Yes, I kinda freaked out when I saw those. TV Guide level spoilers (or the occasional donkeykong-esque snippet of goodness) make me happy. Complete play-by-play is far less fun.
namaste, yes a spoiler-free thread would be nice. I did read through the linked spoiler and wow is it detailed! I loved what I read and now I am even more excited and happy about seeing the episode. This will be a great one, IMO.
But I have to say that the level of detail actually made me a bit queasy for some reason. I would like to know only a sketchy outline of the episode (the TV Guide version) not every scene laid out almost line by line as in this spoiler.

The site that shall not be named has some incredibly detailed spoilers that sound perfectly legitimate.
they're completely legitimate, but i'm put out with the fact that he/she made the blanket claim that the house "seeing" the fellows is just him bouncing ideas off of random people. that bugged me, so i think i'm making good on my lie yesterday and avoiding that place all together. if you have a screener that has the first two episodes and you haven't watched the second episode then how can you dispute a spoiler that was *always* completely separate from the spoiler that you're sharing? that irritates. i'm perfectly willing to accept that the "it's all in your head" stuff isn't exactly as i've interpreted it, but i don't think i have patience for half information used to debunk something. as it is, the "using the janitor as a sounding board" thing was one spoiler. house "seeing" the fellows was another one. i know that everyone doesn't have all the time in the world, but maybe watch both before making a definitive statement? lord knows, there are already so many bizarro spoilers out there that it's hard to work your way through to find the legitimate ones.

maybe a speculation without spoilers thread is in order for those who want to speculate only based on what's in the press? i love detailed spoilers and all that crap and i don't mind knowing them at all, but i also really enjoy trying to piece together the small details, so i think a thread like that might be a good idea if it's allowed. obviously in cases where i know too much or everything, i'd stay away, but for the times when i just want analyze a promo or something, those are the places i like to hang out.
eta: um, okay...so that thread already exists and i'm just too self involved to have noticed it before. {g}

I was right, I was right, its Wilson!
Okay, I'll shut up now, but that's probably why we're all so freaked about the level of detail over there, it takes some of the mystery & excitement out of it when you actually get to see the episode. Plus when I know there's something I don't like (H-W kiss, anyone? ;D), it puts me off watching the episode to start with.
saara_zaara- 09-12-2007
Particularly since the "seeing the ducklings" spoiler came directly from an interview quote by HL I don't doubt that's going to happen at some point. The question is when? (BTW, Cameron as Ophelia, anyone? to go with the Hamletian aspect, per HL? :P )
bailey- 09-12-2007
It's my own fault. I clicked on the damn thread, not expecting to see that complete, full rundown. I'm annoyed. Mainly at myself, but I'm still annoyed. I mean, criminy, it's only 2 weeks away---I've made it all summer without knowing a goddamn thing and now....pfft.
Where's Spidysense these days? I know she was kind of bowing out of House fandom but when I think spoilers I think Spidy.
But yeah...I suspect the hallucinations are coming later. And I doubt that everyone on the House production crew would just make that up randomly if it weren't going to happen.
I wonder when House turned plugged in, electric. It's almost sacreligous. Like when Dylan went electric.

I know, bailey, its a weird sense of letdown. I'm kicking myself for going over there to start with & I've also seen refs this morning on other sites that there are even large clips from the screener up on youtube.
Out of curiosity, has anyone ever seen quite such a detailed spoiler description of an episode in the past? I'd assumed initially this was a truly extraordinary exception for one episode, but it appears that poster will also put up the description for the second ep as well (& maybe others in the future if they get the tapes??) - I'm just going to have to knuckle under & not go look. I like a little knowing, but I like some surprise too.
I haven't seen spidysense in a long time, so not sure what's up, but donkeykong is alive & well & pops in here periodically.

I skimmed over the spoilers quickly. But then I saw the word 'Wilson' and had to stop.
And now I'm just plain excited.
You lot can complain all you want, but I live in England and I'm used to reading even more detailed summaries of episodes before I watch them. Man, I hardly remember those days when everything was a surprise... I wonder what they were like?
Also - why would Wilson have Tivo in a hotel room?

I think I'm further annoyed because the Mods at the unnamed forum have so completely fucked up the definition of what is and is not a spoiler and where that information should go. I may be mistaken, but it seems like play-by-play information like that would generally go in the Magic 8-Ball thread and then mere discussion of those revelations would go in the discussion thread. But then again, people ended up being very confused. I have to remove that bookmark or something.

Ditto & its odd, they've even got spoilers in the media thread, everywhere except the Eight Ball location.
407, he needs a TiVo for when House comes over to watch his favorite shows with him! More relevantly, for when he's at work late & needs to record his favorite shows? -but what I really want to know is what he TiVos compared to House's list that we've seen before.

There were some towards the end of last season - House Training and Family, in particular, I seem to remember.
amysusanne- 09-12-2007
yeah, the lengthy full synopsis has happened since the end of season one. honestly, it's one of the reasons that the sides were removed from showfax a second time. people just couldn't be bothered to not post pages and pages of information. livejournal was *bad*. they posted pages of dialogue over there for awhile. nobody seemed to care that that's why they cracked down in season one. for whatever reason, the "house" producers didn't like that we had the information. which is *fine*. it's not as if we have much of a right to get mad, although now that i think of it it's sort of like the arbitrary modding of message boards: they wanted us to follow rules that no other show was having to follow. that sounds familiar. {g} but, yeah...we lost our spoilers, we all learned to deal, we got new sources, they made the foolish mistake of putting the sides back out through showfax and after twelve million people signed up for accounts and posted them everywhere they took them down again.
i'm with you guys, too: i like the little snippets and hints because it's not so overwhelming. i like being spoiled and i'm happy to be spoiled privately on some things, but it's a bit jarring to see that much info in your face when you load a web page. it's shocking. and it sort of spoils me in the sense that when someone writes it out with that much detail they insert their own opinions and viewpoints in it and when i view the episode i'm sort of predisposed to see things that way even if that isn't even close to the intentions of the show. i like the basic outline.

I'm guessing a buttload of PBS. Great Performances, anyone? ;-)
I'm bummed after reading those spoilers. TMI. I did not need to read the case's solution especially since it had such a good twist. Damn it! Why did I read it?!
I'm very happy about the Prank War, Part Deux: Electric Boogaloo however. A season opener full of H/W rocks.
iamdaffodils- 09-12-2007
I didn't know the lengthy stuff had been going on since S1. But I only started following on-line the beginning of S3. I do remember last season having complete chunks of scripts posted - Airborne and Fetal Position are two I remember especially because when the episodes aired months later, a lot of the dialogue was exactly the same.
Ditto & its odd, they've even got spoilers in the media thread, everywhere except the Eight Ball location.
Yep. I still can't believe that post hasn't been edited by ones of the mods yet with the accompanying warning about putting it in the right thread. I guess because Stephen Fry's name wasn't mentioned, a 20 decibel siren didn't go off.
amy - totally agree with you about the person disputing that thing about House "seeing" the ducklings when they're not really there. They really should wait and watch the second episode before they make claims. I agree maybe they didn't have time to watch both, but if it was me I would have waited until I watched both before I disputed. Of course, if I had both episodes in my hands, pretty much everything in my life would have come to a halt until I watched them both {g}
