Per the TV Guide article, it appears that the soap star and the really, really nice patient are, indeed, two different people.
Although it's unlikely, I would love it if the nice patient were played by Stephen Fry. It is, after all, the kind of character on the show that he called out as having wanted to play. Would be a shame if it went to someone else instead. I know it's unlikely that this would have gotten shot without anyone knowing of his guest role, but I can dare to dream....

hey bailey - I'm with ya on this one. I asked the same thing a few pages back because everytime I hear about the "really, really nice patient", I think back to that interview Stephen did that was on the Fox site, that if he ever did an episode he couldn't decide whether his character should be really, really nice or the opposite. And the really, really nice thing also makes me think of that character he played in the Mr. Burmie skit in the vet's office talking about the smack fairy and the cheese and tommy-toe toasties. So I dare to dream too.

I think we would have heard about it by now if he was. Poor Stephen actually has 10 screws in his arm at the moment, so I don't know how capable he would be of doing something this rigorous. But I know, it's exactly his kind of role!

Works just fine if he's a patient that has a broken arm. Which certainly wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.
We say that we would have known about it. But would we really? It is possible to keep certain things secret.

If it's true, then that would possibly be the best-kept secret in TV right now. And it would be so amazing! :D

So, no speculation about the expensive cliff-hanger at the season finale and how this will affect every character's life?
Personally, I'm still delighted with the long standing, underlying thing between House and Wilson and the ménage à trois implication... You must love HL :P

Yeah, see they say stuff like that and it makes me nervous...

...that eased the pain and sent me to squeeing shipper land :P . I love that he said that. I really, really can't wait to see how this triangle (I refuse to use quotations) plays out.
I also think it's possible that they could be exaggerating on the "affecting everyone's life" thing. They usually have to make things sound bigger than it is. Of course if there is a cast shake up, it's entirely possible. But then, this wasn't originally supposed to be the finale. Did they change it enough to make it work as a finale, I wonder?

Perhaps they'll use it to finally convince us of TKT's permanency and put into question C&C's places. Or not.
But affecting everyone? I can see how it will affect everyone but Cuddy. They may use it to advance us towards Huddy-lovin' we were originally promised for S4 (but may see in S5). And, yes, I realize I'm one of the few here who appreciate Huddy-lovin'.

It makes me a little nervous too, LMC
What could possibly affect everybody's life? House's quitting? Will he fail to diagnose the POTW because of his amnesia? That's what will lead to the road trip?
Chipmunk, I don't follow you... Why only Cuddy shouldn't be affected?

I'm not saying that she shouldn't be affected by the amnesia...I guess that for me, it's not immediately obvious what form the effect will take. And in my staunchly Huddy mind, I can only see her "realizing her love for House" or something. But maybe y'all can think of something else.

Nope, you not alone on an island, Chipmunk. I'm there with you.

Oh come on now. You're trying to make me ill, aren't you?

Mmm... I can get behind that theory Lully. Do we know if the road trip is planned for early season 5 ? Like real early, as in ep. 1 :)

I'm not trying to, and I'm not sorry. :) Agree to disagree. I understand my viewpoint is in the minority here.

No, I don't think we know that for sure. But they released the spoiler about the road trip so early that I guess it could be a consequence of something that happens in the season finale.
