And to help kick off the discussion - I HAVE SPOILERS (full article & link is on the spoilers thread), but from tvguide's fall preview What's next: House opens Season 4 short of staff and growing more unpopular by the hour. His support team has dwindled to Drs. Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) and Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), who are stretched to the max, especially after a building collapse brings an onslaught of injured victims in the first episode. House hires a new team, specifically to find three new docs, and makes 40 of them jump through hoops. Meanwhile, Cameron has been reassigned to the ER and Chase now works in surgery. Foreman's the last to return. A few episodes in, he gets canned from his fancy job at Mercy Hospital and comes crawling back. By midseason, House will have two or three new staff members, which means a whole new set of buttons to push and feelings to hurt. Can I just say, I'm inordinately pleased about the Foreman canning (& WTF is Cameron doing in the ER, I thought she was an immunologist?). I wonder if Foreman gets canned for being too House-like at his new job. And I thought Cameron and Chase were all the way across the country. Unless the spoilers mean that they're in the ER and Surgery in Arizona.

And I thought Cameron and Chase were all the way across the country. Unless the spoilers mean that they're in the ER and Surgery in Arizona. Ditto. But the article also says Foreman is the last to return - so are Chase & Cameron also returning in those roles or something else? ETA - so if PPTH's stretched thin after the building collapse & needs surgeons/intensivists, maybe that's part of the push for Cuddy to hire Chase back initially??

I don't see Cameron as a great ER doctor, but oh well. I'm also insanely pleased that Foreman gets canned.

I wonder if Foreman gets canned for being too House-like at his new job. I bet my front teeth on it being the case. Nothing on House in Wilson's hotel room? :(

I wonder if Foreman gets canned for being too House-like at his new job. Or House-like without the success rate?

Foreman was always the most like House, temperament-wise. He just didn't have House's skill, knowledge, intuition or any of the other positive traits that would make it worth putting up with such an ass. I hope we get the firing scene, as well as the crawling back!

So, what looked like a backfiring car in the previews is actually a building collapsing? That's a pretty cool way to show it without killing their budget. Also, I love it that Foreman gets fired 8)

LightMyCandle- 08-31-2007

Foreman getting fired. That's so great. I want to see him come crawling back, I want him to beg. :D He really needs to be knocked down a few pegs.

Foreman getting fired. That's so great. Its is, isn't it?! <- Maybe I should look into changing my avatar

I fear another big Foreman centric storyline coming up with him getting fired and crawling back to PPTH. True, but firing - that I could live through. And given all the new kids game, I'm not so sure that they would give it a huge amount of screen time - else how are they going to cram all this stuff in?

I'm kinda grrr about the spoilers. STill hate the thought of NEW regulars. HATE! And why, seriously, why/how is Chase in surgery? He'd be better suited to ER than Cameron, too. I just can't see her working in that intense/hectic scenario. Chase would be perfect. Did I mention I hate the new regulars already? And...I would have loved to see Chase working hard during the building collapse. ::Kicks TIIC::

saara_zaara- 08-31-2007

Just my 2 cents, but I do think Chase is better off in surgery than ER - there are a lot more critically ill folks pre- & post- surgery who he's in a better position to help. The thing I find weird is the Cameron in the ER, it seems to have very little logic to her training, unless it simply turns out to be an easy place to plonk her. :still doing happy dance about Foreman being fired:

sasmom- 08-31-2007

Actually there've been a number of articles suggesting that better outcomes in surgery result from emplying intensiviists on the surgical team. As far as Cameron, I googled and found a lot of docs who practice immuno and emergency medicine. I can sorta see that a lot of folks come into the ER with allergic and environmental/toxicological symptoms which spur an immunogical response. She could be helpful in diagnosing such things that might escape another practicioner.

I also am hating any new regulars and confused about Cameron being in the ER. And, yeah, it sounds like we're going to have to suffer through another painful Foreman arc.
