For me, as a Huddy fan, I am looking forward to it. And may I say that LE has an incredible body and looks better than some 20 year olds. I am thoroughly jealous. I also don't see this similar to robot sex because House/Cameron never had the sort of relationship that House/Cuddy does. House has been very clear for 4 seasons that he is attracted to Cuddy and also respects what she does even though he plays havoc with her. He knows without Cuddy, he has no job. Noone else would put up with him. In my view, she totally gets him.
TPTB has been slowly working toward a closer relationship between House and Cuddy and from DS said, it will be explored in Season 5. I also think whatever they decide to do, it will fit with the characters and the shape of the show. They are not simply going to put it in there for the hell of it. They don't work that way. All I can say is I am totally psyched about it.

To me, dressing up a 40-ish woman with a great body, as a 16 year old teenage idol is not a great way to show House fantasizes about her.
However, it's complicated, because she's in his hallucination, rather decently dressed, and he starts snarking about the way he would like to hallucinate about her :? . So, in his real hallucination, she is her real self?
I'm confusing myself, but what I want to say, is that I'm fine with the idea House is attracted to Cuddy, but I would have preferred it if they would have displayed that in a more dignified way.

Number one: House? Dignified?
Number two: She is conservatively dressed at the start of the scene. It's only when she starts challenging him that his imagination dresses her up ... or down, if you prefer, which would mean that subconsciously their arguments turn him on. Wilson was right back in the first season when he pointed out that all their sniping was just a cover.

Is there a consensus on who follows whom onto the bus? For the sake of argument I'm assuming the speculation about Amber being on the bus is correct. In my mind House follows Amber on to the bus and spends his time struggling to remember why he followed her there in the first place.
As for his Cuddy Spears fantasy it disappoints me that House's sexual fantasy of Cuddy lacks wit, imagination and sophistication.

I love Cuddy Spears...
I suppose everyone here have fantasies, right? It's a guy's fantasy... You can fantasize about anything and this is House, the same guy that during a serious procedure, throughout a webcam, puts Let's Get It On in the background to mess with the woman. I don't think it's particularly revealing of anything (though I'm not a H/Cuddy shipper, so I'm biased). She enters in his fantasy like his boss, but since it's his fantasy, why not to enjoy a little? I think it's supposed to be funny, not meaningful. And it's also a great teaser
NightOwl- 05-10-2008
Such fantasies are not generally witty, imaginative, or sophisticated. Even for a genius like House. They are base, crude, simple, etc. That's the nature of it.
daughterofcomaguy- 05-10-2008
Remember in Airborne, Cuddy told House to use his imagination while he was examining her? He stated that 2 of his fantasies were "schoolgirl Cuddy and Mother Superior Cuddy" We've seen the former, what about the latter ?

I've come up with another reason why I think Amber will die in the finale. The main thing that has worried Wilson since the beginning of the series is that he would somehow lose House. All variations scare him whether it’s House being fired, becoming more physically incapacitated, going to jail, an overdose or crashing his motorcycle. His worst fear being House’s death. Now with House’s proxy, Amber dying Wilson will have to face his ultimate fear coming to pass.
In S5 once Wilson has been able to deal with the loss of Amber, hopefully with the help of House caring for him, I think his anxiety about permanently losing House will eventually ratchet back up again and perhaps surpass its earlier heights, throughing him into caregiver overload. ETA, Unless he just becomes resigned to the idea of lose and feels he is completely incapable of doing anything to keep House safe so he stops trying. Although that feeling of ineffectiveness could actually be part of his dealing w/ Amber's death and during that time he is so backed off that House gets together with Cuddy.
BTW, House greatest fear I think is clearly not death since he tempts it so much but becoming totally incapacitated. I’m beginning to think that’s why he hangs with the coma and vegetative state guys, not just because he’s looking for a quite room to hide in but because he thinks he could wind up there from pill/alcohol combo, overdose, accident and he like with everything else he wants to observe and know what it’s like in case he does.
As for his Cuddy Spears fantasy it disappoints me that House's sexual fantasy of Cuddy lacks wit, imagination and sophistication. I agree that it's base but I think that is the point.
My initial reaction to seeing stuff like that is always  of course, can't be an attractive woman with out showing off the goods but here there is likely more at play. House can't see Cuddy as the person she really is as just a sex object, because of that in his fantasy he "dresses" her down. I'm guessing using some of the memory from what he saw in the strip club.
It may be part of the real conflict in there future coming together.
If they are to get together he could deal with her intimately in bed, away from the hospital, but as soon as they are back at work her authority over him will be like all authority Hise comes in cintact with, something to bridle at, challenge and try to undermine. It's even something Cuddy mentions in House's job review.
It would quickly become impossible for House to deal with those two aspects of Cuddy that coexsist in the one person House would be involved with and impossible for Cuddy to lose the accomplished professional and authority figure she is to be with House or anyone.

