He always says something about the hot ones. To me, that doesn't equal ship. Just that he has eyes and testosterone. Me either. I doubt House only notices the attractive females tptb are planning to pair him up with. From the spoiler thread (forget the episode), they all make bets about who House is going to fire next. Chase starts the betting: cut throat bitch is most likely to go. Then, it says House went 50/50 with Chase and made a bundle. Does that mean CTB is gone then? I'm going to miss her.

Donkeykong, many thanks for the spoiler info for ep 5! Foreman comes back, House wants him gone. There is a god! And I am strangely attracted to the idea of Chase & House manipulating the pool & the idea that they are conning Cameron as well as others (why is she backing Foreman if she's also helping Cole?). Does that mean CTB is gone then? I'm going to miss her. IIRC it says House doesn't fire anyone - Chase is presumably stacking the odds for other candidates, so that when House doesn't fire anyone the odds pay well for House betting on that outcome.

There is a god! And I am strangely attracted to the idea of Chase & House manipulating the pool & the idea that they are conning Cameron as well as others Amen. It's about time Chase got some House action, so to speak. (why is she backing Foreman if she's also helping Cole?). Um...she finally got that jungle fever?

Bessie Mae- 10-23-2007

Good! I'm glad CTB lives to be nasty another day. I thought Cameron was saying her money was on Foreman being fired. Not that he could be by House, but I thought his name being on the list was the list of candidates being gone. I didn't see that as her supporting Foreman. But, my sense of what that line meant could be screwy.

saara_zaara- 10-23-2007

Okay, I haven't seen tonight's ep, but was just reading bits of the ep threads on the various forums. If I have this right, this week various folks are all pleased that Cameron won $100 from House (how pleased depends on how much you like Cameron). But next week Chase & House split a boatload more cash than that & in fact House manipulates the game away from the candidate(s) she's helping/backing? Umm, doesn't that sound a bit like payback? or am I missing something (apart from the fact I need to watch Guardian Angels).

Bessie Mae- 10-23-2007

I don't think there's any connection between the bet this week and the one in the spoilers. I don't recall a mention of House manipulating the game away from who Cameron is backing. But, something I don't understand. If they're all betting on who House will fire, wouldn't the winner be the person who predicted who got fired? And, if House didn't fire any of them, how could he split with Chase? Wouldn't they all lose? Unless Chase and House bet that he wouldn't fire anyone, but I thought Chase bet on CTB to be the one to go.

saara_zaara- 10-23-2007

Someone holds the pool of all the bets (here Chase). If no one wins the bet of who is fired because no one gets fired, the pool makes no payouts & the house (Chase) keeps all the bets - to split with House who made sure that Chase made no payouts. I hope that makes sense.

Bessie Mae- 10-23-2007

Yes, it did make sense. Thanks for the explanation. So, does that mean that House purposely doesn't fire anyone so he can get a cut of the money?

saara_zaara- 10-23-2007

Seems as if he does. And he's in cahoots with Chase to do it, otherwise Chase gets 100% of the pool.

I can't wait for this mirroring patient, not so much the power antics of Cuddy and House, but it's such an opportunity for some good character exposition.

I hope that makes sense. The House is Chase. Hee. I'm just happy to hear that House and Chase are working cooperatively, even if it's not about a patient.

ITA, and for the sake of fairness, I hope they all get a turn. And by "all" I mean the original six, obviously they newbies will get a turn. I'm kind of looking forward to a gathering crowd following House around.

Jouse- 10-24-2007

I just watched the promo and I want to die. I knew they'll do something with 13 and House!! Why, god??? Why??? Why can't TPTB not take the tedious, predictable route for once?? *groans in pain* ETA: Not talking ship wise, I don't think TPTB are that diabolical, but the scenario itself is so predictable and pointless. Bahhhh I hope the mirror guy will get quality time with House and Wilson, at least.

marykir- 10-24-2007

Jouse, go watch the clips on fox.com. The preview is very misleading.

DIY Sheep- 10-24-2007

The trailer preview is ALWAYS very misleading.
