I think it's probably JM, JS, and OE. So it's Mod Squad Redux? Or actually OE was already on the Mod Squad wasn't he? So, then: M.D. Squad? ;-> "A roving team of disenfranchised diagnosticians occasionally hired to solve baffling medical/criminal mysteries when the case pays enough, is for the good of mankind and makes the investigators look good? (I know, sorry, I'm not here, really, but this is the only thread where anyone's posting continuously, so have to see what's going on...)

You know, now that we've seen pictures of Cuddy trying to comfort both House and Wilson in W's H, I can't help but think - usually after House has a run-in with gravity/the other laws of physics/other people, it's Wilson who helps him recuperate. If Amber passes away, then I don't think Wilson will really be in the best position to do that again. As much as Wilson thrives on the neediness of others, House's ill-timed snark (which is how he copes with negative situations) will not do anything but upset him. In the same way, I'm not one-hundred percent sure if House's personality is properly equipped with the mechanisms to correctly support his grieving friend. If anything, they'll both just sit in front of House's TV all day getting drunk. Not healthy. Ergo, I would love to see Cuddy step in, become take-charge!Cuddy once more, and say, "Look - this is what the situation is, you're both coming with me, I'm taking over." Wilson's undoubtedly going to need a place to stay and the way House looks he may not be able to come back to his place and properly function for a while - I'd love it if she moved both of them into her place, putting Wilson in her bedroom and House in the guest room (wouldn't want to give House a free pass to the panties) and herself on the couch, and they just cope together. It would also help alleviate the guilt she will undoubtedly feel no matter if she needs to feel anything or not (although the "Wilson outline" comment is bound to come back to bite her in the ass). If TPTB won't write it, I might have to.

If TPTB won't write it, I might have to. LOL I kinda already wrote something like that...both at Cuddy's, recuperating, complete with a "Goodnight John Boy" reference. I hope they get into the recovery instead of skipping it like last season's opener. As for the spin off...how about Cameron, Cuddy and 13..."House's Angels". But instead of weilding guns, they could be like the numbers guy on Numbers....they fight crime with stethescopes, scalpels and syringes (instead of a math degree). Can't you just see the advert, in the classic Charlie Angel's pose, medical instruments poised at the ready? Oh god, gag me with a spoon.

I have to say I find this whole scenario so clichê... I can't bring myself to believe that won't have some sort of twist in this "Amber is dying" thing. filex wrote: Anyone think Amber won't die but ultimately survive and Wilson will have to focus entirely on taking care of her early S5? Crossed my mind. In fact I think it would be a good reason for her to leave if instead of taking care of her - since she doesn't need/want it? - Wilson once again keeps his focus on House, ultimately proving to her that he can't change that much, he needs to be the caretaker, any other choice will make him miserable. I also can't see Wilson being that mad at House after a bus accident with, it seems, more serious consequences to House's health than they had imagined. How Wilson would blame him for Amber's death if her death is related to the accident? House is a genius but he is not God, Wilson knows that. OTOH, I can see House blaming himself for her death, even if this is a irrational guilt, and being afraid that, this time, he may lose Wilson. And don't get me wrong, I like Amber, I don't want her death, but a happy, happy couple on this show? Happy people don't make good drama, it's boring. The ketamine treatment lasted less than one episode. Wilson's happy for 4 epi now. It's too much in Houseland, and he is officially "the one who must suffer" carrie wrote: I hope they get into the recovery instead of skipping it like last season's opener. You mean House's recovery from the accident? Or Wilson's recovery from whatever happen to Amber? The last one it's possible - maybe it's the reason for the famous road trip - but I doubt the first one. Boffle wrote: So, then: M.D. Squad? ;-> "A roving team of disenfranchised diagnosticians occasionally hired to solve baffling medical/criminal mysteries when the case pays enough, is for the good of mankind and makes the investigators look good? Really, I think I'd give them a chance...

