Peter Jacobsen's older than his 30s I thought, so did they amalgamate the characters & make him the single Dad & the plastics surgeon as well? yeah, it sounds like they took their ideas and, maybe, tweaked them to the actors? i mean, they did it with the intial characters, so if they're genuinely looking to add regulars and not just have an extended arc then i can see them working the characters around the people that they liked. jacobson: name? 40s and plastic surgeon confirmed. maybe a single dad. penn: lawrence, 30s (i'm guessing), amused by house's hiring methods, questioning the use of his specialty. wilde: 13, 20s, mysterious. dudek: amber, 30s. maybe the go getter. they have her all stern and serious in the promo shot. then there's the black mormon, the cute kid that everyone's drooling over and the twins. i almost wonder if the twins are just included in the promo pictures because it's a funny sight gag and they'll be eliminated quickly after that joke is over. although, i'm basing some of that on the actors' ages. i mean, jacobson's probably not going to pass for his thirties (although he might) and they could easily have dudek and wilde playing their opposite ages because either could pull it off physically. who knows. i'd guess that they just flipped things around a bit, though. It's ok, I watch a ridiculous amount of television and don't know any of the people mentioned in the last few pages with the exception of Michael Michele. I guess I don't watch the right shows. i imagine that a couple of these people are people you've seen but just don't know their names. i didn't know peter jacobson's name until a year or so ago when i finally looked him up after seeing him on pretty much every show i watch. i didn't know anne dudek's name until she was cast, but she's been on a dozen or so things i've watched in the past year. they went with television faces for these. except penn, who i guess also has the hip movie cred going for him right now.

Hee. Anne Dudek only popped for me because I saw her in Bones while I was home sick. (Apparently she's also been in Mad Men and Big Love recently, but I don't watch those.) But what I really noticed is that while Olivia Wilde still looks like Olivia Wilde...Anne Dudek looks very different. Her hair is much shorter and straightened, and she's hardly wearing any makeup at all.

poor stupid tessa. i sort of but not quite recognized her there, but it had been so long that i think i'd forgotten that she was tessa. i did notice that, for some reason, she seemed to look a lot different than she did on "how i met your mother". that show's one of the reasons i actually like her, though.

The cute kid is Mason (#10) - the actor is Jonathan Sadowski & he's done a bunch of movie & TV stuff. I realized I'd seen him on Entourage & he's in the last Die Hard movie. Peter Jacobson's character's name is Taub. The actor playing the black mormon is Edi Gathegi (he was on Lincoln Heights) & there was a fox press release saying he's one of the featured five over the arc, so he's around for more than one ep.

thanks, i was just going with general info, not full details, but i'd totally forgotten that jacobson's name was taub. mason was the guy who wouldn't let drama into brett ratner's house, right? "entourage" didn't get a lot of repeat viewings this season so if you're not a member of the regular cast i tend to forget what you look like. i have no idea if i'll like the guy or character or whatever, but i vote that he gets at least a couple of episodes simply for having had to be that close to brett ratner...

That's the guy, Brett's asst! ETA - it might be nice to have a little table or somthing running of what we know about the new cast as details are available, so we can keep track.

I, too, hope that the old Cuddy is back. I was watching a few Season 1 episodes and found myself pining for the old days. It's so fun to watch her and House butt heads when she refuses to back down. :)

Thank god for Cuddy's pulling the plug and "shut up". I was beginning to think TPTB gave her a lobotomy and she'll just stand there stupidly and clap while House is trashing the hospital.

Cuddy rocks in that latest promo with the "House, shut up" - the music choice ("one is the loneliest number") is pretty funny, but what's also interesting is the "new team" comment, but what we see are presumably all the ER docs for the first ep, not the survivor candidates?

Is the woman doctor who got a closeup in the latest promo the same person as the redhead doctor sitting in front of Olivia Wilde in the "wear a cup" scene? I was too tired last night to compare photos and figure it out. Because, if so, that's two good looks we've got of her in the promos (not that that means anything - maybe the promo editor likes her :)) and I don't know that we've heard her name or anything about her.

Just wanted to cheer Cuddy a little more for the shut up remark. That alone is making me like her better than last season. I just hope she keeps it up.