He didn't say those were his fantasies.
He was about to open her pants and look at more of her rash.
She stopped him and said, "Use your imagination."
He replied, "Fine, shall I go with Lifeguard Cuddy or Mother Superior Cuddy?"
It's a joke, in reference to grooming practices.
daughterofcomaguy- 05-10-2008
Ack, I thought it was schoolgirl, not lifeguard Cuddy.
Oh, totally missed the "grooming" reference, I'm an idiot!!! I thought he fantasized about her in those guises.

filey, have I told you lately how briliant you are? I think this is spot on. This is facing his worst fear but with a proxy. I think once he accepts it in S5 we'll get back to a more clingy, anxious, and worried Wilson because once again, House will be all he has left and now he will have felt the real pain of a loss like that but to a lesser extent. I can't see Wilson having a relationship for a long time after this, I don't think he'd even try.
As for Cuddy, I don't find it insulting or a sign that he doesn't respect her. Do any of you watch NCIS? Well a female character, Kate, was killed off in S2 and her male partner, Tony, fantasized about her in a schoolgirl outfit very soon after her death. But he obviously cared about her, she was his partner for two years. Besides, I don't find it any worse than the robot!sex (which btw, I don't get how some HAM fans adore that scene but inisist that this Cuddy fantasy is clearly a sign that he doesn't care about her as anything more than a hot woman, I guess it's all about perception.) Anyway, I've said it before and I'll say it again, my only issue with this scene is that the outfit just fits her all wrong, she looked way hotter in the beginning of that scene when she was in her usual attire, YMMV.

I totally agree. It's just a sign that he thinks she's hot. And I think we've known that for a long time anyway. It's nothing new.

 You're so funny. I agree. I don't understand how anyone can think that House using a cold, hard, metal, computer-powered machine to "touch" Cam in his hallucination is hot. I love House, and I defend him in pretty much all of his actions. But that was downright creepy. Good thing it was just a hallucination and not something he actively did or imagined. I'm not a "Huddy shipper," but from what we've seen so far of this Cuddy hallucination or whatever, it's a human and fairly "normal" male fantasy.
Anyway, I've said it before and I'll say it again, my only issue with this scene is that the outfit just fits her all wrong, she looked way hotter in the beginning of that scene when she was in her usual attire, YMMV.
Agreed. I wish they'd have chosen a more appropriate "sexy outfit" for his fantasy.

Oh thankie kindly. :)
I think you are spot on that Wilson will not even think about involving himself in another true relationship (even w/House ) for at least a couple of years. After the end of his marriage w/ Julie, where the love had clearly run out at least a year and a half earlier, it took Wilson almost two years to try again with Amber. Losing someone when he was so hopeful this would shut Wilson down again but good. I fear that hotel coming back into his future or worse staying in Amber's apartment and wallowing. Hopefully either way House intercedes this time.
I do also worry about Wilson getting in some self-destructive situation early on maybe like his involvement with Grace something where he doesn't take the consequences into consideration because he isn't that interested in what happens to himself.
idonmatrix- 05-10-2008
Don't like the Huddy? You know what to do - hang out with your best friend TiVo Fast Forward :) It seems that the scene is designed to advance the Huddy instead of the story. I'm gonna skip those 20 seconds. Got to add though - anything, I mean anything is better than roboHAM.
After reading the last two pages, I am more convinced than ever Wilson is going to have a heart atack in W's H. Imagine that! And I would love to see a funeral scene. Maybe her parents will there and the jaw-dropping ending/cliffhanger will be revealed by them.
filex1410- 05-10-2008
I don't know about a funeral because I just don't think there would be enough time.
There is still the slightest possibility that something medical happens to Wilson but again I just don't know if they could get it all in unless after Amber's death Wilson goes to see House as he is either going to surgery or recovering from one,
then Wilson hits the deck.
Fade to black see you in 3 months.
