Huzzah, blacktop! A well needed reality slap. We sometimes let the promo monkeys play us like violins. ;-)

LOL blacktop, you're right in theory, but the reality is, spoiler-over-speculating is fun ;)
sasmom- 10-29-2007
Word, blacktop.
For all we know Cuddy 1) has a good reason for this 2) doesn't carry through with it or 3) its really Foreman's idea j/k
Now, please someone convince me that the lack of Chase in the promos is just another promo monkey trick & we're going to get lots & lots of Chase all of a sudden.
saara, saara, saara--I can't guarantee you more Chase, but lack of a character in the promos is never suggestive of anything other he (or she) is lacking in the promos. That is all.

Let me add a Word to Blacktop as well. Cuddy has never been cruel to House. Whatever her reason, I'm sure it's justified cause you know we're talking about House here.
Well...she actually has been cruel to House. Saline injection in Skin Deep qualifies. and then telling him and leaving him alone to deal with that information. Placebo effect is real, and whether or not his pain is psychologically or physically originating, the placebo may have helped him temporarily (along with being distracted--which also helps when you're simply in pain.) I thought that was the cruelest thing she's ever done to him, including playing along with Wilson.

I thought the bet with the handicap parking spot was pretty cruel and the taunting "you looooose" at the end was just awful. That episode illustrated to me that despite House's snarkiness & veneer of strength, he really does sometimes struggle to get around and an extra 50 feet for him in adverse weather conditions is something to be mindful of, not dismissed.
I wasn't fond of the forced detoxing in MLC, either. Cuddy's decision of what reasonable doses were for House was based on nothing but her own perception of what he should be taking.
I know, I know, I know to wait how things play out but the mere notion of mixing his pain meds with laxatives really creeps me out. Mind you, it's totally in character for Cuddy because I believe she over-steps her bounds in regards to self-appointed management of his physical pain quite consistently. But I do find it interesting that while House is an ass and certainly makes her administrative life a nightmare, he's never physically caused Cuddy any harm or discomfort. The same can not be said of her to him.
It's just another one of those reasons where I think House/Cuddy = hell no.

Hmmm. I didn't interpret the placebo injection as cruel. I felt as though Cuddy did so out of concern for House. If House were 15, I might consider it cruel but a middle-aged man who refuses to use other options - not so much.

He's caused her plenty of emotional harm (points at Humpty & FJ, for starters). In my book that's worse.

I agree, I didn't think that was cruel either. The Lie aside, I don't think I'd classify anything she's done to him as "cruel." The parking space thing was mean but I personally was still ticked at House at that time so it was hard for me to muster up any sympathy for him.

Thank you. I was going to mention those I'm glad you did because the FJ in particular went way beyond emotional cruelty.

True, although wrt to Finding Judas, his emotional cruelty was a direct result of Cuddy witholding pain medication.
For the first time in quite a while, I actually made plans to hang out with friends tomorrow night and, without a DVR/VCR, I'll have to catch the episode....in other ways....but I have to say that I'm very much looking forward to Frank Whaley. He's a very understated actor. I like the idea of people that I recognize as guest stars, but not necessarily the kind of folks that are the hot property, jumping around and guest starring on every other show at the exact same time.

So, is it just me that wanted to hurl sharp objects at Foreman when he showed up on the preview for tomorrow?
No?
Good to know.
PS: It's really David Shore I want to throw things at.

Withholding his pain medication in Finding Judas was, in my mind, the worst thing she's ever done to him. She expected him to do his job with a difficult case while Tritter was tightening his noose around House and his entire inner circle, yet she took away the one thing that he needed to function properly. I thought his remark to her about the baby was horribly cruel and the worst thing he'd ever said to her, but he was clearly out of his mind with pain.
While I don't consider her cruel, she certainly messes around with his emotional well-being at times. She had to know how difficult it was for House to see Stacy again, yet she offers her a job in the hospital.
I'll have to agree with those posters above that it's quite possible this spoiler will not be as bad as it sounds. Maybe she's secretly worried that he's constipated and this is her way of looking out for him. :)

I was looking forward to Foreman's return, but now it looks as if he's being set up as this season's Vogler/Tritter. We don't need another one of those. Again, though, this may play out better as it goes along.

I was sort of wondering if Cuddy was diagnosing constipation. But then I didn't want to know how that would come up in conversation.
I think, too, that House's reaction to what's happening has a lot to do with how I feel about what people do. His obvious pain and suffering in FJ and MLC evinces a very different reaction from watching House getting even with Wilson's psychotropic roofie plan. I could see this being very bad - House ending up frightened because his pills don't seem to be working as well as they usually do - or not quite so bad, if House expresses some level of appreciation for such a sick joke.

I'll join you because my DS hate has been revived with the latest emo4man arc.

It is a well known side effect of vicodin usage.
