I'm most definitely interested in finding out how House and Wilson met. I'm also curious as to how it's brought up in this episode. Do they talk about it themselves or is it brought up by someone else.
What I personally would love to see happen but I doubt it immensely, is that we find out that they actually had something along the lines of two "first meetings".
The second when they are adults and when their friendship really starts.
But, the first one happened when they were much younger, early teens or so, and was maybe just a passing thing. Wilson has completely forgot but House has always remembered the where and whens of it. Maybe on the road trip then House takes them there. Wilson has no idea what's going on, questions House and House tells him that this is where they first met. Wilson says it isn't because he doesn't remember and House proceeds to recall every little detail of that day.
I know, I know...highly unlikely and no doubt the timeline and ages don't fit, but a girl can dream, can't she? :D

I demand that Wilson predate Stacy
Don't worry LMC, I doubt Stacy had anything to do with their first encounter
Whether they choose to tell us the exact period of time or not, one thing it's certain, Wilson should be very young. I don't think that House would be impressed by an eager young doctor, but as he told us in NC, he's impressed by the way that Wilson's mind seems to work - it was a compliment, really, even if sounds more like an offense - so I'm more inclined to believe that it was something that Wilson said or did that caught House's attention. It could be something related to medicine, but maybe not, since they chose to tell us their story with them out of PPTH.
I'd like it if they met at a moster truck rally
That's a lovely idea! :P

Do we know what epi the boys are officially 'friends' again? Is the road trip it? Or maybe the one after it?
Well, DE wrote or co-wrote Birthmarks and I believe in an interview with her she also said something about being approached to write their reconciliation and she said yes, so unless she wrote two episodes very close together or they don't make up for a long time, I think this where we will see them make up and officially be friends again. Now, that doesn't mean that everything has to be rainbows and puppies after that but I think that's when they will both start to work on getting their relationship on track. At least, I hope so, I can't take much more of them being apart, it's painful.

Hee, it's just that I prefer as much history between House and Wilson as possible. It just makes it better and more complicated for me. I mean, I don't want them to have known each other from childhood or anything like that (that wouldn't make any sense at all) but from adulthood, I prefer that they met when Wilson was pretty young, YMMV.

I'll dream with you reven!
And not to start a whole thing again, but someone mentioned upthread that Blythe could have met any of the team between No Reason and Meaning.
There's also the possibility that she knows Cuddy from the infarction. Stacy may have been the only one there during the actual event, but it's still very possible that Stacy or Wilson might have called House's parents so that they could come to see him while he was recovering in hospital. If that happened, they could easily have met Cuddy.

Hell, we could even go so far to say that Blythe met Cuddy when both she and her son were going to school together, depending on how "close" House and Cuddy really were. In my mind, that's almost as likely as House meeting Wilson when Wilson was in med school, and we have just as much evidence for it.

Get those DVRs ready. Episode 5 is titled. "Lucky 13." Aren't you all just dying with excitement?

So I assume this is the "OMG! He fired 13!" episode? Woot.
extra_cat- 09-29-2008
I'm sure. These days, House fires 13 almost as often as his own life hangs in the balance. It's so... shocking!
I thought I wished there was a way to know for sure if Chase was in an episode before now. Now, I wouldn't even bother recording this one to fast forward and look for Chase/Cameron/Wilson if I could know that ahead of time. I wonder if this episode will turn off another two million viewers? Then the Chase/Cam episode (6) will probably get the lowest ratings of the season thanks to the crap that came before it.

Hopefully this is the episode that also has the flashbacks of 13 in it so we can get that finished all in one fell swoop.

I'm trying not to be too negative about 13, but come ON. Now she gets an episode named after her? House had some, but the show's named after him so that's a given. The only other character I can think of is Wilson with Wilson's Heart and that episode was the most fantabulous thing ever. And now they're cheapening the HH/WH eps by naming one after 13...Fine, it's just a title, but it's the straw that broke the camel's back.

I think Wilson's willingness to sacrifice himself for House during the Tritter arc suggest that Wilson was fairly young when he met House. In S4's Don't Ever Change, we learned that the ONLY emotional connection Wilson had established in his adult life was with House. Then in Not Cancer, Wilson confirmed this when he said to House "there's a world beyond you, House". But so much of when House and Wilson met hinges on Wilson's age. We know that House is the same age as HL but we don't know Wilson's age.
Do we know if Wilson will be in 503?

The flashbacks maybe but there is still a multi-episode Thirteen arc with Lori Petty's character that we can all look forward to.
At least Shore has the foresight to reunite House and Wilson in the previous episode. Without that with the audience thinking that Wilson will be gone as well as Cameron and Chase and with Thirteen becoming the new co-star of the show, I wonder what those ratings would have been like.
If the hostage episode weren't already in the can, if I were on set I'd be tempted to shoot 13 myself.
Chipmunk_love- 09-29-2008
I do believe that Thirteen does have an interesting story line -- the doctor with the death sentence. However, to have it shoved at us the way that it has been is very disheartening. I seriously hope that we just get it over with in this episode (well aware that the other arc is down the line) and then move on as best as possible.
OTOH, we are getting development from other characters. For example, tomorrow night seems to be all about Taub. We are in the middle of this amazing H/W arc. H/Cuddy and Chase/Cam arcs in the waiting. While the Thirteen story line seems to be the new "OMG! Cam has a crush" or "OMG! Foreman's just like House" arc, I don't think yet this season that characters are being wasted. I mean, we'll talk again midseason once many of these stories have played out, but I haven't lost hope yet.
Then again, I try to see these things as Vicodin-bottle half full. If they can pull everything back to the central character, then I'll be pleased.

I hear ya! And I totally sympathize but I just want to point something out to everyone (this isn't directed at you Ariadne but all our posters):
Once we get past our initial angst (disgust?) when new spoilers come out, if you want to continue to rail about various and sundry things that you feel are sucktastic, take it to the Bitterness thread so those who aren't as bothered don't need to wade through 47 posts of "I hate 13" or whatever we're disliking this week. However, remember - no untagged spoilers in the Bitterness thread.
For some of you, the beginning of this season has been rough and some people are questioning their loyalty to the show. For many other folks, this isn't the case in the slightest. So let's keep this thread focused on spoiler discussion and any future grumpiness in the Bitterness thread. A place for everything and everything in its place.
Thanks,
Fid

I'm not sure where all the "shoving down the throat" even is. 13 was featured in the premiere, though not to the extent that Cameron was in One Day, One Room, nor Foreman in the Euphorias--more like Chase in Kayla's death or Cameron in the euthanasia ep, and there were several posts that now it would be all 13, all the time. But 13 was very much in the backseat last ep, and Kutner more featured. Next Tuesday Taub gets his turn. We know there are two eps coming up that majorly feature Cameron, and one of those majorly features Chase as well. We know Foreman gets a feature pretty soon, taking on a case of his own and Cam and Chase feature in that. We know House and Cuddy are going to get some concentration very soon and of course, we're getting lots of House/Wilson now--all this should play out by mid-season. Even with 13 getting more exploration of her HC, how is this all 13, all the time?
eta sorry fiddy, your post came as I was typing mine. Feel free to ignore if not appropriate any more.
