And Broken didn't have a case in it either and focused solely on House, and I for one didn't like the idea of House in the loony bin (I still think it's utterly ridiculous) and IMO it hasn't been written well either, but I don't recall people complaining about it the way they do now at the mere prospect of a possible Huddy-only episode. I do recall it, and it's the same people, complaining about the same old thing before it even happens. MOD NOTE: DISCUSS THE SHOW NOT THE FANS OF THE SHOW.

Cuddyclothes- 06-15-2010

To me there's no point in complaining about it because of how subversive the show can be when it comes to relations. Chase and Cameron got married in S5, then it was all shot to hell in S6. It's like the promos...they always cut the material so that it barely makes sense when you see the show. Yes, I get all excited and fangirly over them, but I don't take them seriously. I'm with the folks that would like to get the bulk of Huddy over with in the first episode, although that is highly unlikely, with the ripple factor that would inevitably happen, including the team. Did I just completely contradict myself?

Did I just completely contradict myself? I am reserving judgment but I must say, if they devoted a *season* to Cuddy and Lucas being together, and years of flirting and salubrious remarks leading up to getting House and Cuddy together, and then Cuddy and House get one lousy show before they blow up or fade into the background, I am going to be not only very surprised, but very put out. I'm not huge on this pairing, and I don't want to see this fine medical drama become just another soap opera set in a hospital, but I would expect, a little *pacing*, a sense of *proportion*. Big idea, big conflicts, big ramifications, big lead-up, then "poof, WHEW, so nice to have that out of our systems, all better now, and by the way did we mention House and Cuddy are an item?" just is not up to this show's excellent standards. If it's set just after "Help Me," then anything too happy-happy and romantic isn't very realistic, either. The show does keep surprising me, and usually in good ways.

I, for one, would be disappointed if they spent the last 3 seasons working toward a romantic relationship and have it bite the dust in a short period of time. I think they have shown us that House and Cuddy are more than just a fling and that they actually mean something to each other. I would hope that they would explore this complex relationship it in an organic and honest manner, where we see what draws them together along with the complications, but never allowing it to be the "A" story. I don't even want it to be on the same level as to what we got last year with House and Wilson. A couple of good scenes in an episode would work perfectly for me.

even if he's a stud, as wilson said Oh, when did he mention that? And are we sure he wasn't projecting his own phantasies there...? ;) Both sides now, Announce made to Wilson : House: I slept with Cuddy. After she helped me detox from Vicodin. I’ve been clean for almost 24 hours now. Okay. Thought I’d mention it. Wilson: Wow. Wow. One for each. House: That’s what she said. A ha ha ha. Wilson: How’s the pain? House: She’s probably got some bruising… Wilson: Yeah. I get it. You’re a stud. This is serious, House. Made me LOL at the time, and i'm not gonna comment on the phantasy part, but since Wilson's in the first episode, I can't wait to see if he finds out or is told.

I am excited to find out how Wilson finds out about House/Cuddy, that should be a golden moment for sure; I would be happy if this happened in the premiere episode or in any subsequent one this fall. I just don't want to be deprived of the fun. I agree that Thirteen could well be the first of the fellows to pick up on the changes, although Foreman, who was present for House's unravelling after Hannah's death in "Help Me," has more of the critical information necessary to make the diagnosis of his boss' new heart condition. I am also fully expecting and hoping that House will unleash all the romanticism that we know he keeps bottled up inside. If he bought a corsage for Cameron for a single date and created a sappy prescription Valentine for Stacy after their one night together, I am expecting he will go all in for Cuddy after so many years of waiting and wishing. A combo plate of grade-school corniness seasoned with hard-edged wariness seems about right for House/Cuddy this year. Both of these characters have been shown since season one to be eccentric, childlike, petulant, impulsive, brilliant, driven, emotionally battered, and utter numbskulls at communication. So I expect TPTB to thoroughly examine all sides of their completely unconventional relationship this season and hopefully into season 8 as well. But I do expect that the House/Cuddy developments will be kept at the level of the B or C storyline for most episodes. The medical cases will continue to take center stage as they should. (I anticipate that even if House/Cuddy is relegated to a single scene of only a few seconds in many episodes, that one scene will get much more fan analysis than the A story.) sdemar wrote: I don't even want it to be on the same level as to what we got last year with House and Wilson. blacktop, I too am excited to see how Wilson finds out that House and Cuddy are now a couple. I also hope we see some of the romance that is in House. We know that he is capable of it. I also don't expect House/Cuddy relationship to be front and center. I'm sure we will see plenty of medical mysteries and House dealing with other issues that has nothing to do with Cuddy. My only prayer is that we get no more furniture buying montages. What? You weren't moved by the struggle to pick out a chair?

I think I died and went to heaven based on the pics in the spoiler page. :D :D I did not see at first that Cuddy was on the bike.... I think my brain refused to process this.... Probably phantasized about it too much before.. And House's hair is longer. HAY!! Oh, and am I high, or did I spot the return of the pimp cane on the tiny view of Hugh? The one he uses on "special occasions", Monster truck with Cameron, Oncology benefit? I loved this one. (keep telling the writers keep it low, keep it low, don't make it crash....) ETA : Looking better, the handle doesn't seem to match. It could be the Fancy Dress Walking Stick from Knows Unknown. Damn, I really hoped.

Damn, I really hoped. I'm very impressed by your eye for detail. Would this mean that House considers breakfast (or whatever he's doing in the pictured scene) with Cuddy a special occasion? The idea that he'd wear his usual jeans and t-shirt, but "dress up" with a special cane -- that's very sweet. I want to think the props department is looking for a special motorcycle helmet for Cuddy.

And I can be wrong with the cane

The idea that he'd wear his usual jeans and t-shirt, but "dress up" with a special cane -- that's very sweet. If this episode is taking place right after the finale, he left his "everyday" cane at the site. So I would imagine that he'd have to use whatever he had at the house. But still, I'm sure he had other spares, looks like he chose one more for a special occasion.

blacktop- 06-17-2010

Love the image of Cuddy as a biker chick! If she has a helment, does that mean that House had one stored away for a special occasion or did they rush out and buy this one on the spot? Either way works for me. Also, Princeton is a small community, so riding around on the back of a garish orange motorcycle in broad daylight with the most notorious doctor in town is quite a bold and provocative move for Cuddy to make at this point. It doesn't really look like they are trying to keep their new relationship under wraps. Me likey.

Either way works for me. In "Deception" when House and Cameron went to the patient's house, Cameron had a helmet. Cuddy's probably using the same one.
