Some people on other sites have been complaining that Wilson is just back to manipulating House but I don't see it that way.
Neither do I. Wilson's old manipulation tricks weren't working, so he's taking a page out of House's own play book, figuring that might be a better tack to take with House. It apparently doesn't work, but big ups for trying something new to Wilson.
Has he tried making out with House? I think that would cheer them both up! ;-)
PS how do I put spoiler bars?
The info on how to spoiler tag is in the Spoiler Policy Section of the Rules, Guidelines and Announcements area.

Just them...??

Just watched the interviews with Olivia Wilde, Kal Penn, and Anne Dudeck about their "new" characters. Can you say Cameron, Chase, and female Foreman?
The one thing I really don't want the new ducks to be is a recreation of the old ducks. Just make the old ones attendings or something under House if you're going to do that. I hope thy'll get their own unique personalities if they last any lenghth of time.

Hi, melly!
Yeah, Amber sounds possibly like a more aggressive, female version of Foreman, 13 sounds distinctly like Cameron version 2, though maybe more self-possessed, the lack of a name is completely stupid IMO. Kal Penn's character actually sounds unique, with the flipping his number prank & sneaking back in.
The JMo interview fills me with fear for what ever reason, & I can't for the life of me see how she's qualified to be a senior attending in the ER (that's utter nonsense as far as I can tell). The RSL interview I found really funny, how Wilson's shoving it in House's face that he's the one behind the guitar-napping, as well as the idea that the blonde Cameron is some sort of hallicunated amalgam of Chase & Cameron.
What happened to the Arizona stuff though & why can't I find a clip with OE??? Anyone seen this?
ETA- shutterbug, thank you for the OE & PJ clips! (I'm off to watch this now, glad you remembered about PJ too, I forgot to even look for him!)

The more I discover about Thirteen, the harder it is for me to like her.
I am, however, really digging Kal Penn's character. He seems really refreshing and interesting. I love his upside down number tactic. :)

Heh. I'm pretty sure I called this as soon as it was announced that Cameron had blonde hair. But I'm way too lazy to go back and dig through my posts at the other place.
My prediction on spoilers is really bad....the only two things I've guessed right are that Chase/Cam would have hair confusion and that the episode "Merry Little Christmas" (which at one point was titled "Christians", I thought) would feature dwarves. Other than that, I suck. :-)

Wilson really does have a twisted sense of humor. I liked the Kal Penn interview & Peter Jacobsen one as well, they sound like they have fresh characters - the two women, majorly boring IMO.
Nice to have the details about the hallucinating thing clarified, but yes - what did happen to arizona & why does Cuddy or Wilson (or both) feel the need to hide that the team are around. Though House clearly finds out about Chase quickly if he's watching Chase in surgery. I don't find that particularly odd compared to Cameron, we've even seen House assist Chase in surgery in the past (during the Foreman in charge arc, I forget the specific ep). Cameron though, completely nuts in the ER. Someone explain this to me, or is it just a convenient spot to park her?

I vote convenient spot to park her. It doesn't make any sense at all to me.

I hear you. Ugh.
I vote convenient spot to park her. It doesn't make any sense at all to me.
I second that vote. Hasn't she read moniters wrong before? Jeez, do they want her to kill someone? I can really see her losing it down there, I don't think she's mad to handle crisis situations, JMO.
Since I can't say it enough, I love RSL.

That goes without saying

Both of the new girls are putting fear in my heart. Is it that difficult to write a likeable female? Is it!?
That said, I'm really digging Kal Penn, much to my surprise. Is he staying? Because I think I could get into his character.
Jacobson, I'm still kind of on the fence about but I'm leaning towards liking him.
Both JS and OE's interviews were good. They seem like good guys. I love JS's attitude about choosing to help House or not help him. Chase, you have the power, use it. 8)
I really like JM too (I loved her hair in the interview) but her line about Cameron being free freaks me out. Was last season really Cameron holding back? Because if that's the case, I think I should run away.
LE, eh, must she constantly refer to the innuendo? I don't mind watching it but she is just obssessed with it.

On other shows, no. On this show, yes.

To be fair, LightMyCandle, even if she likes discussing it, most of the time the topic is initiated by a journalist or, in this case, the FOX PR machine. It actually makes a lot of sense to bring it up from a promotional standpoint.
But even JM managed to avoid it
No, she didn't. These are interviews crafted by FOX for the purpose of promoting season 4. An independent journalist isn't asking the questions. The actors know what questions they'll be asked. It makes no sense to mention innuendo between Cameron and House because that's not how the story was unfolding in season three, and it's probably not going to unfold that way in season 4.
I just realized that the way I phrased things probably sounds contradictory, when it's not in reality. Oh well. I'm not sure how to fix that.
Edited by ENB to fix the page shift
LightMyCandle- 09-14-2007
True but even JM managed to avoid it and it constantly gets brought up to her too.(which I guess as a HAM hater could be a good thing) But you're right, I'm sure she's not the one always bringing it up and I shouldn't blame her, I just really get sick of hearing the same thing over and over from the girls when it comes to their "romance" with House.
Ranee- 09-14-2007
IMO the interviewers have had enough teasers, never mind the end of the season with Cameron's I'm over him/I'm not waiting for Tuesday, that they aren't likely to go that route. Plus here I'm assuming its a fox interviewer deliberately steering the questions to what they want to highlight.
Shame they can't do a better job with all the womencharacters in how they are portrayed though. Admitedly Cameron's not being cast as just a love interest, but actually some professional development, but it makes no sense for who she is. What happened to her ambitions to go work for all those people repeatedly referenced when she walks out - I'm not knocking ER work, but the only context in which it makes some sense is that the subtext is she's determined to stay near Chase and/or House plus maybe she interviewed for those positions & didn't get them - come on, would anyone who knows House seriously think that a letter of reference signed by House was actually written by him?? At least Foreman didn't even try & pretend, just went to Marty for a letter. And Marty knows enough about House that he can explain the lack of letter.
