I don't think we're going to get any more information on what exactly The Fire of Love is or what the significance of its season finale is than that clip that's already released, so I'm not sure there's much else to it worth dissecting. I'm content to let it just be "another point to the BGW camp" (I'm putting up tents for S4 already) and nothing more significant.

Actually, I do feel a little better. And I could talk about this for hours and hours; it's a really fascinating topic to discuss.
Good. 'Cause I could too.
I think the photograph definitely intended a Last Supper scene. There are even three windows in the background to drive the comparison home, visually, if there were any doubts. As to who's in what position, I'd like to think that whoever was responsible for the set-up tried to draw character parallels, but I'm not sure that happened. As I've learned, it's difficult to compare these characters to Biblical persons, since they're equally complicated. (It is fun, though.) I'm just not sure someone would put that much effort into a publicity photo beyond its basic elements, but if someone were to do a Last Supper recreation, I'd hope they'd do their research.
Think of the effort they put into a chess scene that no one would even really see. I think it's possible they would. They certainly have Chase with his hand on Cameron (John) to distinguish Peter instead of Judas position. That's kind of an odd position to have one hand on her shoulder and the other working on the patient.
And, if nothing else, at least it's something different to discuss. :sherlock:

I'd like to think there was actually some thought put into this, though I'm not sure we'll ever know.
I don't think they put even a tiny fraction of the amount of thought that we've put into it. Not that there's anything wrong with that (it's fun) but I don't think there are hidden meanings in it. It was a concept vaguely used in the "Bones" promo shots as well, though they framed it in a much "look at me, I'm whimsical!" kind of way. I could have sworn that it was also used for a "Prison Break" shot, but this morning I can't find that one so it could be a figment of my imagination. I think that, like most photographers, the one in charge of this shoot has certain tableaus that he likes and that's one of them.

Yes, I'd spend less time considering who represents which disciple and more time dissecting in ludicrous detail the spatial relationships. Not to get too Da Vinci Code on you all, but Cameron is in the position of the Mary Magdalene figure (if you believe the theory). Still, I love that Wilson's closest. Makes my little shippy heart fill with glee.
Jouse- 09-21-2007
Not only he's closest, his whole body is turned to House and he is gazing at him with the most intense face... *melts into oblivion*

That expression on Wilson's face can't be any thing other than HoYay. It's so full of love , longing, and *hopefully* lust.
LightMyCandle- 09-21-2007
Wilson just needs to stand next to House in all the promo shots from now on. I'm so in love with that pic. Cuddy with her hand on Wilson's shoulder, Wilson staring so intensley at House...*falls into the shallow end*
I'm one happy shipper right now. :P
BTW, Chase and Cameron are now wearing the same tones, that with ther hair, it's really getting creepy.

Very detailed blow-by-blow of ep 2 has been posted at the other place (by the same poster who put the ep 1 description) so you have been warned - don't read if you want, for example, to be surprised about the PotW's medical situation.
here
Includes an explanation for the Arizona thing, the hooker thing, what Chase & Cameron are doing, lots of stuff on the newbies & a degree of Wilson love. Oh & Chase in surgery apparently ;D
Also this article
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20891958/ includes a reference to Anne Dudek's character (Amber) as a cunning new doc who pulls out some tricks to get rid of her competition.

I adore the new Last Supper portrait of the cast and of course all of the erudite dissection from you here on this thread. I agree with those who have commented that probably the photographer and stylist spent more time thinking about the poses, the lighting, clothing, and props than about the New Testament iconography.
In that vein then, I find it noteworthy that Wilson and Cuddy are closest to House, that Cuddy is dressed yet again in that delicious pink top whose color is echoed on the other side of the tableau by the background panel, and that this causes the eye to travel toward her repeatedly. Her singular and overt gesture of assistance toward House and the intensity of her gaze at him set off lovely vibrations in my heart. Season 4 is going to be good!
LightMyCandle- 09-21-2007
House doesn’t seem mad at Wilson on any real level.
And that's all that matters to me.
The HAM thing that Ausiello is just soooo happy about sounds like nothing special, so whatever.
Jouse- 09-21-2007
Cuddy's hand on Wilson is giving me stomach pains. Thank god Wilson's body and mind are obviously set on House :P
I've read only the Wilson bits in the BBB of eppy 2. I trust DE that there are more of them than what has been posted. And teehee! on House calling Cam a hooker.

It's certainly possible. And I think, to a degree, they thought about the positions of each person. (The hand placement you mention struck me immediately and made me think that their placements weren't complete accidents.) But I think they could only focus on placements to a point. Even if they thought that Wilson and Cuddy didn't parallel their respective disciples, it would be silly to put them farther away from House, with random nurses in between them. Or something. Spacial relationships and all that.
saara_zaara- 09-21-2007
Yeah for Chase growth continuing - he says no! This is really all I care about ;D (well, right now anyway) but I admit the newbie stuff sounds fun, partic the Carmen Argenziano & Edi Gathegi characters.
Oh, google alert, let me count the ways I love you, longish & good read of an LA Times article today about the season changes, minor spoilers, but nothing frequenters of this thread won't have seen, so I'm not posting it as a new spoiler.
LA Times article - make sure you read page two, click at the bottom of the page.
One new piece of info - it mentions that ep 8 is the one they are working on now & where they making the decisions on which of the two or three fellows to keep.
melly- 09-21-2007
I am so interested in seeing how that plays out between House and Chase. Hugh and Jesse are so awesome at the subtle things and I can almost picture House sort of silently testing the waters to see if Chase would come back.
saara_zaara- 09-21-2007
FYI, today has been a rip roaring day for spoilers (see the earlier post on the spoiler thread for the details of ep 2 if you're interested).
From futoncritic here EPISODE 3 SUMMARY
HOUSE DIVIDES HIS REMAINING FELLOWSHIP CANDIDATES INTO TWO TEAMS FOR SOME HEALTHY COMPETITION
The final 10 fellowship candidates compete ferociously when House splits them into two teams by gender. They are assigned to diagnose and treat a wheelchair-bound man with muscular atrophy who is slowly suffocating. As the two teams are trying to one-up each other, complications arise when one team treats the patient but doesn't follow through to make sure their treatment was executed. While the students are busy with their assignment, House experiments on himself to see what happens in the moments when people hover between life and death. Meanwhile, Foreman runs his own team of fellows in his new job at another hospital, and resorts to using a very "House-like" treatment to help a patient in the "97 Seconds" episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, Oct. 9 (9:0010:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
