The very last clip they use in the House segment has House playing a loud riff on his guitar, then Cuddy walks over and unplugs the guitar. Am I having a deja vu moment or didn't someone on this very board say a while back why the heck doesn't Cuddy just unplug his guitar? (If it wasn't just another of my hallucinations) smart people are here! 8)

amysusanne- 09-10-2007

off the topic of cuddy and the guitar: we've had david shore say they're shaving the list of newbies down to "a couple". jesse said two. now, in EW, katie has said that they're not only getting down to two, but it'll be by episode 8 or 9. so, slowly the pieces are coming together.

ITA, amysuzanne & there are even more details today (thank you, marykir!). In one scene, House snuffs Bunsen burners, Survivor torch-style. In another scene, he offers red roses to a chosen few, Bachelor style. I find this inordinately funny - is House drawing on his own viewing of reality shows? The Bachelor?? The Hamletian thing with CCF could turn out to be very funny too - I'd love to see House admit that one to Wilson - but Foreman crawls back to Cuddy!? That could be an interesting twist - maybe he comes to ask her for the position she created for him? And hopefully she gives him what for.

It's going to take six or seven episodes to get Chase back? :curse: Oh, yeah, and those other two also. I suppose I should be happy that they're even addressing it. Honestly, this sounds like the stupidest idea in the history of episodic television. House was an intelligent and original show. I can't imagine that ripping off ideas from cheesey reality TV shows is going to do anything to boost their reputation. Roses? Snuffing out "torches"? Maybe there's hope that House will bring in Chase, Foreman, and Cameron to critique the new people like Simon, Randy, and Paula... at least then we'd get to see them.

I reacted the same way when I read this, it doesn't help that I absolutely hate those reality shows. I'm remaining positive for now, it better pay off though. This has the potential to be either very good or unbelievably bad.

If Chase is barely a blip on the radar for 7 weeks it's going to be very bad. Top that off with how this sounds like a big gimmick worthy of a show on the chopping block. I don't get why a top rated show would screw up what was working for the sake of ripping off shows like the Bachelor. :thumb down:

I'm obviously in the minority on the game show thing - finally we get to see House's hours of watching trash TV have a purpose! RE CCF, we do get to see them before ep 6 - JS & OE are in ep 1 for starters - I just got the impression that it was ep 6 or so before House admits he wants them back on his team. And I really, really, really want to see House tell Wilson he's hallucinating Chase.

extra_cat- 09-10-2007

I understand that we'll see them, but it sounds like we're barely going to see them which will suck.

LightMyCandle- 09-10-2007

Right now the way House is treating the newbies sounds fine, he doesn't really care, he doesn't really want them but if they actually add two new regulars then House is going to have to care and want them there and I don't want that. I don't want to waste time watching House develop some sort of "bond" with, not just one, but two new people. House admitting to Wilson that he's seeing CCF could be hilarious though. I know a lot of people love the ducklings but I'm kind of glad and hoping that we don't see them that much at the beginning of the season, I never really cared about them and I got duckling overload week after week. If I get to see the adults play and have their own fun for a little while, I'll be a happy fangirl. Though, I would like to see Chase more (of course I've been feeling that way even when they had consistant screentime) I am certainly looking forward to a Cameron and Foreman break, esp. Cameron. I do think that Foreman crawling back to Cuddy will give me some kind of twisted satisfaction.

saara_zaara- 09-10-2007

Umm, I'd like the chance to see if I have any intention of actually missing Cameron & Foreman! I have the feeling I won't. House bonding (or not) with newbies will be interesting for me since I want to see how it compares to how he interacts with CCF. (I know I'll miss Chase, been there, done that ;D).

LightMyCandle- 09-10-2007

There is a slight possibility I'll miss Foreman, for no better reason than I'm a Wilson/Foreman shipper on the side. They're my mistress ship. Shh, don't tell House/Wilson. :shifty:

The game show thing is completely in character for House. Most of reality is a big game for him and given his history of watching trashy tv on and off the job... sooo... yeah... I'm stoked anyway. But then, I'm easy when it comes to House.

LightMyCandle- 09-10-2007

I just had a horrible thought. Okay, stay with me on this, you know how Wilson is going to "hit House where it hurts?" You know how House thinks he's seeing the ducklings around and tells Wilson? Could the fact that Wilson thinks House is losing it be a reason to withhold the vicodin again? Please, somebody tell me I'm overreacting, I can't deal with another start of the season like the one last year. :sweatdrop:

Que Sera Sera? House complains that the reason he has all the pills is because of Wilson's "moods"). I wouldn't be surprised... but then again, Wilson could just kick him in the balls or something.

Hibernia- 09-10-2007

but then again, Wilson could just kick him in the balls or something. Somehow, I don't see Wilson doing that... I don't even want to consider, though, that he'll cut him off from Vicodin again. Why is it so difficult to understand that someone who's in constant pain needs, well, painkillers?
