I was sort of wondering if Cuddy was diagnosing constipation
It is a well known side effect of vicodin usage.
Last season we had the "can't pee" storyline, so maybe this will be the "can't poop" storyline. I know they're both real side effects of Vicodin usage, but the catheter last season, and now laxatives (and who knows what else), talk about making the frisky go away. :)

I'll have to agree with those posters above that it's quite possible this spoiler will not be as bad as it sounds.
You're probably right. I really can't see her doing this for kicks.
I was looking forward to Foreman's return, but now it looks as if he's being set up as this season's Vogler/Tritter. We don't need another one of those.
Fine by me, seeing as how Foreman has neither the power to take away House's job or send him to prison.

Hmmm, it's the sort of thing I imagine House would treat himself for, without needing someone to prompt him. I mean, I would. It's hardly something that he can just ignore.

Hey, I didn't say it made any *sense*.

Nothing on this show makes any sense - especially when it comes to Cuddy and medicine.

You all are cracking me up with Cuddy secretly worried about House being constipated... Now I'm imagining her pulling various of the newbies aside for whispered conferences about how often House goes to the can, how long he stays there, if any of the men are ever in there when he is and if they ever...notice...anything...and adding a report on House's toilet and dietary habits to the checklist she gives Foreman to use when he reports back to her on House....
Then there's the whole exploration of the psychological motives behind why he would have to be tricked into taking laxatives...he's now deeply anal retentive and refuses to voluntarily let go of his poo... in spite of being a doctor, he's all bloated and crampy but doesn't know why and the situation is just too embarassing to be openly discussed between to medical professionals like Cuddy and House...unbeknowst to Cuddy, he's made a bet with Wilson to see who can go the longest without having a dump...the possibilities are endless!

To be honest I think he probably is constipated because he has to take Vicodin and gets prescriptions for laxatives from Wilson. All the more reason nobody should try to get more and/or different laxatives into his system (apart from the whole causing-more-pain-argument which I already exhausted earlier).

I guess I'm the opposite: I could totally see House ignoring something like constipation (I've ignored it ) until it became a serious issue. Especially if he was distracted by a patient or a rivalry.
However, I doubt whoever's behind the laxatives is thinking strictly of House's health. Although as others have said, they'd probably actually be good for him, with the side-effects of Vicodin and all.

I don't guess this could possibly be a serious storyline to further show the effects of long-term Vicodin addiction, like the "can't pee" thing last season, and not just Cuddy pranking him. If it is that serious though, laxatives probably wouldn't work, and then a more "aggressive" approach would be needed, and I've put way too much thought into what's probably going to turn out to be nothing.
Oh and I just want to say I agree that I think House would ignore the situation, until it got to the point where he couldn't.

tvguide seems to be confirming the laxative thing - I don't think this is new info, just confirmation of old, so I'm not posting in the spoilers thread, but fyi, the text is
Humbled and happy just to have a job — sort of — Foreman is back this week. You can imagine what House's reaction will be when Cuddy tells him that his once and future flunkie will be her “eyes and ears” on the diagnostics team. And that won't be the only humiliation she has planned for the ornery doc. (Watch your pills, Greg!) Meanwhile, staffers around the hospital — candidates included — are betting on whom House will hire.

I think that Foreman is being set up as the cop who gets called in to break up a violent domestic disturbance between a long-married couple. The usual outcome is that the battling duo sets aside their squabble, presents a united front against the outsider, and the cop ends up getting shot for his troubles.
Most police officers know to stay away from domestic disturbance calls, but Foreman is not as street smart as he would like us to believe!

Thanks SZ! :) Curiously enough, we keep getting info about Cuddy messing with House, but not the other way around, albeit House's threat. I'm dying to know what's he done.

I just noticed something: should I be offended that episode 407 is called 'Ugly'?

I think I'm going to be very interested in what the Huddy shippers have to say after tonight. I don't mean that in a snotty way but this seems like it will be an episode that's heavily about their relationship and I'm just interested.

I'm with you LMC. Cuddy falsified hospital records, perjured herself, and now she's not taking any formal administrative action regarding a patient's death. It just seems like there's got to be another shoe, they're just waiting to drop. I'm interested but I just don't get where they're going with Cuddy.
I am so looking forward to tonight's episode because there will be 2 :!: :!: :!: House/Wilson scenes.
