I got the impression that Chase does miss the diagnostics process too. I think that's why he stepped up when no one else could think of the answer during the surgery. I think it's why he helped CTB find her answer. I think it's why he told House he's there if he needs help. I don't think he'd offer to help House if he had any aversion to working with him or if he wanted to get away from House and diagnostics.

Well, the thing about Cuddy is that she's pretty much only a good boss for House. (And, on occasion, that's arguable.) For everyone else, she's not much of a boss at all. Wilson found out how little she was concerned about him during the Tritter arc. Foreman had the rug yanked from under him during those 4 weeks he was put in charge. Cameron got absolutely no response when it was clear that a colleague had stolen her article. That she's not aware of Chase's abilities doesn't surprise me because her character myopically only pays attention to House and what is good or bad for House. Putting Foreman as an "eyes and ears" seems another demonstration of that. It isn't meant to slight Chase, per se, because Chase doesn't figure into Cuddy's vision. Foreman makes himself more known to Cuddy but you'd think by this point he'd be more wary of her. How many times can you get fooled by Lucy yanking the football, after all?

Given Chase's history with House (Vogler, Tritter etc etc) if Cuddy wanted Chase to join the team to spy on House, does anyone think Chase would say yes? (I don't, just MO). Foreman, OTH, may be desperate enough having been fired by Mercy & having problems looking for a job that he might be forced to say yes. Cuddy's always been a lot better at managing Foreman than House in the past & she's got additional leverage that she can threaten to fire him again (I can't see he'd be employable if that happened) if he doesn't knuckle under. For all the icky Foreman, I could live with it if I got a Cuddy in control of him and by extension House (I always love how she manipulated Foreman during the "Foreman in charge" arc) and it would radically change the dynamic between the group - getting rid of "Mommy" Cuddy would be a good thing.

Except Chase was the one who shook his head no when the other candidates brought up the question of House hiring him. And, Chase seemed very pleased/content to be in a position where House would have to ask him for help, rather than just order him because he's Chase's boss. edited because I took so long posting and others posted during that time. Chase might want to keep diagnosing, but he might not want to work for House -helping out independently is something else- or oversee his team. He could still want to be part of the surgical staff, but be willing to help House if House needs him. Especially if House can't bully him into helping.

I definitely don't think Chase would play spy for Cuddy. Yay for Chase. What I miss is ongoing House and Chase interaction after the good bits we got last season. Chase is the only person on the show that accepts House for who he is without conditions. He doesn't always like how House acts, but he accepts House as is. If Chase was given the team that Foreman had been offered last season, he wouldn't be directly under House but still working with him. I think that's what he wants. Does he want to go back to fellowship underling? No...and he shouldn't. He learned. But he could be attending or, yeah..RUN HIS OWN TEAM. The Shouting is for tptb, now anyone here.

I doubt there will actually be a second team for any of them to run. I might have missed a spoiler that said there would be, but until I find that out, it doesn't seem they can fit another team on the show. They'd have to add in more cast members -no sense of having a team if they never show that team and the head of the team working. And, up the cases. Two potw every week, or close to it? I'm factoring in possible changing up of the stories once in awhile. I think there was a reason why Foreman didn't accept Cuddy's offer to head his own diagnostics department, and it wasn't just because he felt he couldn't work there when he didn't know who sabotaged his job interview. It was because there was no intention by the writers of there being a second team.

For me, Chase has become House with just a pinch  of Wilson mixed in. :stir: He is House's best protege, but has a healthy fear of lawsuits. He knows enough to know he doesn't know everything, but he's growing into being an excellent doctor. Edited by Hail the Random to remove extra quote tag

Yes!! Yes!! Please get rid of the Mommy Cuddy thing cause really if it continues much longer people may get a little squicked when House and Cuddy finally make another "love" connection.

sasmom- 10-15-2007

So House is on his own in "Whatever it takes?" That's fine by me. I kind of like eps like that, few and far between though they are. I am a little annoyed that Foreman's incharge when he's clearly shown time and time again that the man is just not cut out for this sort of thing. And man, that's *still* more believable than Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist. Words cannot describe my hatred for Denise Richards. As for Wuddy, I don't mind it and I haven't seen near enough evidence that anything will come from it at all. Love that the idea of House's reputation gets him called in on various interesting cases outside of PPTH and to speak at conferences. Sort of contrasts how House, the genius who, despite his surly anti-social reputation is sought after for his expertise and Foreman who was fired for being off-the-wall without the years and years of built up experience and wisdom (of a sort) House posesses. Foreman may think he's as good as House, but without the years of practice behind him, Foreman is just an arrogant doctor.

I think House and Chase, after how far Chase has come, could be such fun to watch truly interacting. In three years we only ever got a tease of them interacting. I'm tired of foreman and House stuff. I get it. I got it 3 years ago. I really don't care about Foreman other than to see him go away forever.

LightMyCandle- 10-15-2007

Does anyone think that Cuddy wanting Foreman to spy on House has anything to do with his "shocking" stunt last week? Not that she seeks Foreman out or anything but if Foreman's desperate for a job then the opportunity has just kind of fallen into her lap. Cuddy seemed really upset, disappointed, and just disgusted in her last scene of 97 seconds, it could motivate her to want someone on the inside to keep a closer eye on House.

saara_zaara- 10-15-2007

ITA with this - & its interesting, its almost suggests the death in 97 seconds is going to impact her more than House & 13.

extra_cat- 10-15-2007

I'm tired of House and Foreman interacting too. They're both arrogant pricks who bring out the worst in each other. Foreman's thinking he's just like House makes me want to slap him because he hasn't earned his arrogance. Foreman is like the emobodiement of everything that I wouldn't like about House if House didn't have the charm and humor as his saving grace. Foreman lacks both charm and humor so he makes House look good. But, seriously, it's like watching two moose with their antlers stuck together. I'm not looking forward to revisiting that to a great extent and I'm simply bitter because it looks like from recent spoilers that Foreman is going to remain in the spotlight and he's the one I'd really like to see less of, not more.

aenissesthai- 10-15-2007

But, seriously, it's like watching two moose with their antlers stuck together. Bwah! I'm glad I'm not drinking anything, because it would be all over the screen! Need I say, perfect, PERFECT description, especially of the Season 3 Foreman arc? You're the one who rocks! :urock:

extra_cat- 10-16-2007

Why, thank you! :) So, is Chase in any of those new clips on FOX? I can never get them to play, so I'm not even going to attempt to deal with the frustration this morning.
