are madly suspending disbelief (eating Mexican food outdoors with his team, in his hospital gown???). I myself really liked the Stacy arc, although she did wrong by him (I just couldn't swear I might not have done something similar). In Season II we get to learn so much about House and the other characters, maybe in particular Chase. For me, Season I is good although Vogler was really not fun, Season II is great, Season III is good but sometimes almost too painful to enjoy (House's near destruction and the damage he inflicted on Wilson in particular, can be taken by me only in small doses), and Season IV - I withhold judgment till I re-see them all at least once more.