RE: the PI, new spinoff, etc. If this were to occur, I would assume that while working through his grief/whatever, Wilson decides it is time to find LLB. Hence the PI, and then perhaps the road trip. Although, at this point I wish Assiello would throw us a bone about HH and W<3.

how long does it take Cameron to come running to comfort Wilson in his PDGF mode with the experience of her PDH. Ugh, spare me. I don't think I can take her suddenly acting like she's ever given a second thought to his feelings. Ergo, I would love to see Cuddy step in, become take-charge!Cuddy once more, and say, "Look - this is what the situation is, you're both coming with me, I'm taking over." I like this idea. I doubt it will happen but with House physically recuporating and Wilson emotionally recuporating, they probably won't be much good to each other on their own. They need someone stable helping them. If Amber dies, I hope Wilson doesn't stay in her apartment, that would just be odd to me. It would be different if they had been together for years or they were married or something, but they've been together months at the most. I think he loves her but still. I also don't want him back in a hotel, that certainly can't help with his lonliness and grieving process.

Taiga...thanks for answering my question! :)

I think Amber's on the bus. Watched the promo (thanks to MaryKir) frame by frame and just before the glass shatters towards the beginning (on the bus)...there's a woman's arm in front of House. Beige sleeve and I can see just a teensie bit of blond hair in the far left. It may not be her, but I'm betting it is. Why on earth would they both be on the same bus together?

With the Amber Spoiler, I am almost sure that one of those bears in Wilson's office goes by the name Ollie.

I have to say I find this whole scenario so clichê... I can't bring myself to believe that won't have some sort of twist in this "Amber is dying" thing. ITA. There may be some concept that I can't fathom in killing Amber but it mostly just seems cruel. It's one thing to put Wilson in a realtionship that seems be what he wants and has the prospect of succeeding and seeing if it does. If it didn't due to a conflict over him doing what is expected rather than what he wants or because he can't curtail his tendency to be a caretaker by either continuing to try to take care of Amber or of becoming preoccupied in taking care of House than that would be reasonable and still I think interesting drama. But I can't glean what we or Wilson would learn from Amber being in an accident with House and then dying from an illness that House can't diagnose. Because Wilson blaming House for either for more than 2 minutes wouldn't make sense. I suppose we could still get caretaker House who now has to look after Wilson and does so out of both concern and guilt. Another possibility could be losing Amber this way increases Wilson anxiety about losing House. I think Amber's on the bus. Maybe Amber was at the strip club that House went to after Wilson left him for the night. Amber works there! They see each other, House heads for the bus, Amber gets on at a later stop to confront House...than accident. Wilson's line from FFL: She’s much too cautious for me. Point taken, I’ll start dating her so I can break up with her and start dating a stripper. See this is what comes from hitting you head on a desk repeatedly.

I think the release of the Amber photo is a deliberate misdirection. Obviously she's been hurt in an accident, but I don't know if she's part of the big secret of the finale. If she were, why would they release it now? Or rather, I hope this is the case. I do enjoy her character, and I'll be really sad if they kill her off (or any of the characters on this show, really).

travin1- 05-07-2008

I'm not at all attached to Amber's character. I don't give a rats ass if she dies (no, I'm not cold hearted...this is reel tv, not RL)...yes Wilson apparently is in love, but it's been so fast, the whole thing just feels false to me, thrown together after the strike. Darn strike, they would have been better able to draw out the story line if they'd had enough time, making it more believable.

I couldn't fathom them letting outthat info, it's why I thought they didn't list her as a guest star. They could be trying to ratchet up interest in the finale and feel this is the best way. I also think we might not now the final outcome until the fall so perhaps they feel it isn't giving too much away. I'm not at all attached to Amber's character. More than fine, I've been waiting for the other shoe to drop. I just thought it would be better if Wilson or Amber came to realize that the realtionship is not working out or one becomes disappointed in the other and then ends it due to that and not because the hand of God comes down and snatches her away. :P
