hmm. Wilson's revealing something that has the potential to end his career? What about, "I'm so involved with my patients that I occasionally sleep with them?" Or, as House put it, "I'm sorry you're dying, Mrs. Moron. I'll sleep with you now." Or maybe Wilson is going to reveal that he's suffering from severe depression and can't go on anymore as an oncologist. Why he'd make that statement in front of hundreds of other doctors, at a big medical conference, is anyone's guess.

Why he'd make that statement in front of hundreds of other doctors, at a big medical conference, is anyone's guess. Actually, I think that would be pretty brave of him and he can't be the only one. It might shed light on what I assume must be a major issue for caregivers of terminal patients. In order to be compassionate and supportive to people in their last days, you need to be open on some level - you can't completely disassociate so what toll does that end up taking on you and your life? How does fighting an enemy (death) that ultimately always wins affect your self-esteem. Doctors are human too. It could be very interesting.

I can see where depression would be weighting heavily on Wilson mind. After all we know he has been suffering from depression since at least season 3, if not before then. Add to that his best friend has just spent 3 mos in a mental hospital because of severe depression. I could see him wanting to do a lecture on it as a means of coming to terms with it himself.

fffaw- 09-28-2009

It would make sense, right? Alot of drama could be mined from that if it was handled well. On a happier note, let us just pause for a minute and picture Wilson in Prince's Purple Rain outfit. :-)

My guess is that Wilson's topic is on opiates and doctors' culpability in prescribing high levels of pain killers with the best intentions, if the person being prescribed those painkillers gets hooked. (Since oncologists do prescribe a lot of opiates, though the largest amount during final stage cancers.) House doesn't want Wilson taking the blame for his own addiction, and since there have been legal issues with doctors prescribing large numbers of painkillers, he thinks Wilson is placing his standing in jeopardy.

I'm really excited about next week's episode. If they have Chase kill someone in order to save millions of other people, that'll be a really cool story and that's kind of what it sounds like is going to happen. It'll be so refreshing to see the original ducklings working with House again too. I'm 100% sure I won't miss 13 if she's not around.

LightMyCandle- 09-28-2009

That would be a cool story. I'm really excited to see exactly what Chase is going to do and exactly why he's going to do it. Plus, Mufasa!!! JS is going to rock this. I know he is.

Yeah, what you said! Jesse's such a good actor that I know he'll really pull us into whatever internal struggle Chase goes through in doing whatever it is he's going to do.

It was so great to find an actual Wilson spoiler tonight after trying to stay away from the internet today. Ep 7 is even more intriguing now, especially the "it's actually more serious part". Since it has been said that the episode is about finding out about things that weren't known, I wonder and hope that it means that something actually will be going on with Wilson, and that the lecture is only the result of that. Also there was the USA Today article that says he has "struggles of his own" so maybe, just maybe there will actually be a Wilson storyline for once.

If they have Chase kill someone in order to save millions of other people, that'll be a really cool story and that's kind of what it sounds like is going to happen.  I don't think I can stand the suspense. We won't have the episodes until I don't know when and I am totally freaking now. If Chase is really going to kill someone even for the sake of others, heck it's still gonna be murder and he'll be charged for it, won't he? OMG I don't want him to leave as well! I don't want anything bad happening to Chase! *cries hyserically and bangs head against the wall* Oh wait! What if it is not Chase who is going to kill the bad dictator but some other person close to him (Cameron?)? Would explain her leaving, doesn't it? What if he stays to cover her up? What if she is the one who "pulls the trigger", and Chase decides to take the blame for it? Meh. I must stop reading the spoilers. Makes me speculate too much. I hate myself for giving it so much thought already... LOL!

I'm really excited about next week's episode. The moral issue is one that I've actually considered and discussed with people. I'm also really curious to see how everyone personally reacts to the PotW and how they react to each others reactions. That being said, please, oh please, oh please, do NOT bring Lydia back. I am begging you, TPTB. I don't think that I could even remotely consider the possibility of not hating her if she decides to abandon her family (especially her kids) in order to run back into the arms of her 2-3 month affair.

idonmatrix- 09-30-2009

Lydia is an improvement over Cuddy but for me I find romantic - lovey dovey House ridiculously boring. I wonder if Wilson's secret has to do with euthanizing his patients. That would certainly be a career ender and probably a freedom ender too. But why Wilson would reveal that I have no idea unless he is so severly depressed, he doesn't care about his life. The scary part about the possibility of euthanasia is that some of his patietnst are children. The other possibility is that Wilson has been trying experimental treatments on himself. However, I think the big secret is probably that he's angel of death.

Oh my, I would love some Chase/Wilson/Cameron scenes! Maybe Chase is covering for someone... Wilson? I can't believe I'm waiting for this show!

Interesting thing about the cast lists for 6x04 and 6x05 - PJ is in the former, but not the latter. I wonder if that means he'll actually appear next week, or if they just didn't want to give away that he'd be quitting before last week's episode aired. Also, scheduling-wise, I'd imagine that either the week after 6x05 or the week after that we'll get our first repeat of the season - episodes 7-10 seem likely to be the November sweeps ones.

Yaitanes has been tweeting about directing Episode 9, not 10. Arithmetic mustn't be Ausiello's thing.
