Just speculation saara. Sorry no real info!!! Just thinking maybe their real life situation would play a part in TPTB not wanting to make things awkward for the actors by keeping their characters a couple. But true, they could still be together and just not play it up that much.

For once I agree with Cameron (yes, hell just froze over) - I definitely like him better like this!
Holy shit, Chase fucking rocked in that scene. Just . . . wow. Awesome.
what's different is the tone in which he's speaking to House (Cuddy could stand to take a lesson)
Hell to the yes.
The helping Foreman thing is really an interesting wrinkle - first Chase is big enough to do so (patient care overrides his feelings about Foreman) & second, Foreman NEEDS HELP
I really admire that Chase would be big enough to help Foreman, I was hoping that would happen. And this also means Foreman ASKED FOR HELP.
No idea how House finds out about Chase helping—it looks like he was in the classroom when he figured it out, but his epiphanies aren't locality-dependent.
This is the patient Foreman's going to get fired over I guess, so wonder how it'll go down.
I really, really don't think that JS and JMo would have a problem with playing a couple on TV after they called off their engagement—they're both professionals. And it seems like having Chase and Cam together does AWESOME things for their respective characters (well, I can tolerate Cameron much better. Hooker hair helps too), so both the actors and the writers may have a lot invested in Ch/C sticking it out for a while at least (I hope longer). Plus they seem to be using it as another way to torture House, and TPTB love that. And I'm guessing having both JMo & JS on screen at the same time is a big + in quite a few demographics for FOX.
Not to say that if Ch/C broke up on the show that Chase's character would go back to Chase in S1/2, there was obviously a long buildup to his increased confidence all during S3. Cam's hoo-hoo isn't magic or anything. ;) I just like that something worked out for Chase and Cameron did something I can actually think about without getting a headache. So I've got my fingers crossed for Ch/C.

Agree Sans Serif - I definitely don't think *they* would have a problem playing a couple, I was just thinking TPTB would be the ones who wouldn't ask them to do it. But yeah, their characters together is so much better than I would have ever imagined, I would like to see it last for awhile. Also because it greatly lessens the chance for Ham, which is always a good thing.

I get what you said about TPTB. And Word on the Ham! My altruism towards Ch/C is not 100% free of bias towards my lovely Cam-free HoYay ship(s).

Another interesting thing about Chase helping Foreman would be if he does so against hospital policy and it really is something that he could get fired over.

IMO its going to depend a little on exactly what Chase is doing to help. Its common practice to send referrals to docs at other hospitals & get second opinions. As part of that process Chase might well do an extra test or two, or Foreman may have asked him to do a test that he can't get done at Mercy (again okay with the right permissions). If he's sneaking in tests under false names etc - sure not hospital policy, but hey, that's what House does all the time (Luke N. Laura, anyone?), so there'll be an element of "pot, meet kettle" in that. For all we know Chase has Cuddy's or his boss in surgery's permission & its just House feeling pissy about not controlling Chase/Foreman going to Chase instead of him blah, blah, fishcakes.

I liked the clip with House, Chase, and Cameron. But, my favorite moments are when House and Chase have a scene together. And, I liked Cameron, too. But, it's not uncommon for me to like her. And, is it spoiler or speculation that Chase was helping Foreman?
And, if Amber is the blonde cutthroat bitch, I liked her in the scene with the other new candidates.

Pure speculation. For all we know Foreman doesn't go anywhere near Chase in this ep.

Absolutely. I also think no matter what the context (permission granted or not) House really is just pissed off that he can't control/intimidate/manipulate his old team anymore.
saara_zaara- 10-09-2007
Speculation. Though if its not Foreman Chase is helping at another hospital who is it?
aenissesthai- 10-09-2007
More pure speculation, but House's exact line is "running tests for someone who's NOT a doctor at this hospital." We assume (me, too, really) that he's talking about someone who's a doctor at another hospital (aka Foreman), but what if House is referring to someone who's not a doctor at all--like Old Guy? After all, Chase has obviously been helping the men's team (he asks, "Did the men get it wrong?")--and Old Guy is on the men's team.
Of course, this is even more way-out-there speculation than the Foreman angle, because I'm not sure that House "outed" Old Guy as not-a-doc to anyone else. If she knew, Cutthroat Bitch probably would've reported him by now and got Cuddy to kick him out.
Bessie Mae- 10-09-2007
Would any of the new candidates be considered doctors at the hospital until they're weeded down to House's actual team? Could Chase have helped any of the doctors on the men's team, and even though most of them are doctors, it would still be considered helping someone who wasn't a doctor on staff at the hospital?

Actually, my first thought was that Chase was helping one of the newbies, too, for some reason. And by this time House might have made it clear that he's NOT hiring Scooter as a doctor but in some other capacity. Scooter may have then overstepped his bounds.

I think that House said in TRS that he hired all 40 of them, so they are technically all doctors at PPTH. He's not choosing who to hire, but rather who not to fire.
saara_zaara- 10-09-2007
(he asks, "Did the men get it wrong?")
Aha! I thought he said "Did Forman get it wrong?" Because all the newbies are docs at PPTH except for Scooter, so I couldn't see how that jived with House's comment about docs not at the hospital. Though in that instance Scooter asking for help because he's not a doc would also make sense (like for hte procedure last week).
Actually that he's helping the newbies is interesting because wasn't there an earlier spoiler which said that one of them asks for help & he says no? Though maybe that was more about how to manage House than helping the patient.
aenissesthai- 10-09-2007
Aha! I thought he said "Did Forman get it wrong?"
Maybe you're right; I'm watching the scene on my computer, and my speakers suck, so it's way possible that I heard Chase wrong. Plus for some reason, I have a hard time understanding accents--some glitch in my brain. I adore Chase, but I always have to replay his scenes 2-3 times to catch all of his dialogue.
The previous spoiler about Chase 'not helping' had Kal asking him during surgery, "Got any hints for me?" on how to deal with House, and Chase tersely answering, "No," and going on with the surgery. So you're right: it was about managing House and not about patient diagnosis.
Although on the Foreman angle, I thought he was still at New York Mercy running his own team for this episode, and that he doesn't return to PPTH until next week at soonest--so I'm not sure why he would, to quote Chase, "get it right" on THIS week's PPTH patient.
So much to look for in the next few hours! :D
