Eh, I don't know - that article looked like pure speculation. From what we know, Lucas and Cuddy don't break up in episode 18. But, then, from all appearances he doesn't factor into any other episodes after 14. Unless they break them up in 19, It seems at least as likely that they'll be together through the end of the season mostly-offscreen while Weston is busy, as Taub and his wife are.

DS did say the relationship wouldn't last. Add to that the relationship is going over like a lead balloon, I think the ending is coming. I'm sticking to my original prediction and that is Lucas & Cuddy end the relationship in the finale and House and Wilson decide they want their own space and House will move back to his lovely apt that I have missed.
m_supercomputer- 01-28-2010
Not to begrudge anyone their own predictions, of course, but the DS interview didn't really confirm anything. "Foreseeable future" and "not permanent" could mean pretty much anything, and what he said doesn't confirm at all that House will move out. Not to say that they necessarily won't happen, of course, but I don't think we know for sure either way.

Oh, you are absolutely right. We know how DS likes to play with words. I guess for me, I want the Luddy relationship to end so I am hoping it to be true.
As far as my prediction, I don’t know why I think that. I just do. But I’m usually wrong so since I have a pretty lousy record, I wouldn’t bet on my theory, but it is still my theory.
There are two absolute things I know-I don’t like Luddy because I love the House and Cuddy relationship and I miss House in his apartment. Not because of Wilson, but because I think House’s apartment speaks to who the man is and I miss those moments where we, the audience, get glimpses into his life that noone else sees.

Well I hate the Huddy relationship I think it came out of nowhere - NOWHERE and doesn't make a bit of sense. They've known each other for 20 years and all of sudden there's love in the air. Please!! ridiculous!! And it's the childishness that really turns me off. House manages to act like a grown-up with every other woman except Cuddy. Geez!! TPTB get a clue. House was great with Lydia and even better with Nora. That moan and groan look Cuddy gave House in Remorse made me roll my eyes. What the hell is wrong with her?
The Luddy relationship doesn't make sense to me either. What in the world would attract Cuddy to someone like that - was she just looking for a babysitter. I don't get it.
Even though I hate Huddy I still think the TPTB should give Huddy a chance - you know scenes where they do age appropriate things. Go out on a date, discuss life, have sex - for real, do things with Cuddy's foster child.

Hate is a huge word though it has a punch-I try not to use it much,,see some points here, very few likes Luddy relationship, though I have yet to see any who love it. I agree that they should give Huddy a chance, but for what Ive read in other forums, TPTB's idea of bringing Lucas back was to delay Huddy as much as possible,,he was supposed to leave in ep 10-and we know he will be throuth ep 14 and some have yet to predict until the end of this season. I know Im in the minority in this forum, but I only like House and Wilson as a brother-like relationship , good buddies..and would like to see House going back to his apartment too-want to see him in his territory, playing piano, doing his thing..at Wilson's we lack "that House".

I think all relationships on House, whether potentially romantic or not, are deeply immature. The show, because of or thanks to its title character, does not cope well with emotional honesty.
Of course, House can open up to people when he knows, consciously or not, that they are never going to be parts of his life (it is what he did with Lydia and with a handful of patients). He can also be honest in the middle of a lie (i.e. Nora). But he appears to hate the idea of confiding in those who are close to him. Perhaps because he is afraid of what they will think of him; perhaps because he does not want to give them "ammunitions"; perhaps because it would be embarassing for him to face them afterwards... Who knows? The end result is that he usually acts rather immaturely with those closer him.
And it seems like all the other characters behave in the same way, to a certain extent. After all, plotting to make one's colleague jealous of one's (fake) salary is not very mature, nor is any of these things: kidnapping somebody, punching somebody's face, lying about punching somebody's face, urinating on somebody's chair, sawing through somebody's cane, kidnapping somebody's guitar, stealing somebody's food, drugging somebody against their will, putting somebody's fingers in a bowl of water while they sleep, etc. The list goes on and on ;)
As for the chronology of "Huddy", it may indeed look weird for two people who have known each other for such a long time only to develop feelings now. But I think that, for the best part of two decades, they did not necessarily see a lot of each other. We know they met in med school and that, shortly after they slept together, House was expelled. How long after that did they meet again? During the infarction? Before? How long before/after the infarction did House start working at PPTH? Maybe the show answered those questions, but I can't seem to recall anything about it.
Given this lack of knowledge (which may be mine alone), one can assume that House and Cuddy did not keep in touch between the day House left Michigan and the day Cuddy either hired him or became his doctor (whichever came first). In this case, the idea that they could start being interested in each other some twenty years after they met for the first time is not so awkward.

Regarding the new promo for 5to9:
Is the vicodin really back?
Is it Chase fighting with another doctor? (I just need a little more Chase  )
Next episode looks interesting.

Is it Chase fighting with another doctor?
OMG. It is! LOL @ Taub just looking on while Thirteen and Foreman try to break it up.
*sigh* I was planning on skipping the Huddy/Luddy fest, but now I have to watch.
scrivo35- 02-02-2010
I hope that the episode is as good as it looks in the promo!!!!

The next episode looks superb: administrative angst, doctory shenanigans, no more cotton-candy fluff, House and Cuddy actually talking to each other without code words or snark, never-before-seen denizens of PPTH! I can't wait!

Okay just saw the preview for next week's episode and I'm SO excited. I hate Luddy after this week's episode but I know it's going to end so I'm okay with seeing it.
Any thoughts on what this Atlantic Net is? I'm hoping for an insurance company since I negotiate managed care contracts for a living. It'd totally be cool to see my life on House. Although then I'll end up being mad because it's totally unrealistic or something. :)
But I'm looking forward to a day in the life of Lisa Cuddy.
Chiara- 02-02-2010
After watching the first four minutes of next week's episode, I feel bad. Cuddy's morning routine looks a hundred times more stressful than my average week.
On a sunnier note: the Pretenders!
yukiyu- 02-02-2010
Poor Cuddy, she has t deal with her daily routine since 5am, (LISA IS SOOO FLEXIBLE!!), and worse going to work frustrated because 2-minute man could no perform..yikes! Paging Dr House!!

Right there with you. The previews look promising and FINALLY some Huddy time. I think I'll just pretend Luddy is a figment of my imagination because he's a short timer. Why can't I bend like LE? I guess we now know how she stays in shape. Holy Toledo. I would break.
